  4. Fingers crossed then (FOR US ALL!)
  5. I really hope Long Eaton come back to Station Rd, I as a fellow midlander will be there to see the day........BUT! ....If Station Rd is turned down there is plenty of land between Ilkeston & Sandiacre which is right in the middle of an industrial area, I know because I drive through it every week.
  6. Never liked Charles Ock ............anti Brummies
  7. Shakey had a new lease of life when leaving Wolves for the Brummies at the start of 1977, Mal made it to heatleader with some great performances and scores, but engine problems and loss of form made things difficult when the summer arrived, eventually he left in the close season, but I do remember the yellow overalls and some good nights at Perry Barr in that first half of 77, I still have his autograph.
  8. Footage of the meeting is on the History of speedway video (the boom years), dont forget George also had an interest at the Tamworth Hounds speedway club, some breif details of this are available on the Tamworth page on the Brummies website

  17. Can anybody beat the crazy dbl hdr Brummies/Exeter....only about 150 miles between us? 27th August 1979 a bank holiday Monday, we wont speak about the 11am meeting, Falcons 53 Birm 25 but I will mention 7.45pm Brummies 40 Falcons 38 meeting where Finn Jensen recorded his first full 12 pt max, beating Scott Autrey into the bargain

  22. Pics of Soren are featured on our site www.brummiespeedway.co.uk Soren rode in the 1976 season for us.
  23. Yeah I agree the Bordesley Brummies were poorly supported, but then again we lost a Full season of speedway, We lost First class British Lge racing - We lost a Cracking little stadium in North Brum, We lost Nielsen, Grahame, Evitts, Jorgensen etc and were basically given a track built on a rubbish tip in East Birm a football area?(and with respect) in the "NATIONAL LEAGUE" Although I think at the moment we'd give anything right now for a Birmingham Speedway?....any takers out there. www.brummiespeedway.co.uk
  24. Also going off the subject - a big THANK YOU to those who have supported our site in its first 10 month's, please keep visiting! merry xmas.
  25. YEP!.. Phil was John's dad, if you check our site on the bonus page we have a picture of the 70's stadium flag owned by Phil then passed on to John which was in turn presented to a local history club in Perry Barr in the late 80's early 90's, its now owned by a fan in the area. www.brummiespeedway.co.uk
