"Some stuff I'm hearing about the Lynn situation is ridiculous.Kings Lynn didn't know what their plans were and I was in no position to mess premier league offers about after my accident. At the time I signed for Ipswich , kings Lynn did not know what their race night would be" Lewis Kerr posted the above statement on his Twitter this morning

Last two years we have had an individual meeting to start the season off. 2014 - Morten testimonial 2015 - Billy Sanders meeting . The 3 seasons before that have opened with a meeting against Rye House

Very true there is enough people in the Witches set up who should know how to ride the track . Covatti was a star last year same from Castagna we could only hope but if improves and adds a 1-1.5 to his average providing everyone else is maintaining or improving their we could be in for a good season. King and Covatti - You would hope would at the very least maintain there average maybe a little more improvement from Covatti and break the 8 point mark. Risager and Kerr - Think Risager will stay around the same mark , think he's pretty much set in stone to be a 6.5-7 PL rider but Kerr as so many people have said "what will he be like after his big crash" who knows only he really knows but fingers crossed i can see him pushing on to over 7 maybe a 7.5 . Sarjent - Can see improvement in him what does he come in on 4.88 , well if he wants to push on think he needs to add a point maybe even touch the 6 point mark which at the end of last season he was doing and flying . Roll on March

I think this team can get us in the play offs for next year , something which we failed to do this year. Once your in the play offs anything can happen. Like the look of our top 5 hopefully King and Covatti will get some solid back up this year from Kerr , Risager and Sarjeant which as Baldy has said we will prob need as out reserve pair don;t look the strongest on paper. Castagna from what we saw at the 16 Lapper night he needs to up his game . Looked totally off the pace and didn't really set the world on fire at Sheffield last season. Hopefully his dad may be able to give him a few pointers on how to race Foxhall and of course he will have he Italian team mate Nico with him . Don't know what Ritchings is like so won't comment on him.

So if your saying that Buster's possible plan to make Thursday nights an elite league night then could that mean a return to the elite league for the Witches or a change of race in the future?
-
Pleased Kerr is staying a Witch !
-
That's a bit of a kick in the teeth for Kerr being dropped or was he given a choice. Still its a bouns for the Witches looking forward to seeing him in Witches colours next year.
-
Quick someone sort it before we end up with Tungate back !
-
Well if what I've read on other threads are correct u may get your wish. Hopefully it won't happen as thought it was a great signing for the Witches
-
Mmmm I don't like the sound of this .

Taken from speedway gb site IPSWICH have named former Witches rider Ritchie Hawkins as their new team manager. Hawkins raced for the club as recently as last season, when he lost his place midway through the campaign, but he has now been recruited to take charge by Director of Speedway Chris Louis. Said Louis: “Having discussed the position with a couple of people close to the club I decided to ask Ritchie to consider the role and frankly wasn’t at all sure what his view would be. I was delighted when his reaction was favourable and after a couple of days to consider his position, he accepted. “In fact, not only did he accept but he couldn’t hide his excitement and enthusiasm for the job. I know only too well just how tough the transition can be from racer to manager but Ritchie has all the credentials to do a great job.” http://www.speedwaygb.co/news.php?extend.29858

Riders coming out in pairs on the bikes mmmmm but what happens if Tungate and Auty are opposite numbers that could be fun !
-
Well if he does sign for Somerset the Witches won't have to worry about Tungate racking up big points when the Rebels visit .
-
Mortens meeting that was bloody cold that night coldest I've ever been at a speedway meeting. Was still thawing out the next day .
-
Lunna said in the SS a couple of months ago that he didn't know if he was going to be back in the UK as he struggled with all the travelling he was doing last season but may have changed his mind .
-
4-6 a meeting away from home you would be more than happy with that. Ok at home you would like to think once he gets used to the track it would be nearer to 6-8
-
As yet no team has signed him up from what i have read on here. Will do him good to get away from Foxhall this season providing he gets picked up by another team and has for once an injury free season
-
Well let's hope that when they prepare the track they give him that outside line of dirt that he likes .
-
Very true just got better and better as the season went on well apart from the injury. Nico will be pushing mid 8 in the averages . King and Covatti for the pairs title ?
-
Well that's good to know . If he can cut out the tapes infringements he could push on to 5.5 to 6 average in my eyes . Witches safely under the limit then .
-
If not Witches may have a problem !
-
Ok i've looked at the team and thought things for a while and yer i'm quite happy with it tbh. Danny King -You know what your gonna get from Danny tapes up and away he goes a true number one that will win heat 1 more times than not . Ok could look for his race partner at times but so be it go out and win them races Danny James Sarjeant - Yer happy with this one James looked good when guesting at foxhall last season , mind you better have plenty of spare tapes !! . Still young and learning but has got talent just needs a little control at the tapes. Lewis - Hoping he's fully recoverd and ready to go , was near on perfect when he came visiting with the Diamonds last season more of the same please Lewis Morten Risager- mmmmm yes i have moaned about Morten alot and yes from what i've seen loves the white line but in this team should be a solid 6-7 pointman . As a 2nd string will score plenty at foxhall Nico Covatti - Don't need to say anything . Paco Castagna, only saw him in 16 lapper and that was nothing to get excited about but hopefully with his pal Nico helping him he could add at least a point to his 3.33 average . A gamble maybe but with the top 4 we have was always going to be a long tail Darryl Ritchings, don't really know much about him at all but the poster SCB on here says good things about him he's got his chance so good luck to him show us what you can do lad.

Taken from Evening star online It is a team built on top-end power and Louis is happy with the side he has put together. “I guess the fact only two riders remain from last season’s team shows the disappointment I felt about our 2015 effort,” Louis said. “It is not a solid a 1-7 as I have put together in past seasons, but the top five is stronger and I don’t think it will take our reserves long to get up to speed. “Darryl Ritchings is as good a three-point National League rider as you will find – every club has to have one in their team. “This is a team that no-one will write-off before the season starts and is good enough to win the title. “Apart from anything else, it’s entertaining and full of racers. “My first thought was always to get Danny (King) and Nico (Covatti) back. And I’m glad they wanted to come back. “Morten Risager is a rider we all know well and will be our rock, especially at Foxhall, while I know Lewis Kerr can’t wait to get racing and is fully recovered from his crash last season. “James Sarjeant, Darryl Ritchings and Paco Castagna are all young talents. Paco has been signed on a full transfer from Sheffield and is now our asset. “I always start a new season positive and with the team I’ve put together for 2016, I very much do so again.” Ipswich Witches 2016: Danny King, Nico Covatti, Lewis Kerr, Morten Risager, James Sarjeant, Paco Castagna and Darryl Ritchings.
