  1. Ouch that was a really nasty looking one. Air Fence did its job there .
  2. Bacon , Black pudding , Mushroom and brown sauce sandwich now that's a great breakfast to start the day !
  3. Showers now over the NW of Ipswich don't look like they will come to much . 5 mins of rain and it's stopped .
  4. I would have to say the Scotsman must be a fully paid member of the Paco Castagna fan club ?
  5. Wow Macca56 I bet you must have some stories to tell about speedway that you must have collected over the years . JL is in my eyes Ipswich speedway , my 1st memory of speedway is on JL IN his orange and black leathers. As a 5 year old at the end of the 70's being taken up to the track on the bus by my mum. Dad used to work on the track with his mate normally on the 3rd bend and myself and my mum would meet him up there . He told of the time a race that Billy was in a race a rider went down close to the inside of the track and they were trying to help the rider and machine off the track . Billy had already been about half a lap ahead when the rider went down and as he came roaring down the back straight the bike they were trying to clear off the track locked and they narrowly missed clearing it in time before Billy in one smooth motion switched his line and came past so close my dad said he could have smelt his aftershave . Apparently they all laughed about it in the pits afterwards.
  6. Go the book at Christmas thought it was a very good read loved it .
  7. With the LC semi now out of the Witches reach its a bit of a dead rubber really , but hey its a chance to watch some speedway ! Pressure is off Sheffield now so will they be taking it a bit easier ? Witches will be looking to gain some pride following a narrow loss on Thursday at Sheffield . Another Saturday home meeting for the Witches lets hope the weather is kind . Witches by 10
  8. Just under a 100 days till the race of is due to take place . Surely they will be ready , wont they ?
  9. From what i have been reading on the Elite Pages seems like they had to completely dig up bends 3 and 4 and start all over again . It seems they are still struggling to get it right. Below was posted on their website . During the course of the remedial works being carried out by the stadium contractors to Turns Three and Four, further defects have been exposed which require further attention and this has extended the work program. Belle Vue Speedway have therefore confirmed that their National League fixture against Coventry, which they were hoping to stage on Sunday April 24th, together with the Elite League meeting Belle Vue v Poole scheduled for Wednesday 27th April will not take place. These meeting will be rescheduled. Further details will follow.
  10. Ok so we have moaned that we've only had two home meeting's so far this season , just read that they have cancelled yet more meeting at the new Bell Vue track . So we are short of a little dirt on our track at least we have a track that can be ridden .
  11. The situation is really getting beyond a joke now . This all singing all dancing brand new stadium and still yet to run a single meeting there. Feel for the Bell Vue fans who have yet to see there team race at home . Was moaning about being a Witches fan and only having two home meetings so far this season but at least i have seen them ride at home . The Bell Vue promotion must cringe every time the phone rings expecting more bad news about the track .
  12. Have read a few of the comments , not a happy bunch at Coventry alot of them seem to want him out .
  13. You taking about the Sheffield or Ipswich track , We aint seen alot of dirt at Foxhall yet either !
  14. Well thought that someone would have started a thread for this match by now seeing its only 1 day away . A match the Witches must not lose if they want to progress any further in the League Cup , a win for Sheffield and they win the group and the place in the League Cup Semi-finals . Can't really see the Witches gaining any points from this meeting with them needing at the very least a draw but don't think that will happen . Sheffield by 8-10
  15. Oh so your in that massive big blackish cloud i can see in the distance heading from Stowmarket area . Hope that misses us
  16. Yup as we thought , just had it confirmed on twitter from @ipswichspeedway , rain off tickets from the abandoned (If you can call it that seeing how we didn't even get going ) are valid for entry for tonight's meeting.
  17. Forecast from various sites seem to be changing with each hour that goes by , don't think they have a clue really
  18. Just checked BBC Weather and Met Office for latest weather . Both saying Today:Many places dry to start, just a scattering of showers and some brightness. Heavy, slow-moving showers are likely to develop more widely after midday, some heavy with a risk of hail and thunder. Warm sunny spells in between the showers. Maximum Temperature17 °C. BBC Weather have also issued this current weather warning about an hour ago Heavy showers and thunderstorms are expected to break out on Thursday afternoon. Not everywhere will see these, but where they do occur, be aware of localised impacts from hail and lightning, as well as heavy rain producing standing water on roads and reduced visibility. The showers will slowly die out on Thursday evening. Current weather Blue Sky and Sunshine Fingers crossed the showers miss us or stay away all together
  19. TBH looking at the program ahead of him on Sat he didn't really have much other option with the way we were riding . It was a bold choice that didn't work ,
  20. Taken from met office Thursday:Any fog soon clearing to give a dry start with some sunny spells. However, the odd shower is likely by afternoon, these becoming heavy and thundery in places later. Maximum Temperature 15 °C.
  21. Forecast weather for this one looks up and down all week so could be another week without a home meeting for the Witches is the rain does not stay away. In light of recent performances of both teams i think the Witches could be in for a right battle from the visiting Panthers . With only Nico Covatti showing any sign of form right now the Panthers must be rubbing there hands together in anticipation of this one Will the Witches be able to cast a spell over there East Anglia rivals or will the Panthers have to much bite ?
  22. Couldn't of put it better Shads, as long as they turn and put effort in and show willing people can forget low scores sometimes. We were totally out classed last night Nico apart thank god he was there or this would have been a cricket score. Can't complain with the effort Richings and Paco put it last night .
  23. What's the latest weather forecast at the track ?
