  1. The 'Tru7.com' Witches play host to the Workington Comets at Foxhall on Thursday as the race for the play-offs hots up (7.30pm). It's been a busy start to the month for the Witches; after a draw at Sheffield Ritchie Hawkins' side hammered Scunthorpe at Foxhall last week before heading on a northern tour last weekend. A battling point was earned at Workington on the Saturday before a disappointing defeat at Glasgow on the Sunday. The Witches currently occupy the last play-off spot but with teams like Workington and Newcastle below and with meetings in hand Director of Speedway Chris Louis has said the team need a perfect end to the season to stand a chance of making it. The Comets are one of those teams chasing the Witches but they will be without Kenneth Hansen for Thursday's clash due to his Swedish play-off commitments. Rider Replacement will be used in his absence. The Comets recorded a two point win over the Witches in Cumbria last weekend but the Witches must ensure the Comets go home with nothing to keep their play-off hopes alive. Louis says the team go into the meeting with confidence high after a string of good home performances. "I think the run of four home meetings was what we could have done with at the start of the season to be honest, we had a very sporadic fixture list at the start of the season," said Louis. "Looking back that didn't do us any favours but it wasn't designed to be that way. With the team we had that was the best we could do. "The run of home meetings has given them a lot of confidence though and I don't see Workington being any different. We were a match for them at their own track so I'd be disappointed if we weren't at home! In this league you can't take anything for granted, we've seen so many odd results that you just can't believe so we will have to be at our best. " Louis believes that the Comets are only weakened slightly by the absence of Hansen. "They are without Kenneth Hansen which I think makes them weaker because in the last few weeks he has been in a rich vein of form. His Foxhall form might not have been as good but they've got Claus (Vissing) who is an ex-Witch that can take a ride but I think that will hit them a little bit but not too much." Despite confidence being high at Foxhall Louis knows that anything can happen in the Premier League and the Suffolk side need to be at their best. "You can't bank on anything, no one would have thought Scunthorpe would go to Peterborough and win. We can't assume that we'll win because Workington's away form hasn't been very good because at some point they will win one because everyone has. We have to make sure that it doesn't happen on our patch because we can't afford to drop any points home or away which isn't impossible but it'll be tough." With the school holidays in full swing our summer promotion continues as KIDS GO FREE to all of our summer meetings! Prior to the meeting fans will have the chance to meet Morten Risager who will be up by the turnstiles inside the stadium with his bike for fans to have photos with. Morten will be signing autographs from 6.45pm until around 7.10pm. Ipswich 'Tru7.com' Witches: 1. Danny King © 8.86 2. James Sarjeant 5.13 3. Nico Covatti 7.52 4. Morten Risager 6.73 5. 2. Could make the racing very interesting !
  3. Yes he certainly is . Maybe as people having been saying getting rid of the Jawa engine has helped . If we somehow squeeze into the play offs I don't think anyone will want to ride against his right now .
  4. Or even had this team to start the season with averages allowing of course
  5. Another one tomorrow. I think we could get even more tomorrow.
  6. Yes indeed there seems to be a few more with each passing week its great , apologies to all the knitting zombies that may have moved on to other pastures i have nothing against them each to there own and i'm sure they still enjoy their night out in their own way . People now know what our little group is about and its great they want to come and join us , its a shame that as a club we don't have more rival clubs alot nearer to us as away matches could be rather fun. Please note away fans to whoever may be visiting Foxhall your more than welcome to come over and join us as well come join the fun just make sure you bring your instruments of noise with you !
  7. Your welcome Lucifer Sam (Rob) its always nice when visiting supporters come and say hello to our madcap bunch BSF Massif Well back to the meeting and yes as others have said was a bit stop start stop start all night due to the falls and over eagerness at the taped by some . As Rob has said good news that there was no lasting damage to any of the faller's last night maybe just a bit of dented pride . Racing well it was ok alot of gate and go last night but at the end of it history with show the Witches picked up 3 points in their slim outside chance of the play offs . Hume for all his willingness needs maybe to calm things a bit . Yes we can all see he is keen to impress his new employers and its been a sharp rise in a short space of time for him but he needs to maybe just ease off a bit . There is enough older wiser heads in the pits these days for the Witches maybe some of them could take him to one side and give this clearly talented young rider a few words of advise . Have to say thou he did brilliantly in laying down his bike as quick as he did when Douglas went down in front of him . Good to see the riders out in the crowd for the Ben Fund Collection and well done to the crowd on the collected sum of £1658.84 . With each passing meeting its nice to see the riders coming round more after each race to show there thanks to the supporting crowd , and a nice moment from Ben Barker who stopped right in front of the BSF Massif last night to give us a salute thank you Ben your acknowledgement is very warmly received . Crowd levels are looking good ok summer hols are probably helping this but there is a feel good factor within the crowd with the whistles and various other noise instruments making appearances throughout the crowd , it seems our own way of showing support to the Witches from the BSF Massif is rubbing off on a few more supporters each week .Still plenty of seats around the BSF Massif corner to be filled by anyone who wants to , Mr Long seems to have taken a liken to our little group but maybe he only comes over to visit us on the back straight for the promise of more pick 'n' mix from 2ndbendBeerhuts sweet tub . Yes we are noisy and rather mad at times on the whole but we're having fun and i put this out to any fellow Witches supports out there bring your instruments make some noise let show this team we are behind them and carry on this feel good factor around the stadium .
  8. We all sit in the back straight stand directly opposite the start line . As Badge has said you will probably hear us way before you see us .
  9. Yes Macca , i will be back tonight and bringing my two terrors with me to add to the musical noisefest as brought to you by the BSF Massif
  10. So the overnight rain that someone had earlier said about has came and went , that will save you a bit on the water bill CL. Weather looking ok for the rest of the day maybe an odd shower still hanging around this morning but otherwise dry for the rest of the day and looking at around a pleasant 17c-20c later on for the meeting .
  11. Ah good fun . Went there years ago with lads holiday . Two nights later we ran into the guy who was playing Blackbeard and couple other from the show . Mad night and most of the next day.
  12. So who out of the Massif is going to be missing this week ? after missing the Plymouth meeting i'll be back in attendance armed with a few horns many thanks to Beerhut for getting them .
  13. Its all it takes a little bit of marketing on something as HUGE as Facebook could go a very long way . The Power of social media these days is unreal . Just seen on the website that Ben Barker and one of his bikes will be at the turnstiles at 6.45pm to 7.10pm to sign autographs and have photos taken .
  14. Plus your mum don't let you go to far when its dark !
  15. No far from it wouldn't have changed the result but it seems to be all the little things like this that make the rules and regulations of this sport a joke . Mickey Mouse springs to mind , what hope have we got for this sport to move on
  16. Well if we have let you in Scotsman a bonifide Edinburgh supporter we have to let Sue in , pretty sure thats her 1st team correct me if i'm wrong Sue ?
  17. Ok so hearing that Garrity was wearing number 5 last night but was programmed to ride at 4 . So can someone explain if this was the case why he wasn't excluded or sent back to the pits to get it changed , surely this is the same sort of thing as having the wrong helmet colour on ?
  18. 2 points tonight good team performance from the Witches. Sounds like Garrity has come back full of fire from his lay off .
  19. After 4 wins at home on the trot gotta make the boys want more . Can we get anything from this ?
  20. Come on Witches keep the season alive and get a win .
  21. What club wouldn't want another club close to them to give both clubs local a local Derby . The closeness of local clubs can only be a benefit to both clubs extra people through the gate when the two clubs meet and the added spice in the stands its all good fun . Look what its doing to this thread days after the match and people still hurling banter back and forwards great fun. As for the Panto villain when Danny Ayers round at foxhall last month after his heat 2 victory he was all arms pumping and that but rest of the night was pretty poor which the Ipswich BSF Massif took great delight in letting him know . But fast forward a couple of weeks and Danny was guesting for us against Peterborough it must have been in the back on his mind as he was brilliant for us and the BSF and crowd gave him a great acknowledgement for it . Sport needs local derby's and Hero's and Villians no matter what sport it is , it all adds to the fun and enjoyment .
