  1. That would have been a cause to celebrate , can't really remember much celebrating from those two that night
  2. That's modern Technology your taking about there Macca , something that speedway knows nothing about sadly to say . Its a shame as if there was some sort of internet service where set up as a pay per view it would be great .
  3. Firstly Poole and Wolverhampton thank you for giving us fans a great meeting. As a neutral fan I can't ask for any more than that . A meeting that looked all over for Poole early on but a great fight back by them or should I say a great fight back by their reserves.Ellis and Newman you should be very proud of yours efforts tonight. With out you two Poole could have been embarrassed. Some very good racing tapes exclusions a few dodgy calls from the ref only added to the tension on the night . With 4 races to go I still would have been able to call a winner. Great night for Wolverhampton not so much for Poole . Thanks to both teams for a excellent nights tv viewing.
  4. I thought you Scots were a hardly lot compared to us southern softies ?
  5. So now that Ayers is riding how does that effect the line up ? Anyone know ?
  6. Would be good to have a track that riders want to attack. Racing not been the best at times this season .
  7. Somerset !!! track ready for tungate to come back next year then
  8. Surely even we can't blow that lead can we lol. If we do get through Somerset will be a lot harder even with the loss of BWD if the reports are true . Looked good at foxhall earlier in the season. Speedy recovery BWD
  9. Well that last night was probably the best home performance all season from the Witches yes we have had bigger wins this season at home but that was against and i don't mean any disrespect to any teams so called lesser teams who didn't make the play offs . The Witches wanted that last night and wanted to build a lead as we all know we aint the best at Edinburgh . Before the meeting i think any Witches fan out there would have bitten your arm off if they had been offered a lead of about 12-14 , but if you had of said you would be 26 points up after the home leg they would have asked what are you smoking ! And it could have been an even bigger lead , i can count 2-3 times when we were sitting on a 5-1 only for us to let it slip because of a mistake or a fall but i can't complain at any of the boys effort from last night . D King - Captain fantastic leading from the front piling on the points and yet another max at home . Gave Masters a head start in heat 13 and still got him . Did need a little help from Covatti but more on that in a minute . J Sargeant - Looked like he need that 1st race after his injury but after that flying N Covatti - Best performance from him all season . Very hard move on Masters in Heat 15 to dive up the inside and move him out wide allowing King through on bends 3-4 . Hard but fair well must have been other wise the Ref could have excluded him . M Risager - Solid scoring from Marmite , B Barker - Not as spectacular as recent weeks but giving great support to the team and always the 1st to get the crowd going . J Jacobs - Still looking like he is struggling with his illness but won the important heat 2 and could of had another win had he not made a mistake while leading. C Coles - Well anyone looking at the score card will see 3 paid 4 from 4 rides but that dont tell the story . Have seen this young lad a few times this season at Mildenhall and did think then he looks useful . Ok think i could be wrong about him . Wow this kid can gate , lighting away from the tapes and not afraid to run the outside line at the start either . If not for lets say some young exuberance could have been paid for alot more . Fell twice when in 2nd following his team mate and had a great race with Wolbert to follow home Barker . Could see he was gutted after he threw some points away in one race , dont worry Connor you did yourself proud last night and in a few years to come i think we could be seeing alot more of you in the Witches colours . Good meeting if you were a Witches fan but not so much if your an Edinburgh supporter , fair play to the Scotsman ( even with his Scottish hat on ) who was sitting with the rest of the BSF Massif last night he took it on the chin and said we were the worry winners and that we should go through to the next round . Hopefully the lead built up will be enough over the two legs .
  10. Didn't expect that but more than happy . Edinburgh were poor apart from Masters and Mark Riss who gave it a go . Fisher well as NL rider made you look very silly tonight.
  11. Putting himself in the shop window for next season ? Has really got going in the past month
  12. Current weather in Ipswich lots of cloud and currently about 15c. Today: It will be rather cloudy at times with a few showers possible - but some sunny spells too. It will feel warm in the sunshine. Maximum Temperature 20 °C. Tonight: Staying dry with light winds, cloud continuing to break giving some clear skies. It will feel cool overnight, with temperatures falling into single figures, especially in rural areas. Minimum Temperature 8 °C. Taken from Met Office . Would love to see the Witches progress further what Witches fan wouldn't but if things don't go our way surely we need some sort of meeting to finish off the season .
  13. Jacobs looking well off the pace tonight at Lakeside. Someone said he's been suffering with flu ? Looks like his still suffering if that was the case .
  14. Still better than the headline "Panthers make the play offs " oh but there is no chance of that headline happening this season .
  15. Same problem for us Blobby , losing Hume has weakened us at the tailend as well . Hopefully the Witches can come away with a 14+ lead , hopeful but i think we need it when we visit your place .
  16. Taken from the Ipswich Website The 'Tru7.com' Witches begin the Premier League Play-Offs with a Quarter-Final first leg tie against reigning champions the Edinburgh Monarchs at Foxhall on Thursday (7.30pm). A fantastic second half to the campaign has seen the Witches rise up the table and storm into the top six to secure their place in the end of season drama. The Suffolk side come up against an Edinburgh side who have won the title the previous two years and who finished fourth in the league this time around. The Witches welcome back Joe Jacobs to the side after illness and James Sarjeant has declared himself fit to ride. At the time of writing the management are working hard to find the best possible guest at number seven to cover for the injured Danyon Hume. We will update the team news as soon as we receive it. The Scottish side are led by Australian Sam Masters who is one of the league's top performers and represented Australia in this year's World Cup. USA star Ryan Fisher rides at number two with German Kevin Wolbert completing a strong top three. The Monarchs also have doubts at number seven with Dan Bewley facing a race against time to be fit after his recent spell on the sidelines. The Witches will hope to take a big advantage to Armadale for the second leg but the Monarchs will be a tough nut to crack and only lost by three points at Foxhall earlier in the season. Team Manager Ritchie Hawkins wants his side to carry on their good form and build a good lead to take north of the border. "We need to carry on our own good form and ride the way he have been," said Hawkins. "We need to build as big a lead as possible and try and make life easier but I believe we should do well in both legs. We want a good solid performance on Thursday like we have been doing at home the last two months." The boss says he will not approach the meeting any differently and adds he has confidence in his side to get a result. "Everyone has been under a lot of pressure to win meetings and get us in the Play-Offs but we just want to carry on our good form because we've been riding so well. In a sense we are underdogs in the Play-Offs because we were written off a long time ago. We're in very good form and we are confident so we will go out there and do our thing and we are capable of getting a very good result. " Hawkins is aware of the test his side face against the champions but believes the Witches' form stands them in good stead to defeat the Monarchs. "They are the reigning champions and won't want to lose that title easily but I think we are coming into the Play-Offs in the best form that I've known at the club since I have been involved. We've built up well to this and we need to concentrate on ourselves and if we ride to our abilities I think we will be fine." KIDS GO FREE to this huge meeting and there will be a display of 'Classic Witches Race Jackets' prior to the meeting. Ipswich 'Tru7.com' Witches: 1. Danny King © 9.38 2. James Sarjeant 5.45 3. 17. I would have to agree with Scotsman , think Big Ben would be a worthy winner as he seems to have really got into the spirit of things with us lot on the back straight . Think all the points Scotsman said are very valid mind you very surprising he likes any rider that has ever ridden for Glasgow or Peterborough or both in this case , Big Ben must feel very honored !
  18. That was not nice . Nasty crash and now seeing that pic ouch. Unlucky Anders wishing you a speedy recovery
