  1. Well done speedybee, I have just joined the Facebook group, I see some old friends on there, which is great to see. My Dad received his hand delivered letter in Woodlands Road yesterday morning. There is a map on the back of the letter with an arrow pointing to the stadium, so definitely no confusion with the former garden centre site. I think we need to start a petition against this planning action for all fans to sign before the end of the season, like others have said we need to do everything we can here.
  2. Coventry web site now updated. Whenever this fixture takes place in no way should Harris, Garrity or any Coventry rider be guesting, absolutely crazy in my view, how can this be allowed.
  3. In my opinion this decision is fair considering the age of the riders involved. I was there and witnessed the on track events and subsequent disorder on the Rugby bend, although from a distance as I was in the upper stand bar. I had a clear view of the start line. I believe the start marshall should have been stronger and not allowed Greaves to stay in the position where he infringed on gate one. The referee was also weak and should not have allowed the start when all was not right and tensions were high. These young riders were ultimately let down by some of those around them who as elders should have known better and defused the situation rather than get involved as aggressors. Yes its easy to say, but I have experience in this area and have seen similar situations before. Like others have said, I hope these young riders learn from this which I am sure they will. I have the utmost respect for Tony Gillias a man who is best placed with life experience and a speedway background to oversee these proceedings.
  4. Where has this link with Jason Garrity and Wolves come from ? I spoke with him at Coventry recently and he knows nothing about it, and is more then happy at Coventry.
  5. I would have thought a good offer to young Max Fricke might be a good idea. With Morris in the team, Rosco could bring both riders on for sure, however, I suspect Mick Horton and Havvy may be looking at bringing him to Coventry. Whatever happens, a fantastic young rider for the future, reminded me of Shamek in the play off final 2010.
  6. Well done Coventry Bees, what a performance, all the riders chipped in but Howarth and Fricke rode out their skin. The team spirit looked good, its looking like another Coventry v Poole final, can't wait, but hopefully not with another winter of discontent after the Bees win! Another mid week San Miguel for me to finish an excellent night. Feel sorry for the Swindon fans, but clearly the track conditions helped Coventry.
  7. Not a good warm up for Bomber and Hans Andersen in the Czech Golden Helmet today. I really hope they can both ride well tomorrow and lead from the front for Coventry, I have reservations about Andersen if I am honest, has not looked anything like his best in the last few meetings. I have bought a box of San Miguel for this one to calm the nerves! I also think Peter Kildemand is awesome, cant help but like the guy, I wish he was a Coventry rider like he should have been. May the best team win, and all stay safe.
  8. The track looked a little tricky in the first 3 races but then after grading improved. There was a training day at Coventry prior to this meeting and this may have played a part in late preparation / watering. I agree with comments on the programme, £2.00 for 2 x A4 sheets, absolute rip off in my opinion, Mick Horton should sort this out as this does put supporters off and was certainly subject of conversation in my group of 7 supporters. I thought James Sarjeant was in a class of his own tonight backed up by an impressive showing by Dan Greenwood. A agree with ABBO in his post. I look forward to Monday!
  9. I have an early start so in brief, well done Coventry, Swindon are a solid team with 5 riders who regularly go well around Coventry, so any advantage is a fantastic result. I was pleased with a solid performance from most of the team and it was good to see Kenneth go well developing real speed especially deep in the Coventry turn. I thought James Sarjeant was brilliant for 6 points, and his lay down in heat 2 showed incredible reaction time. It was also good to see Greaves acknowledge Sarjeant after his race win. I was disappointed with Hans, he has looked slow the last 2 meetings and lacked sharpness out the gate. I like Aron Summers, but think Robbo would have been the better choice if eligible, the track would have suited him for sure. Can't wait for next week, well done Coventry!
  10. Stuart is a racer, he always does well on a track with grip and dirt, furthermore he does not moan he gets on with it and does his best. Like I say, after the Stock Car event, the track was as good as you could expect. We have all seen the track a lot worse earlier in the season. It will be interesting to see the surface on Monday, hopefully it will provide some good racing, the last thing we need is a slick gate and go type of track.
  11. I was in the upper stand bar and had an excellent view of the whole on track incident. It all started on the start line as others have said, the start marshal tried to put some distance between Sarjeant and Greaves and both riders had words. Greaves did not move and infringed on gate one. The referee allowed the race to start and there were elbows into the first corner. Greaves clearly turned left on Sarjeant on the home straight resulting in the race being stopped at the time when Sarjeant pulled up. Greaves was excluded for DANGEROUS riding. Both riders had words and Greaves clearly attacked Sarjeant throwing punches. Sarjeant rides off, turns and rides at Greaves and kicks his bike over. Greaves chases Sarjeant on foot off the track, Sarjeant knocks an official over. Others get involved on the Rugby bend, and to be honest, I could not see exactly what happened from where I was standing, but it looked very ugly with a number of people getting involved. I was stood with Coventry and Cradley supporters in the bar, and there were no problems whatsoever. I spoke with Cradley supporters and there was no friction or ill feeling between fans. This was simply a situation that got out of hand. I do agree with others that the referee could have acted earlier and perhaps this would not have happened.
  12. Considering the World Stock Car championship was held at Coventry over last week end, the track was in great condition. I spoke with Stuart Robson after the meeting and he was happy with his paid 17 haul! I also spoke with Jason Garrity, he knows nothing about his so called wish to ride for Wolverhampton, and is more than happy at Coventry. I suspect the track will be a little deeper on the outside on Monday, but tonight there was nothing wrong considering how it was left 5 days ago.
  13. Bournemouth Echo reported on 18th September 2014, that Poole main 2014 sponsor Coastal Aluminium are set to go into liquidation, sad news, we need local businesses in speedway. Does anyone have any more news on this ?
