Sad to hear about Dennis Jonsson. I know he signed at the start of the year but hadn't heard anything since. Be interesting to see if Nicholls does go to Lakeside and I completely forgot Kim Nilsson who could be an improver on his average. So, Jonsson, Nilsson and Nicholls the spine with whoever fits in I suppose.

Where are all the Lakeside fans on this forum? 2 pages worth of talk so far and you have to add on another 50 to where Poole 2017 is at the moment. Ok I will add some input on what I think Lakeside should be doing. First riders they should sign are Adam Ellis and Paul Starke. Both were magnificent when Poole registered their only defeat and will give Lakeside good away options also if they swap them at 2 and 6. Ellis is an asset and doubt Leicester will ride Elite League. Than obviously Andreas Jonsson and possible Edward Kennett being the spine of the team so it may look something like: 1) A Jonsson 2) A Ellis 3) E Kennett 4) Swiderski/Schlein? 5) R Lawson 6) P Starke 7) J Auty? Looks solid enough but perhaps unlikely to be the team and maybe Lakeside will want to use last years No 8 Dennis Jonsson was it? Another question is will Lewis Bridger be there instead of Ellis or someone else?

It also states 'he shall be considered ineligible for the FIM SGP for the remainder of the season'. 1) It is not definitely ineligible if 'he shall be considered ineligible' presumably by the rulemakers who are the only ones with power of authority to 'consider' ineligibility. 2) 'For the remainder of the season' surely means no further rides. As he walked out, he was given no score for those last couple of rides and as there are no GPs remaining, he cannot be excluded from anymore as there are none to compete in. 3) I am pretty sure to disqualify a rider for walking out of a meeting after he has already won the World Championship would lack common sense and I can't see any rule being devised to take away a title for not riding the last two rides of the last meeting. Say for example any rider..it was his first world title with two heats to go. He was a young rider who was over the moon and just got the bumps with his home crowd going wild and throws his helmet, gloves and perhaps his leathers into the crowd out of sheer joy but has no idea of no rulings and realised he couldn't ride his last heat or two because he had thrown his belongings to the crowd with the title bagged. Does that mean this rider who doesn't or cannot ride with no gear on (probably another rule but won't go into depth) lose his world title through a passionate moment of joy. Common sense would say it would be stupid to give the title to the second place rider.

I see your point but I would be suprised if Wolves started with this team regardless. I would say Harris comes in to replace Woffinden. Perhaps a similar line up to last year with Lindgren Howarth Harris Musielak Thorsell Clegg Another Cradley rider? Or alternatively you could use Masters or Kylmakorpi for a heat leader. Wolves have a lot of options to have a solid outfit unlike Kings Lynn.

It's actually more in regards to financial improvement than on track as there isn't a nig difference between riding in the EL than the PL except for an out an out number one like Jonsson or Holder who you are unlikely to beat, so your racing the same riders i.e Cook, Lambert, Tungate etc so there isn't much to learn. The only way they can learn on track is if they ride abroad where shale and track size is different. The point of them riding in two leagues is financials and maybe slightly set up education. I think Adam Ellis has made a really smart move riding National and Elite League because winning races gives you confidence and greater financial rewards and he has taken that NL form and kept it going with his EL form.

I think you have missed the point on EDR. My thoughts were it's about rider progession and improvement. That doesn't mean one or two seasons of a rider putting a point on his average but it also helps any young British riders to step to the next level and try and get to ride constantly abroad. Why just throw a load of young riders like Bewley and Branford into the deepend where they are not going to make the money especially riding against riders like Bjarne Pedersen for example. Isn't this the point of the Premier League is to nurture this type of rider as soon as they have got out of the National League otherwise what is the point of a Premier League. Besides, I agree with Gater1 and say most these riders going to an odd track like Lakeside or Wolves would hardly manage a point and than you have the money teams buying the better reserves in like Poole etc and that's 9 rides x 2 without a point especially if your replaced by the other slightly better reserve. I think it's good for riders like Paul Starke and Josh Auty to keep progressing financially as well rather than struggling for points in No 2 and 4 slots.

Basically this post puts this topic to bed. Plus also even if Gregory's points were deducted from the meeting due to whatever, he would still be champion. I think even it went to a kangaroo court it would be laughed out of court and also.....who is going to appeal because knowing Tai Woffinden, he won't appeal against his friend and he would want to win the title fair and square knowing his honest ethics.
-
I am suprised you even responded to be honest as this is more of a wind up than Beadles About. One rose tinted Wolves fan who is desperate for Tai to win against a host of common sense posters. I would love to see Tai win too BWitcher but this really is taking the biscuit now and you have had the bite to be fair.

When did Tai Woffinden and Freddie Lindgren and half the field in the ELRC all become National League riders?

Wildcards 2017.....
Joe Beevers replied to Panthers89's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I never think the selectors pick the best four until last year which I just about agreed on. This next year is a tricky one also because I would think you have to pick Zagar and Janowski as they both missed out by one point, but you have Sayfutdinov who now wants a place along with Nicki Pedersen who was out injured for a few meetings and only one Dane plus Jarek Hampel who in my opinion like Sayfutdinov should really go for through the qualifying system. I cannot see anyone else unless Pedersen doesn't get the pick and someone younger like Kildemand or Jespen Jensen is picked but I think its finally goodbye to AJ and Harris. -
Susans1 you said you were going to put a 200 bet on I thought, telling wee porkies. No seriously very well done to the winner and the only other finisher Anzum for getting third place. Thank you so much to racersandroyals and hopefully we will be next year to climb up the rostrum. As for philipsr, well I cannot hear you complaining up here when you're all the way down there at the bottom of the leaderboard.

Interesting timing as well as father Brian has stepped down from Redcar so I presumed Gary might go there but would appear not. Wonder if Brian will be part of the Bandits consortium.
-
I think Rohan Tungate looks a possible improver on his average for next season. Wonder if he will stay at Swindon. I am not sure who owns him but I would guess Ipswich.
-
Can you please direct me to the one topic where people don't mind Poole, because I really don't want to end up on the 'can't stand them' group like Gavan or hagonshocker because I do not like rose tinted debates.
-
In my opinion though, it's not a barometer that I would use. The problem is, is that UK shale and track shaping is totally bizarre to the majority of Johnny Foreigners and most take a year or two to get going. Even Tony Rickardsson I think struggled at first going to Poole from memory. Gregory Laguta didn't pull any trees up riding in the SWC to say he was a 9.67 rider around Belle Vue and the same as Lindback at 9.03. Granted they were riding against tougher opposition but still, I could see Joe Jacobs beating them around there. Also Marcin Nowak on over 6.03 scored one point in the Blue Riband. Vaclav Milik also I doubt should be ahead of Iversen, Holder and Kasprzak in the averages around the UK....even Harris. These riders need to be assessed on sensible averages i.m.o and weighted averages should only be used in the case of what SCB has done with the EL averages.
-
Interesting post immediately above this post in regards to non EL riders averages but most of those averages seem quite high don't they? Gregory Laguta 9.67 and also Antonio Lindback found one meeting tough here and he is handed a 9.03? Another point is coming back to the quote I have highlighted from SCB in regards to Kenneth Bjerre and his average. His last average should be 6.43 but if he came in on that weighted 'international' figure he would be 7.75. Interesting reading though.

Max Clegg. Unknown conference rider last year and wins the U19s,CLRC and the Elite League title. I don't think any rider in the world can say they had a better year than him thanks to EDR.

I am sorry if I have wrongly accused you Susans1/John but I did read all the posts and you only had posted once before you atarted this competition and with the things said by both, it just completly adds up to a second alias. I am still rather confused but I wish that mickthemuppet had stopped spouting out pointless drivel and I would have been none the wiser but racers was right to point it out from reading the posts but you have come across humbly so I forgive and well done for winning. Shame you can't teach your friend about forum etiquette. Pot, kettle black with your so called 5000 pound donation bluff. I don't believe a word you say but fortunately I believe Susans1. Your aggressive posts tarnish any good reputation that you had and if it was my competition, you would not be allowed to enter.
-
Well if that really is the case, as I have just read post 29 and the other posts that sort of make me headscratch, surely Susans1 is disqualified from the competition for using two aliases to win this as mickthemuppet already bet and went out. Why did mickthemuppet refer to Susans1 as a 'he' as he said 'he is a ringer and ugly too' but than later said why are Susans1 and Joe Beevers betting small amounts with large leads like talking about Susans1 in another context and than Susans1 replying like she has never met him before and now they are friends. Oh come on, seriously? Cheating in a fun comp? Can't be or is this a weird wind up. Another thing is, why would mickthemuppet keep posting in this topic when he was eliminated early. Everyone else disappeared or said good luck to everyone. Why would he still be here?

Where on earth did you dig up this nonsensical quote? Absolute rubbish but obviously nothing personal. Do I have to educate people now, why the E.U was REALLY formed. Well that is a huge blow towards my toast in the mornings. I personally think you should stick to speedway figures rather than financial ones. I don't think I have ever met one person over the age of 21, who believes your financially better off to give someone money to live under their roof rather than pay towards your own place. It's not just the house but it's the land that you actually own and that land is a huge asset that you can build your own allotments on, pass down to loved ones or generations or even just sell to some golf course developer. Entirely your business and opinion but each to there own.

Perhaps he was taking the picture.
