  1. Did John Louis come in for someone who was injured as he was reserve for the meeting. I would have said: 1) Craven 2) Loram 3) Lee 4) Jessup 5) Collins 6) Carter 7) Havelock 8) Wigg 9) Simmons 10) Boocock beats Screen in a run off. But in reality, Andy Smith always won British Finals at Brandon so would have easily beaten this whole field in his peak with a 15 point maximum. But he fell and got injured in his first ride.
  2. Post of the year for me and it nearly had me in tears. Join the debate about Hans' average! What debate? You screaming at Gater saying 'Oh no he won't get that average over my dead body' etc. 'Oh yes he will' 'Oh no he won't' And then you turn around and say why don't you debate with me if you have the intellect too. Careful you don't burst a vessel debating so intellectually and who knows, you may even get an invitational post from College Uxbridge to go on University Challenge. Lets all talk about Chris Harris maybe riding for Poole and if he may or may not exceed his average and spend another 20 pages doing it. So far Adam Ellis, Kyle Newman and Hans Andersen have been covered enough to attain more bandwidth usage than the rest of the 8 other Premiership teams put together.
  3. Well that could be very true, but his riding misdemeanour did look very, I am not enjoying speedway and just going through the motions so perhaps it was more 'off track' problems than on.
  4. That is why the top riders averages should have been capped at 12. 13.70 makes no sense and is the worst thing to come out of the AGM that was reasonably positive. Danny King is riding for Kings Lynn next season I read somewhere and I maybe wrong but I cannot see Fricke and Garrity increasing or even maintaining there average in my opinion.
  5. Looks a solid lineup. The only question mark is will Troy Batchelor be there as he really did not enjoy last season there.
  6. Sounds like Darcy Ward has been caught or had a post misinterpreted on Twitter. It isn't the first time he has said the wrong thing on Twitter including the Nicki Pedersen statement and the Tai comment. I think Darcy should quit Twitter and I am fortunate enough never to have read or been on that site being a grown up adult. Those sites can easily misinterpret any given sentance.
  7. I have stated what I know in my post. I am not a member of the BSPA. Why is the sky blue? You haven't contributed any facts against this and I am highlighting a statement made on the thread. For all I know, Donald Trump could have intervened at the AGM and made the rules up. So that is two posts. Love to know where you gentleman are getting your hearsay from. I will hold my opinion firm as already stated.
  8. Talking of Jack P, I bet his phone is more crammed with calls than Kim Kardashian's is. And no wonder. Look at the result of the last meeting between Eastbourne vs Birmingham. Jack P Blackburn scores 19. Gets a 2 point average Adam Ellis scores 12. Gets a 7.8+ average. As has been said and you cannot argue the point that Ellis did score a lot of his points from the number two slot. But this shows the value of signing Jack P Blackburn.
  9. Really? Can I visage 10 grown men sat in circle saying 'Oh and onto the next case, case 243 of this long day is the so called average of Adam Ellis. Shall we start the voting at say 3. Oh that's 3, I hear from Poole, oh we have 5 points from Belle Vue and Kings Lynn, oh raised to a proper EL average of 7.80 from Swindon, Wolves and Coventry, do I have any more bids?'. I would love to know how they vote (including the FIM and there wildcard selections every year but for once they got it right) each year on these matters. I am only going on what Skidder was it, posted to be honest.
  10. Oh the wonder of hindsight. I think Adam and Matt had they known that the year before the regulations would have done that if they could as they both obviously wanted each other to ride for Poole on a National League average the following season. For once, I would say the loophole karma bit Poole before they knew it but it is harsh on Adam.
  11. What one year in a team makes you associated with him. Poole don't own him and he is an asset of Lakeside to my understanding. Sad thing is, that had he signed for Poole rather than Lakeside, he may still be in the side but highly unlikely. Lakeside should take him on regardless of the division.
  12. Most interesting bit of news on this thread for a little while as a lot of rubbish about dumping riders etc being written. Do people not know how speedway works as this happens every season. Anyway, coming back to the point highlighted above, it would be really interesting to know the team that argued the point on Ellis average and if it was just 'one' team that complained, why didn't democracy overrule this with the other promoters. That 'one' promotion at the AGM may have just hindered a future British GP star. I would have guessed Lakeside before they had moved down but unknown although if I had to guess, it could be Wolves or Swindon.
  13. Swap Chris Holder for Andreas Jonsson as more likely now he isn't in the GP. Possibly another rider for Gomolski maybe Adam Ellis?
  14. Very tough to build a team around such a ridiculous average. Jason Doyle 13.69 I would guess Graczonek would join him and than a pick and mix of CL and NL riders. Possibly Erik Riss or Dmitri Berge?
  15. That's a fair point. I think Leicester has a big problem attracting these riders back after last years problems and riders waiting for payments. Who is going to want to risk riding for them as a) Am I going to get paid on time and Am I secure riding for this club or is there a possibility they could go broke halfway through the season. Why Leicester haven't gone CL or NL has really confused me and seems like a case of heart over head in financial terms.
  16. Well on statistics, I suppose you would have to look at Ivan and Kym Mauger for World Titles who both rode.
  17. To be fair, I think every promotion has tried something different from half prices offers, £1 entry, advertising at tourist information, advertising their own business with their own shop in shopping centres, getting children involved in extra events, free gifts, town advertisement boards, websites, leaflets, celebrity turn outs and still speedway has no formula of attracting people. Look at what's around. There is nothing that can be done. It is a minority sport and still I bet half the country don't even know what it is. It's a marmite sport. It is not in our society like it was in the 60s and 70s and those days are long gone. People have so much other choice on a Monday night such as other sports, using media or sitting round the box saving their hard earned. If anyone could come up with ideas to solve it, I am sure the promotions would pay you to get 3-4000 bum on seats every week. The only way I see it happening is a constant hefty admission drop but it is just not viable. Just an honest opinion.
  18. I am confused with the 2 point average ruling so I would put out 2 teams Surely the strongest team has to fit the format so I would probably go: 1) Niels Kristian Iversen 12.63 2) Best 3 point rider 3) Tai Woffinden 9.86 4) Vaclav Milik 7.94 5) Chris Holder 12.01 6) Best 2 point rider J Smith? 7) Best 2 point rider JPB? Your strong for every heat except reserves races but even than the young riders would improve vastly under top riders or experience etc or you go: 1) Freddie Lindgren 2) Best 4 point rider 3) Tai Woffinden 4) Chris Harris 5) Matej Zagar 6) Best 3 point rider 7) Best 3 Point rider Both teams are under 50.
  19. It would be possible to easily fit Chris Holder and Hans Andersen but the team may look something like this; 1) Chris Holder 2) Kyle Newman 3) Jack Holder 4) Michael Palm Toft 5) Hans Andersen 6) Nike Lunna 7) Ellis Perks So not all would be lost having 2 strong heat leaders as this I believe would squeeze under the 50 point mark. Edited: Actually looking at this team it would easily break the 'only two riders are allowed to double up rule'. Personally I do not like the rule.
  20. I think if Leicester track a similar team with average heatleaders and strong reserves in this new format for 2017, I can see them holding their own well as most top teams will probably look at weak reserves to accommodate their GP stars.
  21. Looks like a Bees team of old with Jonsson and Robson. Please can you tell me Col where are you finding the averages to make a team guesstimate, as there are no 'stickys' with the new averages list in place.
  22. Nice looking team but I think this team will be built around the Holder brothers. I would also expect Newman to possibly come back but Poole are going to really need to find some bargains down the lower end to make the high averages pay off. I could see both Ellis Perks and James Shanes at reserves for the Pirates and a strongish top 4/5.
  23. Great to see Rye House in the Premiership and I hope they are here to stay. I would think they may use most of their team from last but add Kim Nilsson or Andreas Jonsson to the mix.
  24. That team looks a little weak in my opinion. Bates and JPB are good value on their averages and maybe Bjerre but not sure on the others from last season.
  25. I would have said in the same way that a Commonwealth Final was brought into the system many years later but unfortunately it was not thought of fast enough before Mauger and Briggs had won all those British titles. I wonder if many people back then on the terraces used to say what a joke it was or 'that Mauger shouldn't be riding in are Championship'. I would guess from the comments, is that noone was bothered and fans back than felt 'blessed'that Mauger and Briggs took part in the competition.
