  1. No I didn't but I can't believe he has floored more riders than Nicki. Nicki has been doing it for nearly 20 years and I doubt Tommy did it for that long unless you can remember how many times he did it. No room is still worthy of an exclusion.
  2. Wouldn't be a Grand Prix without Nicki Pedersen knocking someone off into the fence. Dirtiest rider ever in my book.
  3. No I am not a gambler and his is not real money anyway. It is a game. If I have a decent sized lead why would I need to be 200 every time if I wasn't sure. I have bet 200 in two GPs where I was sure I would win otherwise 50-100 is a reasonable amount. To be honest this is probably my biggest gamble by far as Iversen is quite inconsistent and he has gotten extra rest by not riding for Kings Lynn last night which he should have been doing.
  4. I think it is a great and a major coup for British League Speedway to see Britain's best rider compete again and hopefully we will see more fans at stadiums up and down the country.
  5. I went to a steam fair event recently and saw a tent filled of classic motorbikes and old speedway and grasstrack bikes including Sean Wilmotts old bike. Anyway, the point relating to this topic was also in this tent was a beautifully framed picture on the wall of the 1928 Crystal Palace team all in the team pose. It did look like another world in many respects.
  6. £150 NKI Less 8-10 But I am unsure and may change rider or value but stick with this for now. Last minute change edit. Forget that. Will go back to 150 less NKI like before. A wise man taught me the first assumption is usually the correct one.
  7. Sorry I do not really agree. What is more impressive? A team at home beating a patched up side missing half its riders OR a team away from home beating one of the strongest teams at home who are also challenging for the playoffs with a full strength team. After that performance by Belle Vue at Wolverhampton, they definitely edge it for me. And they have beaten Poole at Poole and Poole don't know their track. The smart money should go on Belle Vue but Poole are definitely keeping them on their toes.
  8. Very true, but if I was asked to lay my money down it would go on Somerset rather than an Elite League team and Glasgow do still have a big chance. End of season momentum is also usually crucial. I am surprised at people calling Daniel King a gater. I would say more racer but he does do a bit of both and even in his Grand Prix winning days, I would never refer to Bjarne as a racer but all this is entirely irrelevant to the topic. Until Poole ride at Belle Vue, I would say they are joint favourites for now because Belle Vue can beat Poole at Poole. If Poole do not like the Belle Vue track, you can hardly say they are favourites if they are going to get whitewashed on aggregate.
  9. Tough too say unlike the Premier League who barring injuries look like it will go to Somerset. Poole have this winning mentality at the end of seasons of when the chips are down, they just seem to find extra gears. If there full team all click then they could be favourite but they are an unknown quality on the Belle Vue track so hard to judge. Belle Vue look reasonably strong at home and good away. They have riders for nearly all tracks but for me, still a question mark over if they can produce the latter season consistency. Wolves are dark horses. I am not sure if they have strength in depth to match the top two but if they improve on their home hammerings, they will be really difficult to beat on aggregate over two legs. Swindon are an outside chance. Good riders who will all need to fire but they are capable and having a few Somerset riders riding with confidence will certainly help their chances. I can't see anyone else making the top four but I am happy for Lakeside to prove me wrong.
  10. Congratulations Great Britain. Outstanding effort later on by all the team especially Tai Woffinden. Second place is a great result and only juat beaten by four near enough GP class riders who were the best team speaks high volumes for the team. Best four were picked and we were unlucky not to get more but well done to the Poles who are just that class above. Excellent meeting.
  11. Thank you Robbie for the fun competition. Congratulations to Derwent as I would guess you have won. Cheers Joe
  12. Averaged 80 points so far but this is the toughest to predict. GB - Woffinden and Cook Australia - Doyle and Masters Sweden - Lindback and Lindgren Poland - Pawlicki and Zmarzlik

  14. I am sorry if the truth hurts you but that is a truthful assessment I have given.
  15. Actually its the childish bickering that what keeps this thread going on. Myself and Gresham already think this should be locked because there is no speedway talk on this topic and its just gone back into the trend of 'let us just let off some steam on here as we can't say the real things we want to say in real life' so we will make the people interested in speedway suffer. I think Daily Star is too kind....it is like that childish media website Twitter or Instagram on here with a battle of 12 year old girls using their silly arguments to get their way in life and not talk about anything factual but talk a load of old nonsense like a typical politician. And no, I don't have to go anywhere if I don't like. It's my choice and I have to sometimes read my paper and put up with the rubbish that wouldn't be fit to hold my fish and chips in and this is the same principle. I suggest if people want to argue about rubbish they go to a online chat room, a pub or a Facebook because I want to talk about speedway which this forum was designed for.
  16. Well out of interest as something to do, I decided to add my first round scores tonight and by my calculations, I was one point off the record but then I am pretty sure quite a few have beaten me here, I would guess.
  17. Well done Alan Rossiter. I think you have picked the best team and the team I would have picked. It is close with Ellis and Bates but probably right to pick Ellis who has been in good form. Lets hope he uses his joker wisely and good luck to the British team in the final. The term out of depth is a little harsh as both riders have beaten GP and World Cup riders this year such as Ellis beating Jonsson (on his own track), Harris and King and Bates has beaten Holder and a few others. To be honest, I thought Robert Lambert last year looked more out of depth going against Greg Hancock and Bartosz Zmarzlik but he performed admirably so you never know.
  18. I think this pointless discussion has gone around in circles for long enough and it's about time this thread was locked.
  19. Somebody said Nicholls. Now I like Scott but his form of late around his home track has been very poor. You have to pick the form riders for the track and not the best 5 riders in Britain. After Tai, I think Lambert has been very consistent this year and is in good form home and abroad. 2nd in the British Final and a revelation last year in the World Cup so he should go. Danny King has had some awful form for his two league clubs but his recent exploits not only at the British Final but a very credible 7 points in the GP puts him in good stead. I am not totally convinced on Craig Cook because I think he falls short against top riders but his recent form and experience around Belle Vue is enough to get ahead of Harris.
  20. Well you could rise above it, dare I say it. Making bets and 'maybe' telling lies about a career hardly deserves astounding abuse and 100 pages of 'who is he'. I had a poster who was very abusive just because he didn't agree with my post. That is why there is a report button. If he has personally insulted you I stand down, but this is a forum of opinion or like I did with the poster who has now been suspended, you could just ignore him. If he has issued a challenge to Stevebrum that's between him and Steve.
  21. Think you hit the nail on the head Danny. I don't particularly agree with roberts views but I am not having to go do the depths of shockingly abusing him through private messages, name calling, talking a lot of hot air offering fake 10k bets and challenging him to speedway races. Is that really what this has come to? Just agree to disagree and we know Tai will ride so why the abuse. Lots of sporting stars past and present were Marmite. Look at Muhammed Ali and even someone as nice as Greg Hancock has his dislikes. Why...not for me to know but this is a forum for debate in my opinion.
  22. Someone posted it about 5-10 pages ago in this thread in regards to a post by Starman. Was it Star Lady perhaps?
  23. I read in one of the recent Stars that Harris said he doesn't deserve to go after his British Final performance. To be honest, you could laugh but I would say Paul Starke is in better form in the UK at the moment and he also scored double of what Chris did in the British Final. Absolutely nothing against Bomber but I think there are better riders at that track at this time especially Worrall as he rides that track well most weeks.
  24. It will be one of two if the manager has sense to go with riders who can ride the track. 1) Woffinden 2) Cook 3) King 4) S Worrall 5) Lambert or 1) Woffinden 2) Cook 3) King 4) Lambert 5) Bates or Ellis? Anything else and I would be surprised
