  1. I have added Jacek to the list. I thought I found a gem in Olle Ahnstrom who is still riding speedway at... 96 years old which is truly fantastic but being ice speedway means he cannot enter the list. Still a wonderful feat.
  2. The sport is desperate for more Danny Ayres's. I think rider interaction, personality and character definitely give the fans a laugh as well as more likely to bring back the casual fans more often as it is more entertainment. I never met anyone who hated a wheelie, the bumps or a winning celebration of some kind.
  3. Max just missing out along with Sergey Darkin and Rune Holta at the same age. Also a year older than them born in 71 is Magnus Zetterstrom but he is having his farewell. Must be more somewhere?
  4. Right so a bit more research has been done and I think a top 30 list is more fitting at the moment. Harlan Bast Snr 5/11/1935 Gene Bonsignore 23/6/1948 Willy Kennis 11/5/1953 Bobby Schwartz 10/8/1956 Imre Fogas Snr 8/9/1956 Marian Gheorge 11/10/1957 Shawn McConnell 26/4/1959 Eddie Castro.?/?/1959 Vladimir Trofimov 28/1/1962 Sandor Tihanyi 28/4/1963 Tuff McBride 3/1/1964 Arnt Forland 10/7/1964 Bob Hicks 29/10/1964 Tony Atkin 8/4/1966 Charlie Venegas 12/2/1967 Bart Bast 4/6/1967 Alexandre Tomu 10/6/1968 Piotr Swist 20/6/68 (End of season farewell) Mathias Kroger 24/6/1969 (Retiring end of season?) Jacek Gollob 27/10/1969 Peter Karlsson 17/12/1969 Making Greg Hancock the youngster of the group being born on the 3/6/1970 I think 1970 can be a cut off to give Mr Hancock some as appreciation that he is a young rider after all compared to some. An amazing list in all honesty and I am sure there are a lot more Poles to be added but Tomasz Gollob just misses the boat I am afraid being born in on the 11/4/1971.
  5. So I was reading in the Speedway Star that Mike Faria still rides competitively in the U.S Championship and I thought he must be one of the oldest riders still going so thought with a bit of a help we could compile a list and I will be interested to see if Greg Hancock makes the top ten. Speedway only allowed though so no ice, longtrack or grasstrack allowed in this list unless they still ride competitive speedway meetings. Apologies if this thread has been done. So into the mix I will put: Mike Faria 4/3/1957 Tony Atkin 8/4/1966 Bart Bast 4/6/1967 Greg Hancock 3/6/1970 Any other takers?

  7. I would like to see an audience of knowledgeable, honest, unbiased and intellectual speedway fans in a room or hall with the AGM after proposals have been put forward in a 'Question Time' scenario where honest questions are asked about this rule and so forth and even feedback to be given to amend the proposals.
  8. In terms of law isn't this in some kind of EU way actually illegal. Mind you, were not in the EU. It is arrogant and I don't like it that any nation should be able to control where riders ride. What if the Danish and Swedish leagues decided to do it? The British league would be filled with British and some Australian riders. It depends if you would rather have a weakened product or riders who are going to be more loyal and knowingly turn up every week plus possibly more progression on young British riders.
  9. Why do you have to keep swearing and insulting people? I am beginning to suspect your that Gavan with a different name and obviously your hatred for Poole ties nicely in with that.
  10. After his three wins, he went and had an interview with some questions that I think would have mentally affected me if I was riding in the middle of a speedway meeting let alone a great young rider learning his trade. I hope next time he gets a word in his ear and ignores the interview in the middle of the match because he than lost to Howarth and came last and was devastated but he will grow.
  11. I am looking back now and laughing about all the pointless whinging and whining from people who said Poole were faking this injury and bringing in this rider on an incorrect average. No evidence and just pure hate for nothing now since Poole have been comfortably eliminated. I really hope some fans on here got it all of their chest or will it be the same old guessology next season.I doubt I will want to be on here if so. There is club banter but when people say riders are falling down and getting injured on purpose and other stupid accusations, it becomes really pathetic and awful to read. Anyway back to the topic. Oh the topic is wrong but at least you weren't the only one.
  12. I did say if Poole were naughty in anyway, that karma would bite. There other victories in previous seasons had more honesty than the end of this season in my opinion. Hopefully Wolves win the final as the underdog.
  13. Kyle Howarth's Heat 12 ride was crucial which changed the momentum Poole had gained with a brilliant ride. Fascinating meeting. What odds on a Poole 5-1 and a golden heat win for Chris Holder. 1000/1?
  14. Surely that's the nail in the coffin. H14 Harris and Tai vs the Pole and R/R H15 Lindgren and Tai vs A struggling Holder and.? No chance.
  15. This is a carbon copy of the Poole away victory at Lakeside with Holder and the two reserves holding the fort Wolves need a heat advantage to stem the tide.
  16. Doesn't really back up your point as he averaged 9 last year and around 8 this year in the EL.
  17. If Poole 5-1 this reserves heat, I maybe have quick to have wrongly judged after that failed tactical. Great resilience from the champions but I still fancy Wolves to go through.
  18. Attract a younger new audience? Best way is to stick a Playstation on the centre green. Being more realistic would be handing out an iPad or tablet to every customer to fill the boredom between heats and interval etc. Everything that young audiences love is technology based. Perhaps get some young U.S noboby to trash talk, speak rubbish and commentate on speedway on Youtube like all young people seem to like watching.
  19. And people laughed and bullied my opinion about Newman being a top British rider. Now he passes Woffinden on his own circuit but more pressure on him in the next heat now Ellis is out. Slightly controversial decision.
  20. Well after a failed tactical, I have to say I was probably right about karma. If there was any foul play, karma will come back round and bite. It's not over yet, but looking comfortable for a Wolves 55+ score. Poole really need to produce their magic now but I cannot see it.
  21. So that clears that up. Myself and BWitcher were originally correct but I must admit, I thought Steve Shovlar was so adamant with the rule that I doubted myself and I hadn't seen the rule before Danny Smith kindly posted it, so thank you Danny. So Poole definitely in the wrong. Now the strange situation has occurred that Lindback is now actually unavailable. This in some small way to be honest levels up the playing field. Actually BWitcher, I was the first person who suggested the punishments should be handed as I was 95% sure correct before Mr Shovlar doubted it me which in all honesty is fair enough as his comments most times have been honest whilst yours imo have been more biased, but I havent the foggiest anymore who to believe or not on this forum anymore after only recently joining and I didn't see you actually stating any punishment yourself, so I question your own loyalty about being a Wolverhampton fan which I hope you are or another crazed Gavan type fan who follows Poole around for the sake of it. But all seems cleared up now.
  22. Have you read any other of my posts on threads? I am not a Poole fan nor have I been to Wimborne Road for quite a while. I actually stated that for the good of the sport (and because I am a neutral who cheers on the underdog), I would like a Lakeside v Wolves final.
