But before we all start patting SCB on the back for working out the formula of the circumference of the square root (multiplied by pi) divided by the radius of Einsteins theory of moon size equalling a speedway average, we still have the problem of riders who keep 'popping' into the Elite League now and again or new riders entering the league. Antonio Lindback is a good example as he had a low average at Belle Vue but became a GP rider but scored 5 at Poole so looking back on it, his average was maybe about right with the exception of the anti Poole fan base with Gavan and his merry men. Also, what average would Kenneth Bjerre come in on with these applied rules by SCB.
-
I think SCB has worked out a very sensible and fair average system. So sensible in fact, I doubt it will be used. So 38.50 could get you: 1) Matej Zagar 2) Kyle Newman 3) Craig Cook 4) Szymion Wozniak 5) Freddie Lindgren 6) Rory Schlein 7) Kai Huckenbeck Cannot see a fairer way personally.

I know, it's an awkward one trying to find a soloution and it's always worth a shout but as this was tried and tested and obviously made no difference, I am guessing that is why it was scrapped. I think sticking with original like Sweden and Poland do seems to work alright but I agree other areas need to improve.

I have noticed that Gavan has disappeared and reappear I notice he has disappeared than reappeared. I haven't seen chris4gillian post on in for a while either? Is that coincidence or No sorry gentleman that joke has worn thin.

I like him. He is a world class rider in my opinion and always mixes it in the GPs and should be there in my opinion. Was the second best Dane in the World Cup and the E.L is crying out for good riders to be fair. Not sure where he would go? Chris Holder or Tai Woffindens replacement perhaps.
-
Any reason why? Wasn't that last tried in the Premier League a few years ago in the Cup(possibly Craven Shield??) and then it got scrapped. I personally don't think this adds anything positive to British Speedway and if anything, rivalries are more common between the big clubs rather than local areas i.e Poole Belle Vue or Poole Coventry etc.

In the short time I have been on this forum not much as made me laugh but this post is pure comedy gold that made me laugh as hard as watching the Two Ronnies.

I wonder if Peterborough will move up to make it 9. Seem happy enough throwing money around with a higher turnover of staff than Asda. Cook being E.L and Bjerre who is probably now GP aren't the cheapest riders to sign and would grace any Elite League side. I would also like to see a big area such as Newcastle or Glasgow give it a go as there is no reason why they shouldn't have big enough fan bases with populations that make Poole look very tiny. Perhaps more advertising if they were joining the top league? Not a lot to go on though after watching Leicester's swift but sad fall from grace.

In all honesty, I am biting my tongue on this Brexit chat and so wanting to explode into a novel of why it was wrong to leave especially when people mention controlling foreigners and affecting trade. But this is a speedway forum and I will happily talk about speedway. I am wondering if promotions maybe largely affected this in the next five years.

It's a weird one isn't it and again this adds up for two sides of the coin for fans especially on this forum. In the red corner we have, one half of the forum says "This league is too weak. This isn't Elite. Get the GP riders in and it will attract a lot more fans. I am not paying 17 pound for these lineups in this watered down Premier League type match", etc etc etc. And in the blue corner we have, the other half of the forum saying "We have to take a stand against the GP riders using are league like a flying circus. Oh this foreign rider isn't trying but trys in Poland. This GP rider again has failed to turn up for another meeting. This foreign GP rider just isn't dedicated to the team and the Elite League. Oh he isn't injured as he just got a maximum in the GP the other day", etc etc etc. I am not sure what speedway fans want by the sound of it. As for Brexit, I was disgusted with the result and I think we will be affected in a bad way but another rules or thought weren't put down by the leaders of this country but then that's another story.

Both Karlssons have retired. Both great riders who deserved good testimonials and nice to see they made it through the sport unscathed. Mikael was so good when he was young and I thought he would do big things but he followed a path similarly to Henrik Gustafsson more than Tony Rickardsson. World class but not worlds best but still an excellent career like brother Peter.

Erik Riss - Riding in both Wolverhamptons and Poole's individual events also had highly credible results in the World U21s and Premier League. Obviously being looked at by the above two clubs for next season. Dmitri Berge - Excellent in the World U21s and has vastly improved this season in the PL. Will he make the step up. Michael Palm Toft - Looks like he could be an important rider if moving up and could probably hold his own. Jack Holder - Appears to now be an asset for Poole but will he definitely be riding for them next season or perhaps go out on loan to gain experience elsewhere if Chris leaves the UK. My money is on them both to be at Poole. Who else may or may not make the jump into the Elite League from the PL or NL next season. Perhaps Robert Branford as the Bees EDR reserve? No idea but worth seeing opinions on bargain averages and who may go where.

Neither do I. It's like everyone has been on the Lambrini and we were the only two not invited. Talking about a group, The Lord and just random stuff that would make the most stoned out of his head hippy confused. This is a thread about speedway isn't it?

How Do We Attract A New Young Audience?
Joe Beevers replied to PHILIPRISING's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Another few ideas that I have had is too give free tickets to the following people: Simon Cowell Kim Kardashian A member of One Direction Jordan Some unknown off one of those terrible Essex reality programmes. Someone dressed up as a Pokemon playing Pokemon Go. Some Youtube star with a stupid amount of views preferably American. Cheryl Cole or whatever her name is now. Wayne Rooney or David Beckham. I would think young people would flood in too see these people just to get a picture or autograph. Some of them, only God knows why? -
Who Are The Fifteen Biggest Improvers. ?
Joe Beevers replied to Sidney the robin's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Mainly watched Elite League this season but who I would plump for in no specific order would be: Clegg Ellis F Lindgren Howarth Jacobs R Worrall S Worrall Bridger (perhaps controversially) Lambert Starke Tungate Wilson Dean Palm Toft Berge Thats the 15. In the Grand Prix's I would say Doyle, Holeer and Lindgren have all improved and to a lesser extent Lindback. -

Belle Vue Vs Wolves, Grand Final 2nd Leg, 5/10/16...
Joe Beevers replied to Col's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Well done Wolves. Shrewd manouvre bringing in Tai but the whole team also deserve a round of applause. I hold my hands up and say I predicted them to be near the bottom at the start of the whole season as I thought Bech, Clegg, Howarth, Kylmakorpi, Thorsell and Lindgren on his way down etc so they have absolutely no chance of winning but fair play, they rode really well when it mattered and brought in a few key men and deserved it at the end. Interestingly, I wonder if they found Poole more difficult or Belle Vue more difficult to beat. -

Wolves edging nearer now. Lindgren having a really great season and a real bargain on that average at the start of the season looking world class. Backed up well by Tai and Peter Karlsson and the Aces are just not getting enough heat advantages although both teams riding out of their skins. With Lindgren and Tai in 13,14 and 15 it would take quite the miracle now. -

I think Wolves have done enough especially with the Belle Vue track being so even. Howarth has really been a star in the playoffs and the Woffinden signing was masterstroke timing. It would be a superb effort from Belle Vue to overturn the odds and I would feel sorry for them as they have stuck by their side all season. Should be a fascinating grand finale.
