  1. Me too. I will be 74 in 2 weeks time and find modern life so frustrating. Oh to be a teenager going to Custom House every Tuesday.
  2. I am sure everyone who knows the situation will praying for them.
  3. Awful. I believe the human body contains around 4.5 litres of blood, so I would have expected certain death.
  4. My schoolboy German can decipher some but not enough
  5. Snap! I thought roku was some kind of health food.
  6. Before my time unless it was still being produced in 1960. If so probably saw the odd copy though I have no recollection of doing so.
  7. Very true Norbold. The second half of the season was exceptional.
  8. West Ham... bottom of league 1964, champions and cup winners 1965.
  9. I refer to it regularly, excellent site.
  10. What does NORA stand for?. The only Nora I can think is is Nora Batty.
  11. Never heard that one but he was very difficult to pass. Arms and legs everywhere but great to watch. One of my favourite 60’s riders.
  12. I have often thought the Autograss site would have been good for grass track.
  13. Point taken. Nice if some of them actually had a chance eh?.
  14. Sad that Harlow is considered too close to Rye House, when one considers how close West Ham was to Hackney, but that’s speedway today.
  15. I said cloud cuckoo land as the list was exhaustive and the chance of speedway ever appearing at most of them was nil.
  16. The words cloud, cuckoo and land come to mind.
  17. As a Hammers supporter I have to agree with Ken McKinlay being the ultimate team rider. His partnership with Simmons produced many valuable 5-1’s for the team.
  18. Agree in principle though Hancock had a 20+years WC career, while Craven’s career was tragically cut short. So... can we really say with certainty Hancock was a greater rider than Craven?. Penhall retired far too early so can we categorically say Hancock was a greater rider than Penhall?.
  19. There are not many with 4 or more WC titles, which narrows the field somewhat. If we open up the criteria to multiple titles, it gives us more scope.
  20. Happy with the 5 Norbold. As for number 6, difficult really. Craven tragically died, Penhall prematurely retired, Knutsson didn’t achieve as much as his talent deserved. On balance though I would say Olsen.
