My first meeting was Easter 1960 at Rye House, that’s 62 years ago. I reckon one of our historians could find out how many of the competing riders are still with us. I haven’t a clue I’m sorry to say.

Lack of variety of teams, riders, competitions etc. No Test Matches, local derbies, star-studded open meetings. What is there to whet the appetite week after week?.

I’m sure the NSS could stage it given the opportunity. With temporary stands at each bend I believe the capacity can be increased to 9,000-10,000. BV should get a full house so should be financially viable. Would the FIM look kindly on an application, and would BV be interested in submitting one?.

Heerenveen will have a weaker field without the Russians, but a more competitive one with closer racing in most heats. This should make the meetings more enjoyable, though of course the winner each day will not have met the world top5, making the victories somewhat hollow.

If Russian riders are banned, May the rest of the field pull out?. An all Russian podium is a certainty anyway and the field, if all Russian would be stronger. Just a thought.

I doubt anyone will be watching the Russian GP on discovery +. F1 have cancelled their Russian GP and Champions League final moved to Paris.
