  1. Only if someone dug up the football pitches on Hackney Marsh and laid a track. That’s assuming they’re still there of course. Not been to Hackney in decades.
  2. Would I have gone to Custom House every Tuesday if we didn’t have Harrfeldt, Knutsson etc., and riders like Briggs and Nordin were not visiting?. Probably.
  3. I got to Hyde Road for the BLRC 1965-1970. Great meetings. Rye House c.1960…you could reach over the fence and almost touch the riders. I always stood up against the fence on the first bend.
  4. Great stadium, great track, competitive team and often top-drawer racing. If that can’t attract people through the turnstiles what will?. Back in to day league meetings were followed by a mini individual meeting comprising 6 riders from each team. Maybe an extra 4-7 races per meeting would give extra value for money and entice a few more to come.
  5. A lot of ifs but everyone on this forum who was attending meetings in 1965 knows Nobody was going to catch the Hammers once they went on their winning run.
  6. Apart from France and Hungary they have all been tried.
  7. 2 each: GB, Poland, Sweden, Denmark, Czech, Germany. How does that sound?.
  8. I agree, but as I posted, where are the alternatives?.
  9. No country outside of Europe is interested. As far as I can see from forum posts, the majority of non-Polish tracks are not up to scratch. If an 11 or 12 round championship is the desired format and they all have to be in Europe, where, if Poland stage a maximum of 3 would 8. or 9 rounds be held?. Cardiff is an obvious choice but I have seen very little enthusiasm for the other tracks staging GP’s, now or in recent years.
  10. Re Tai… I got a new copy of his book yesterday for under £5. Got very tired of all the effing.
  11. Five rounds gone and five different winners. One might think the championship was wide open. Bartosz obviously has other ideas.
  12. I’ve no idea what today’s league programmes are like. Back in the 60’s they were 2 sheets of A4 folded in half to make 8 sides of anA5 programme with very little content. I always bought one though.
