Ignore the £ sign. I meant 20,000?.

Most current tracks are a long way from Cardiff and predominantly in the north. How many come from Yorkshire or north of Yorkshire. If the Cardiff catchment area is south of Yorkshire the attendance should not be too adversely affected by a second GP in Bradford. One may expect the attendance for a Bradford GP to come from the north of England and southern Scotland. Therefore Cardiff should still be viable though maybe with less than 40,000. What attendance would Bradford secure? £20,000.

Thanks. I was there but sometimes the memory plays tricks.

He was a big favourite at West Ham for sure. I may have imagined or dreamed this but I am sure I saw him score an 18 point maximum in a Test Match at Custom House. Norbold would either confirm or contradict me.

I thought they were laying a shale track anyway for a cars.

As usual, following today’s speedway makes my brain hurt -
Try explaining it to me.

8 guests out of 14 riders…sigh!. -
Source of the Polish information?…speculation or insider knowledge?.

Apologies…got Harris and Nichols mixed up. Getting dotty in later life

I must be wearing the wrong glasses

Bewley, Harris and Brennan 8 each. Bewley already in GP. Brennan beat Harris. Ellis outclassed. Brennan should go back to Cardiff.

It’s all a matter fact interpretation. I don’t consider the 20 or 21 heats as a qualifier for the final. The semis, challenge or whatever are the qualifiers for the final. The 20 or however many heats in the last meeting are the final in itself. I accept others have different views and of course they are perfectly entitled and disagree with me.

bah-humbug!. Does anyone have viewing figures for televised speedway in Britain?. I seriously doubt it breaks any records. Simplistic I agree but were not attendances healthier pre-tv coverage?. Has tv coverage helped the sport in Britain?. To my admittedly somewhat blinkered eyes the only beneficiaries of tv coverage are the Poles. Yes, I know I’m an old fossil, but I like my speedway as it was in the 60’s and 70’s.

I never have and never will see the need for a final. Individual, pairs and team championships ran perfectly well for decades until some smart Alec decided the system needed changing. Has it changed Speedway for the better?. No, as far as I’m concerned. When an individual can finish 8th. then win the final, or a team can out-score the rest and end up second or third, it becomes the joke.

We probably could not hold our own in a full strength test match, but by recent standards we are in a good place. British league speedway is poor by historic standards but our rider strength is improving encouragingly.
