  1. The fact that benji and magic have been named to ride probably end any kent hopes of getting through although I hope I eat those words. My feeling is we would have been better served by a carefully selected guest and use of the rr facility. That said I thought we would struggle at lynn but we won. Anything could happen but a fear a 16 point home win.

  4. Dunno about cradley riders but read on Kents website that Sarjeant is under investigation by the scb for his part.
  5. The banger racing crowds at Eastbourne are 3 or 4 times that of speedway. For big meetings Arlington is literally packed out. Mildenhall bangers are at least double the crowd size of speedway.
  6. Good news this morning is that greenwood has no breaks in his leg. Still needs 2 weeks bed rest due to the ligament damage so season over i expect.
  7. I have received texts from cradley fans saying that cradley fans were booing greaves. Whilst I accept there is many guilty parties in this i can't believe people are condoning greaves for his actions. I have seen both storm and cradley fans say both teams should be kicked out of the cup. I am unsure on that tbf but each rider should be punished for their own individual actions.
  8. Your right mate, everyday is a school day.
  9. Don't think Saturdays will happen as sittingbourne Fc is based round behind the pits and I imagine the parking would be an issue.
  10. From various texts i have received tonight from a couple of heathens fans it sound to me like sarjaent probably due severe punishment for leaving bike in dangerous place, fighting, and pushing greaves bike over. Greaves a severe punishment for fighting and squaring up to fans. Danny Phillips possibly the worst offence in pulling a rider off of his bike when he was riding back to pits. And an unnamed rider from storm has allegedly run over a heathen mechanic. Those seem to be the must serious offenders but sounds like there are not many riders who are guilt free. Could certainly change the whole complection of the play off picture if the Bspa act decisively and promptly. All the shenanigans have over shadowed the fact that British under 19 champion Oliver Greenwood is in hospital with a suspected broken leg. Hopefully that proves not as serious as feared.
  11. What my estimated attendance numbers don't include is how many people actually get complimentary tickets. So I guess if a thousand people attend then about 850 Would be paying. I have been thinking of ideas to get more engagement from local residents which when I get chance to write up a proposal i will submit to Mr Cearns and Derek Barclay. My dad has been lost to Speedway since he retired racing in 1980 and stopped watching when canterbury closed in 1987. He has not missed a home meeting apart from when we went to world cup event last season and I fear many like him would only follow speedway from their armchairs again if kent closed. Now Eastbourne are in the national league next season that garuntees at least one mega sized gate.
  12. I send the texts in for speedway updates, I base my estimations on experience of going to football there when it first opened and the attendances given back then. For the record the main stand usually looks half empty but what needs considering is there are 2000 seats in there. Now I estimate that around 120 stand on the terrace between the upper and lower tier, I always stand on the first turn terraces which looks literally empty but as sad as I am I counted 63 people in "our" section alone although this did include kids. So when you add to this the people who stand on the backstraight and the people who watch from the upstairs bar i think an average attendance of 1000 is pretty accurate.
  13. Don't think he had bike issues but I don't know for sure. But so often this season he has not only bean beaten by second stringers and reserves but on occasions thrashed. He seemingly can only ride one line and on many occasions he has raced our less senior members rather then protect his team mate. He seems popular with the riders so I would keep him in the fold but just not as a rider. I don't doubt his passion or commitment either but he just is not good enough especially with such a strong average.
  14. Have you been to coventry to see kent before, unless the lads have all got mega upgraded equipment we have no chance. We have to leave Mason at home as he cost us big time last night with an embarrassing display (although no where near as bad as he rode in our away league match at brandon this season.) If the other six boys have a good night I can't see us doing better then a ten point reversal unfortunately. Of course some dramas may occur it's sport after all but I agree it will be Arena Essex in a couple of Fridays time, not cradley. Unfortunately.
  15. I think we will by about 8 but lose over the 2 legs. Compton is not as quick as greenwood so it's our middle order and reserves that the meeting will depend on.
  16. I fear that is the end of Kent speedway. Hope i am wrong!
  17. I think the moment we have a sensible curfew date the plan is to go up the leagues. Our planning hearing is next Wednesday with many of the councilors attending the British under 19 championship next Monday. So let's hope they enjoy the evening (which they have allowed us to start later and given us an extra hour on our curfew for)
  18. Garrad seems to produce one classy ride a meeting but 3 like a rank novice. Personally I am still angry at the way harris was treated he is the future! Not that it's jason ' s fault and I will support what ever 7 riders we have representing us.
  19. Tbf fella we spanked coventry and mildenhall at home in the league and got spanked by the both away. So a semi against either team would be tight over 2 legs in my opinion.Just getting to the play offs and the development of Danny Ayres have made this season for me. The only downsides for me is treating 15 year old luke harris so badly and letting him go, and John Sampford's tactical ineptitude. And I have to add i would rather watch tight competitive meetings each week then spank every team by 20 points. Must get boring at Monmore on Tuesdays. A measure of how good cradley are, i reckon if 7 club number ones formed a select team to face the heathens at home I still don't think they would get close.
  20. Benji got withdrawn from Poole team Friday at arena essex with broken finger so be interesting to see if he is fit to ride at number 1 or whether we get a guest in or just use RR
  21. That said hopefully we could nick an unlikely point or 2 weds and it's irelivant anyway.
  22. Erm we had to fight tooth and nail to get our "kent" fixture away to Devon. They tried cancelling it. Now my understanding is the only way the result can be voided is if Devon were thrown out of the league or withdrawn from the league. Any other removal of results completely against any published rules i can find. I believe 2 seasons ago Iow missed out because they did not get all their fixtures done before cut off It would be totally illegal and immoral to change the goal posts in the last week of the season. Kent have managed to ride at Devon twice this season so some responsibility must fall on the away teams to get their meetings on.
  23. As a kent fan i think you are bang on the money in many respects, we had a 3 point win in the bag and never used sheppard. A fair number of us fans on turn 1 have been crying out to see him get a few rides, after all how could he get up to standard without track time. And the way luke harris was treated is disgraceful and to be replace by somebody in garrad who struggles to stay on the bike 3 out of 4 races (with one race each meeting he seems to look classy and fast). Harris at 15 would of been a perfect rider to watch develop and if in a few years time we have not stepped up to elite league ourselves then he would of been a valuable asset to sell. Of our side this year and taking current averages into account i would keep Lambert, baseby, morley, ayres, and if fit freemantle. Which hopefully would leave enough points to bring in young local riders Marc Owen, and Arron Moggridge. Mason i would keep involved but not as a rider as does not travel well, and Comptons 9 point average is just far too high.
