Kent Kings V Cradley Heathens Nl 27/4
teaboy279 replied to blueherb777's topic in National League Speedway
I think crowd wise what needs considering is a) the weather locally and b ) the absolute shower of the proverbial that has been served up the last 2 weeks. I pairs meeting with very little action and we'll strung out, then last week a SEVEN man amateur meeting with such poor standards I am not Suprised the crowds have suffered. Will no doubt pick up Monday for bank holiday, if the meeting is good then there should be good crowds the following weeks -

Where did u hear baseby is replaced by Kirby. Can't find that anywhere? Best be a joke but if not could we not use rr for baseby, giving both shanes and Morley an extra ride. -
One thing I know for certain which I can share is that our planning permission is still as per when we got it and runs out at the end of the 2016 season. Can't wait for the other announcements due as I am sure a big debate will ensue.
-
I d like us to go up to elite league but keep the nl side too. Although it's all pie in the sky and reading the planning application stuff I think the environmental officers advice to refuse application combined with the letters from residents against it too will mean we have very little chance of getting a fair hearing. I don't expect to hear any good news tonight but it would make a nice surprise. ...

Now I have reread it i agree with you
-
I believe that the 9.30 application is for ONE FRIDAY a season. Think the rest of it is for 9pm curfew on a Monday evening.
-
We have been saying this on the terraces, get the trophy done early on especially as every team has ridden at least one match already.
-
Think he could be another Robert Lambert ie having to get a German licence so he can get to ride 500s out there
-
At the bare minimum you need to give a rider a month or so to establish themselves.
-
I think you should earmark one rider in my opinion Jamie couzins as someone to develop over the season as he is a raw talent with very little experience. Danno and Adam have a bit more experience so less time should be given.

Ok to use your updates for speedway updates website mate? -
Think you are badly mistaken there mate. The cross over is pretty big. I raced bangers for many a years but never had the balls for speedway. My old man raced for canterbury during the 70s then raced bangers and hot rods in the late 80s and early nineties. Emerson fairweather another name I can think off that went from speedway to banger racing. Eddie Kennett still races both. Fans wise I spoke to 20 odd banger regulars at arlington Friday. And cardiff walking round the fan zone I can't walk a few yards without bumping into banger folk. The biggest differences between the 2 are that people from all over the country travel to banger meeting where as at speedway it is generally 2 groups of fans of 2 clubs so the catchment is smaller. It is also the price, most banger meetings cost less then a premier league speedway meeting to get into so if you are taking a family it could be 20 quid cheaper to watch the cars then a top level speedway event. In any case both are far more affordable and the stars of their sports far more assessable to the fans then say football. If more clubs took a leaf out of the new eagles management in they way they are marketing themselves to the general public then attendances will only increase. Martin and Connor have breathed new life into the national league and speedway as a whole so hopefully other promoters take note and use it as a blueprint. The more people watch the more we can invest in young british riders and perhaps a few more tai woffinden's will be discovered.

Yeah stadium literally packed out for the bangers as always. Car park full and cars parked all the way along the lane to the duel carriage way.

Kent V Eastbourne, Easter Monday 6th April

Unless it has changed i believe the riders are responsible for their tyres. It's certainly not like the elite league where you get 7 tyres between a team.I reckon the "supplier" mentioned would be Dave Jessup who attends all Kents meetings with his "spares" van. Would of thought Connor and Martin would not of left it till the last minute.com to sort their tyres anyway in this new professional era at arlington... -

Well deserved victory for the eagles they look classy all the way through barring Warwick who looks a bit rusty. Marc Owen has always been a favorite with kent fans but after his pre Madonna hissy fit when he fell off all by himself certainly didn't sit well with many. Made a right twit off himself. How Barbara Horley is allowed to continue as a referee is beyond me. And before so one crys about sour grapes her worst decision benefited kent when danno verge fell turn 1 when last and away from the other three riders but all four were put in rerun. Every time I see a match she officiates she does her best to ruin the meeting. -
Ben was off the throttle massively when it happened. And in my opinion Marc made contact exiting turn 2. That's how it appeared from where I was watching close to the pits and tbf most the eagles fans around us thought Marc would go. I thought the Kent boys did alright all things considered ben, danno, Aaron and Danny all scoring above their average. James not far off his average but most entertaining rider of the night by far. Think he left the tapes stone last every race but just got on the dirt and was like a rocket. Jamie started the night badly but got more dialled in as the meeting went on and I would stick with him as he will develop well over the coming weeks and months. Adam on the other hand unfortunately I don't believe he will ever make a speedway rider as he looks no better now them he did when I first saw him. When you look at the quality of georgie wood and Kelsey dugard I think Adam will be out of his depth at national league level. Think he must of slipped of 5 or 6 times in his 4 rides last night.

Thought the heat 5 exclusion of morley was pretty poor as Owen slammed him into the fence. Very enjoyable night non the less.
-
I am gonna say 50-40
-
That's right because we only have one good rider......
-
Brendan Johnson would of made an interesting guest
-
Seems a bit backwards to me that when 2 clubs agree he can ride for kent that the authoritys then say he must ride for Redcar. Also find it frustrating that as we have one of the highest averages number 1's we can pick more or less any national league rider as a guest but instead we have to use RR. Under be rules do we HAVE to name a number 8?
-
Kent website suggests we had 150 fans in attendance plus media and sponsors
-
Most the people were sat in the various executive suites. I know I did not stray to far from the complementary buffet and tea.... lol. What also needs considering is the weather forecast which if completely accurate would of meant no action at all.
