Alex take your head for a wobble mate. You seem to be the only one who can't accept a quote from our Co promoter as official. Then say he was wrong to announce his ultimate goal for the club, which has not happened yet. That settled I would say now with Danny conformed that Ben will probably be a rocket next term.

Assuming cradley play by the rules of paying £10 a point then I can't see how they don't make money with the crowds size. If Buxton and stoke can run on very low attendances it makes no sense that cradley is not financially viable.

Alex we named most of our team before the limit was announced last year.

Only if/when we go elite league as I understand. That said we can run on either day with a 6.30 start the restriction being one meeting per week.

A Way Forward For National League Racing?
teaboy279 replied to Electric6's topic in National League Speedway
Electric6 I fully appreciate you are offering an idea about a sport you have a passion for but Jeez, I can't help wonder what you have been smoking. The NL was probably the best product in 2015, sure it needs a tweek here and there but certainly not turned into a giant mdl -

Suppose we will know more after Dec 3rd?

Assuming Ben is going to go premier next season I would find the core of the team easy to build but if Ben wants to stay NL for another season there is a tough choice on which of the top 3 must go. For me the core will be built around kent assets. Shanes Ayres Thomas Basford Possibly Couzins Although I fully expect we will only use 2 3 pointers next term. I really like Ben Basford but if he can find a club closer to home whilst he is not scoring/earning massive amounts that has got to be a benefit.

Just to clarify I disagree with lens stance on Spiller. But I don't think if he managed to sign him he would look a twit, what Len did not like was his 3pt average but he now has a genuine one. Can't see anyone wrestling him away from Eastbourne in any case.

I would be very happy with that Line Up, add Kingston or Johnson and not many sides would beat that team.Be a very attractive team to watch too.
-
I think for Ben career he should go Pl full time. In which case we can keep Danny and James, and of course we have Thomas on a 3.0. I imagine baseby will be back if averages fit too. Experienced riders on cheapish averages I would like to see are Widman, Johnson and Chessell.
-
If we ran both on same night I don't see an issue. After all it has been muted for a few seasons that all meetings should be on the same night for the good of the league and of course the riders too.

Your 5 thinking of Iwade mate, the training track a couple of miles up the road.

Tbf they have massive crowds, a track to ride on (albiet not there own), and a good selection of club assets. Surely it must be a dream opportunity for any local businessman or a group of wealthy fans to take over. Love or hate the Heathens british Speedway needs these famous big name clubs with a proper fan base. Hopefully it all falls into place quickly and fans don't have to worry all weekend about the future. On getting back in the local borough perhaps a "March" through Dudley town centre to the council buildings could help raise more awareness. I am sure if you could get 1000 or so people marching in green red and white local TV radio and papers would be all over it.

Suprised not more has been written about this, when the fixtures were released this was the meeting that caught my eye. Sure it's not now on a glorious bank holiday Monday, but still a meeting to enjoy. Plus we get an extra Heat for our money Used to love the four team tournaments as a kid at Canterbury. More meetings like this would surely improve gates too with 4 sets of fan pools to fill the terraces not to mention the neutrals that just love Speedway.

Tbf it's the only way to run a 15 Heat format for 12 riders.

More then the premier league and national league.Like I say my ideal is EL with a NL side (dropping out of the NT to free up 3 Friday evenings) With 2 of our Heat leaders at nl as our FTR's in EL. Our gates whilst gradually going down still well exceed that of most Elite league sides with the exception of Poole and others on big nights or derby matches. I think with almost certain significant increase in sponsorship coming in, and TV Money too its a very viable idea. If that went well and TV in mind bringing attention to sittingbourne and surrounding areas I think that can only strengthen the planning application for continued operation of speedway from 2017 onwards.
-
I'd settle for that, we have no garuntee of planning consent after 2016 so if it was to be our last season it would be nice to see some world class riders grace the stadium.
-
That's very much the point, you move a team 65 miles only the hardcore fan and maybe retired people are gonna travel.
-
We don't want hammers and we certainly don't want Rockets. We are kent kings and that's how it should stay. Friday night elite league either continued national league participation is the perfect scenario.

Kent County Fours. Bank Holiday Monday 3pm
teaboy279 replied to Alex2000's topic in National League Speedway
If it's on i reckon it could be a classic,I like four team tournaments anyway as there are no real week links. Every Heat is a heat 15 line up. -
If it's on xbox one I will sell all my other games!

Coventry nailed on now imo. Needed Kent and Mildenhall to get wins last night to fully open it up. Coventry have points on the board plus a bag full of home fixtures. Although if Knuckey and greenwood are out for anytime they will need to get the right guests in.
