  1. The joy of a couple of competitive challenge matches to start off with.
  2. Have any brothers scored maxes in the same meeting but for opposition sides?
  3. Tbf we still get close to 40,000 at Cardiff, and that does not reflect back to league racing. So whilst there was 90,000 plus, how many of them went weekly to their local team. I honestly feel if we had a world championship level meeting in one of Londons big stadiums it would be close to a sell out.
  4. First time I ve used that, nice little read.
  5. Having ridden there last week will Cradley have the home track advantage?
  6. Always considered Matty a good man in the engine room. Never gonna pull up many trees, but never let's his side down.
  7. Probably giving the beeb free coverage, which is probably also why they attract title sponsors.
  8. Just to confirm about the above, It was a Facebook post and Deane Wood spedeworth owner was just tagged in the post.
  9. Should be used every night of the week, a track with genuine lines everywhere are only really found in Poland. And I would say it's better then nearly if not all tracks over there.
  10. Watched young Jack Thomas on his brand new GTR and was the fastest rider all day, I had him down as maintaining what he built up last year but his speed today I fully expect him to be an out and out head leader by July. The engine itself seems too pull and pull, without so many unpredictable rear ups the favoured GM gets.
  11. And to think I argued with my dad when he told me it was pointless booking a hotel. Glad he persuaded me to wait.Think I am right that only Lynn NSS and Berwick have current FIM licences so it's unlikely to be something we do ton the way back to kent from Cardiff now. With the young talent we have I was looking forward to seeing a world u21 as well. If that's the case then that's great news. If nothing else when work starts it will be obvious very quickly as to whether we will ever see a new facility on the site.
  12. I edited my original post Matty, but quoted it here so it's obvious it was chosen before the first league match.
  13. No but I have been to 4 events this year sold out, and I mean a third of the stadium rammed with 3500 people. I have been a regular there for over 3 decades. and the curruption involved in the AFC Wimbledon lot is nor restricted to the brown envelopes that strangely got the flood warning level reduced (about a week before planning was submitted). They have been at it since they started. Ask any non league club who faced them in the FA Cup qualifiers how badly they fiddled the attendances ( I went up for a 3rd or 4th qualifying road with Ashford Town) we took a few hundred up with us, yet wimbledon released attendance figures of a few more then we took (assume the thousand or so home fans were all complimentarys) It's not isolated either just visted non league forums and serch back a few years, they are so hated for their corruption around gates, dodgy player signing deals amongst over stuff. Yes they have kept trotting out the return line, I signed up to the newsletters from AFC Wimbledon ground campaign and their literature is complete BS. They also claim to have the backing of local businesses and residents. That's simply not true. Visit two of the closest pubs (Corner Pin and Leather bottle) ask the landlords and punters what they think, the only ones that weren't 100% wanting to keep it as a stock car and potential speedway venue simple did not care either way. Let's also look at when the Wimbledon Dons left the area, they cashed their ground in for flats and played at palace for about a decade. The place was 3 quarters empty every week, despite being mega cheap to get in (me and a few school mates used to train up from ashford to south Norwood and watch premier league matches for about a tenner) Now I do have sympathy with what happened next and the Norwegians (if I recall correctly) ripped the heart out the club and decamped up the M1. But one of the things that the fans were trying to use to block the move was the fact it was unfair to kick out the hockey team from their ground in Milton Keynes saying how it was imoral it was. How ironic that they know are quite happy to do the same thing to not only 1 sport but 2!!! And preventing a third returning. (There had been strong romours that spedeworth were going to lay shale had they had had a longer stay of execution) So basically everything associated with afc wimbo in my eyes stinks badly. Just hope they go out of business, they deserve to. Buying another teams ground and then selling it from underneath them to Chelsea.
  14. Used to enjoy the 4,3,2,0 points but find it more and more likely that we get a gate infringement or a first bend fall and the spectacle is lost (obviously I mean for semis and final, it does not affect heats at all really.)
  15. Kent gave Iwade an air fence last season.
  16. Should be pretty comfortable. Home win by 15
  17. Yeah last year I struggled to be engaged by the sponsor teams, with only the Monster Boys being heavily associated with their brand. I also think with Torun they should run a junior meeting first, as the big overtaking lines really develop after 15 or 16 heats....
  18. Don't see the problem tbh (I mean a 15 heat meeting should be a 90 min job, that is fact) But I d love a festival of speedway, I could sit there and watch 5 or six matches back to back. Especially if we ve travelled a few hundred miles, I want the event to last longer then my journey. To counter the bored kids theme, my daughter (turned 7 a few weeks ago) usually moans when it gets towards the later heats as she don't want it finish. (Tbf quite the opposite when it's cold or damp, she then moans cause it's not finished) As long as there is action happening I d happily watch all day.
  19. Thing is a kent we can fill many places. Rowe Spooner Andrews Cousins plus the Iwade and Lydd regulars we are blessed with talent in our area.
  20. Kent kings SDL side will run out of Iwade. Tbf the youngsters and newbies round here we could put 2 or 3 teams in the MDL format. Can't believe anyone in their right mind is trying to use the NJL format. I ve spoken to no one whom rides who has any interest in what is frankly a mickey mouse format. As mentioned elsewhere 4 × 500cc bikes a side. If you want 250cc or 125cc then give them demonstration races after heats 2,4,6 to give the mdl boys a chance to refuel and get breath back.
  21. Giant bull sacks.....Thought the rules were build a team that increases it's individual averages. Not the total average of the team. So I thought I was being clever picking a load of 3 pointers..... Can I change it prior to season or is it tough luck for being a smart arse.
  22. D Ayres 8.56 D Greenwood 6.82 D Hume 7.33 B Hopwood 5.83 K Dugard 4.28 T Brennan 3.00 J Jenkins 3.00 Total 38.82
  23. Tbf Eurosport have been plugging it for a while. That said I posted at 5pm speedway live on Eurosport on my facebook and the amount of people who only knew about it because I had posted. I ended up watching it twice as my dad turned up at 8 as he did not know it was on.
  24. Perfect mate. Just to confirm I have clicked the link and I ve got a countdown clock to when stream goes live. So looks like it's gonna be good to go in UK.
  25. Sorry brum fans for keeping off topic. But when the scb and bspa don't do a great deal for the league (other then try dictate rules which offer no benifit) if the mdl and sdl don't get the go ahead what is stopping the leagues running outside of the authorities. Much like amateur events etc. Stopping these leagues can only cause negative effects on British youngster development.
