  1. Jack Thomas uses one. He is obviously still working out set ups, and has been like a rocket ship on it and other meetings really struggled to find speed. My observations of watching riders on them is when there is material on the track they are continually pulling. On more slick surfaces they seem to struggle. Give riders long enough the forget everything they learned about the GMs and JAWAs and learn everything from scratch again, that's when we will find out just how good these engines are.
  2. Also take into consideration that come the play offs, some riders will rise to the pressure rides, others will feel the pressure. At this stage of the season it's just about being in the top 4. Eastbourne will always be hard to beat at Arlington so realistically 3 or 4 away wins should get you the play offs no problem.
  3. It maybe just because I am on my phone but could not see a price mentioned.
  4. If Wallinger can get the hang of the track this could be a lot tighter then many of us expect. On Facebook I predicted a 52-38 scoreline. I expect in the form he is in that Hopwood could be the big difference in the match.
  5. Since I ve been going down there, I ve always considered the straights to be hard n bumpy. But it always produces good racing because the banking on bends 3 and 4 mean riders willing to attack the track can make big swoop around riders. I don't recall riders often rearing up in the bends either. So it's a track the riders can trust.
  6. The NSS and the IOW along with kings Lynn are the tracks you d want mason to miss as he doesn't score well on the fastest tracks.
  7. With no Jenkins for Mildenhall that significantly weakens the home side, but kent will struggle to cover for the flying Hopwood so Sunday is something of an unknown tbh.
  8. I know the rules allow this, but I don't think the bspa should allow a rider to sign for a club (doubling up or down) that has the same race night as the riders original club. A right kick in the teeth for common decency for me.
  9. Was a good meeting and well worth a tenner. 5 years ago I had no speedway to go to, now I have it every week. Crowd was down to around the SDL double header level but still a few hundred fans. I know a few stayed away to save money for the 2 away matches next week.
  10. Do agree the pairings sleep lop sided. For my the most competitive pairings would have been. Morley or Bowen paired with Spooner and Andrews Stoneman and Clifton Hopwood and Thomas As all 4 pairings would have very similar starting averages. Hopefully the track is prepared for some quick times allowing Bowen and Morley a crack at the track record. Hopwood also posting some quick times recently as well. My big fear is watching 4 of our own riders hitting bend 1 together and picking up injuries or broken machinery. But being glass half full I appreciate the fact that we get speedway once a week all season long. Some clubs have 3 or 4 weeks gaps which amazes me. The crowd will be about half the usual size I d suggest, but still a crowd many clubs would welcome for a competitive fixture.
  11. What's Stefan Nielsens average. Are there no other riders in Carrs position who are struggling at PL that could do with confidence boosting national league points. What about recently lost to the sport riders like say a Moggeridge. I suppose it's a case of see what the first big average shake up does and who is left without a club.
  12. Kent usually push for a 1000, I would say we had excess of that last Monday despite the whole of Kent suffering heavy rain. Probably only be 300-400 for the pairs meeting this Monday, but the line up is not exciting and we only get 12 races for the reduced rate of a tenner entry.
  13. I always struggle with polish speedway streams as without understanding the commentary it's harder for me to follow. Having English commentary hopefully will make it more engaging. I don't have a team in Sweden or Poland but cheer on which ever team the odd token brit pops up in.
  14. Which is handy for me as wife signed a new contract till October (I wanted to go over to bt tv when the coverage switched) so paying 27 quid for bt sports is softened by getting the polish and Swedish so cheaply. Not to mention nascar and BRISCA
  15. Great news and at 1 quid for first 2 month great value too. (Think it's 11.99 a month after but you have no contract and can cancel with 30 days notice.)
  16. What about the riders who would of taken the day off work, as would family and mechanics etc. Lose a days pay for no reason.
  17. Q1. How many meetings will ellis perks ride for Buxton this season ? 1 Q2. Who will finish bottom of the NL ? Plymouth Q3. Who will finish top (not win the play off ) ? Belle vue Q4. who will end the season topping the Nl averages ? steve boxall Q5. Which current nl rider will end the season with the highest championship average ? Ellis Perks Q6. Which west midlands (birmingham, cradley) rider finishes the season with the highest average? Danny Ayres
  18. Tbf strudwick was well off the pace against SDL opposition last week. And fell twice when no one around him. Really can't see after all these years how he can jump forward in performance.
  19. There is quite a number of riders on them flying and there also seems a number struggling to get them set up. But Tom Brennan who will go from number 7 to number 1 for Eastbourne in the first averages certainly seems to have got his to work.
  20. Deffo better then it has been, on a day with rain everywhere locally except at the track it must of been a nightmare to prep.
  21. Tbf despite the one sided scoreline there was a few very entertaining races.
  22. I don't know this as fact, but I suspect he would jump through hoops if the commitment was there from the powers that be.
  23. What's value got to do with it, nearly every speedway fan I know buys a programme regardless of value. A speedway meeting without a programme in front of me is very hard to follow. (Especially if rr is in operation) If Eastbourne are concerned about costs of unsold programmes then perhaps it would be an idea to print an extra couple of hundred race cards and sell them for a quid once the programme has sold out.
  24. Funny how the dribblers are going after Tai, you gonna write rubbish about #rico as well or Scott. All have/had similar problems with the British hierarchy of speedway and all have made themselves unavailable. Yet Tai is a bit more "street" and has tattoos (which I don't like personally but that's my problem not his) and has used bad language on TV a couple of times. And he is described as a Yobbo or a foreigner. Tai is very approachable, has anyone slagging him off on here actually had the balls to go ask him that his gripes are? I have asked him and could not disagree with any of his points made. Tai is willing to invest money, time, and expertise on young brits but rather then support Tai or even just let him get on with it off his own back. They want him to jump through hoops it seems.
