  1. Having gone to the recording Tai came across very well indeed, to the point I had many people come up to me and ask about Tai and speedway. (Had my Clifton racing hoodie, and tw108 hat on) all said how well he came across and that he seemed outspoken but not in an arogant way. Clare Balding who I have seen discuss speedway before, also seemed very knowledgeable and understood the politics. Tai had great chemistry with fellow guests tai kwondo star Bianca (forgot her surname) and Frank Lampard. And it was a thoroughly entertaining evening.
  2. He came to kent in the end of season challenge from brum and scored double figures, guested for kent at Stoke at #5 and looked good and scored well. So I an a pretty happy kent fan with his signing.
  3. Clouting, Hampshire, Rowe, and Thomas confirmed for kent.
  4. 1.??? Bowen ??? 2. Rowe (confirmed) 3.??? Stoneman ??? 4. Hampshire (confirmed) 5.Thomas (Confirmed) 6.Clouting (confirmed) 7??? Laker??? I'd Certainly be happy with this, and feel confident we have enough growth potential.
  5. Think if they are aiming at a total new crowd then some big booming speakers and clubby music ala cardiff could be a strong idea. Run some promotions with the local night clubs and coach company where you have a night at the speedway then a bus will take you to a club in town where on production of your speedway ticket or programme you get in for free. It's a big gamble as you need to attract more new people, then oldies you may lose and alienate, just to break even. People who bought blue and yellow merchandise may be a bit cheesed off, but hey ho. Whether you like the changes or not it most be nice to know your bosses are willing to roll the dice and have a go.
  6. Wonder if they chose not to apply, or were refused?
  7. So same average as last season but with 3 less teams.... The 3 pointers who are no where near ready will be required, and the old boys will all get spots. BUT I AM CONVINCED THIS WILL PUT AROUND TEN OR SO UP AND COMING RIDERS ON 5,6,and 7 Points will be without a club. Making the whole development league arguement redundant. Improving riders in Thier 2nd or 3rd seasons are not being developed at all, simply bring left to rot. Last year was bad with Stefan Nielson, Joe Jacobs, and James Sargent(off the top of my head) all without clubs, I fear 2018 we will have aprox double figures of decent, potential filled riders starting the season with no club, also meaning they are unable to guest.
  8. If Coventry fans believe this, then all the more reason to prevent it happening by supporting the venture, proving there is support to warrant a new stadium.
  9. I assume Steve Rees, who is a very pro active promoter, and reaps the rewards of some very big meetings.
  10. If it does not go up the league will be a shambles, can anyone name the 24 odd required 3 pointers that are close to league ready.
  11. Yeah forget earning anything, even at 30/40 quid a point you aren't going to even break even (without sponsorship) if you look after your machinery properly.
  12. Again to the best of my knowledge (and I was in the pits a fair bit in 2016) all riders were on a set rate per point. And as far as I am aware James was on nothing like 35 quid!!!! I don't wish to say the amount as I ve seen the contracts and don't think it's on to divulge private information. But clearly you know best...
  13. So the date has been set, what are people's hopes? Personally I d like to see 12 teams Points limit to increase. And the NT to be either completed before the league action, or after the league has concluded. What also like to see the KO Cup fixtures all to be held on the same week, so the competition does not get drawn out.
  14. Posted topic twice, so please delete this one plz mods.
  15. Neil, thanks for that. Of course riders may get extra help but as I say at least in 2017 all riders were paid the same per point at kent. And I ll be honest I was shocked at how low it was. 2 x 4 ride maxes does not even cover a service (before parts!!)
  16. The more I think about this, it is a real statement of intent from the Warriors. One of the leagues star riders, a solid engine room and a rider that seems to have caught the bug again in Campos, and one of the leagues stronger reserve riders. Best of all for Ben is he can get a premiership place without the fear of multiple clashes.
  17. Big investment from the Warriors, initially I fear this will benefit the rider more then the club. (In the sense of being a home #1) as he is not great on the big tracks. However Warriors have an out and out number 1 who could score maxes away at any track (except the NSS) And if Ben gets dialled into the track, this could be the season he kicks on and joins the upper leagues full time.
  18. Dunno where this cost thing comes in, I know for a fact all riders at kent get same money per point from 1 to 7. So the total average has no effect on the costs. Buxton have also stated they are about development so if thy put a young side in 2 or 3 points under the limit, then no problem for them, not like they have masses of fans to lose so not having a winning side is not essential. IOW another bad example when you consider the signed Ben Morley on 9.49, so they certainly won't want average lowering either. If the average did come down Mildenhall would be run away winners with 3 of the top 4×3 pointers available already snapped up
  19. As much as Georgie would be welcomed at Kent, his average really does not fit. Can't see him being anywhere other the Arlington tbh
  20. Surely Horton did not say a standalone speedway venue would not work. After all is he not going to be sharing at a pretty new standalone speedway venue now?
  21. He raced for the British young lions last year I believe too.
