  1. What a joke, took a hell of a lot to get time off work and for nothing. So looks like Buxton have screwed us all over by putting a league fixture on the date. How can things be changed so late in the day, I also notice that despite the fixture being changed, there is no press release on the bspa site...
  2. Think with most things in life, people only pass comment on the stuff that's wrong, when the public aren't commenting on something then you 've got that bit right.
  3. As a Kent fan I can't see how anybody could get upset with the Walker situation. Makes perfect sense to me and also completely acceptable.
  4. Tbf, with already dwindling crowds, I would of thought that criticising the fans they still have, would be the last thing the promoter would be doing..
  5. Tbf some of the downpours in the early evening, if they had saved the meeting from the over night track flooding there would have been no chance saving it a 2nd time so late in the day. A real shame as the Kent lads are on a roll atm so hurry comes in with less pressure at number 1 and the run of meetings should only keep that ball running. Wednesday will be a big test as Hurry has not hit big scores in his two previous visits. Stoneman and Rowe got rave reviews after last season's visit. And the track should suit the speed of Hampshire. Spooner and Thomas have been out performing their respective roles without recieving the plaudits they deserve. And whether it's Cousins or O Keefe in the other reserve spot both have been as fast as I 've ever seen either of them ride, and will be good for points. Must also congratulate the Kent Crayford Kestrals who won the SDL title by winning 3 (three) meetings at iwade on Sunday, and equally notable is Alex Spooner who with I believe one away fixture to come has gone completely unbeaten all season.
  6. I think this has the potential to be a mauling if I am honest, apart from heat 2 and 8 Brum will have at least 1 heat leader in every race. Thomas should be good for around 12-15 points, The engine room of Rowe and Hampshire have performed above and beyond this season, but 6 rides against tougher riders away from home is a big ask, something I have every faith they can do but don't want to put any pressure of expectation on them for this. The reserves match up quite well, Spooner has been great and picked up points not expected of him and Couzins looked far better then many reserves in his appearance for Kent Monday. That leaves Perks who on Monday looked sensational and dare I say too good for the league. He interacted with the Kent fans well Monday as all his wins were applauded generously, so hopefully he will be 100 percent committed tonight. Kent have had very limited luck with guest number 1s over the years. Not seen a forecast but hope weather is set fair for the number of fans travelling up. With so much talent on either side a bit of rub of the green either way could swing this. The Kent boys have risen to everything thrown at them recently, and with so many young heads, Jack Thomas himself no veteran has galvanised the team unit and the composure of everyone has been a joy to watch. Gutted I can't go myself as whatever the score, with the riders on show there will be some entertaining racing pretty much garunteed. As a Kent fan if you offered me a league point now, I would take that and stick it in the bank.
  7. I don't like the idea of 2 meetings run together. Never fully enjoy the play off semis when it's a double header, makes it harder to get emersered in events.
  8. Hopefully we get Knight, thoroughly wasted talent sat on the sidelines this season. What a way to save a season by having a crack at the play offs. Sounds as though O Keefe may be back by next Monday too. Not sure how to predict the Brum away match, I was shocked at the result our boys got last night, with one recognised hear leader. Rowe and Hampshire have been our key men in the engine room. In Rowes case he has slipped under the radar somewhat (which should only benefit him)
  9. Laker came out for the ReRun and struggled, subsequently he went to the hospital with a suspected broken wrist. Not sure if that's been confirmed.
  10. Was a very good meeting much to my surprise.
  11. 16.5.2.2 No facility is permitted to replace a rider, who although included in a Re-declaration has not made an appearance for that Team since being re-declared. Webster has not made an appearance yet as the meeting did not count.
  12. My understanding is a rider has to complete a meeting before a facility can be used. But as the meeting was abandoned after 8 heats and the result doesn't stand and effectively never happened. Had the meeting gone to 10 heats then obviously his one ride and withdrawal would of counted. We all know how fluid speedway rules are, although now you 've questioned me I am thinking perhaps it counts for number 1s.
  13. Webster has not yet ridden a meeting so no facility available for him.
  14. A drastically changed Kent side should now be favourites with them having to use a 3.0 unattatched rider for Webster. Plymouth have been the surprise package for me and are a threat anywhere. Thankfully for Kent, Boxall hit the ground running Monday. So 3 races against Perks could be very tasty. I missed the previous visit of Plymouth as was travelling back from Warsaw on the epic coach journey but I hear Atkins was very impressive at central park. Hampshire has made massive strides and is a key man again. And Spooner has been consistently scoring well too. Thomas has stepped up his game and it's almost a surprise when he comes 2nd in a race now. Never gives up and has stolen many points on the line this season. So far this term Rowe has slipped under the radar pretty much, but is always scoring 6-9 points and never gifting any away. When we have missed a heat leader this season Anders has thrived on the extra responsibility. O Keefe had really found some genuine form so missing him is a big loss, but in Jamie Cousins with have a likable local lad who knows the track and has the experience at this level. Andrews is hit and miss at central park, but Dugard and RTD always seem to go well. In summary hopefully we get some good racing and we avoid the accidents that have marred the last 2 meetings (both with Kent in good positions against strong oppositions) Don't think there will be a great deal in it but I think Kent should have enough to win on the night.
  15. How a 2 hour window is not a big enough window is beyond me. Think even clubs with later curfews would have struggled with an over 1 hour delay after 4 heats. It's one of those things, earlier in the season with the threat of rain we had a meeting done by not long after 7.30...
  16. I agree the only time a rider is ever likely to have someone off is a) if there is previous there and more significantly b) they are not gonna come off and injure themselves. And spearing someone mid turn us as likely to cause the spearer as much damage as the spearee. I do think though, and I accept I am on the safe side of the fence with no experience of the situation. That Brennan looked from the point he turned into 3 until he hit Stoneman on bend 4 as if he was gonna crash and I just feel perhaps he may of been able to lay it down before impact.
  17. The rules are quite clear, 1 guest, 1 rr. Unless riders are doubling up then can be replaced by a guest regardless. Neither are doubling up so no extra facility available that I can see.
  18. Which 3 point unsigned riders can even get close to that level though. If there were any available they would be signed by now, such is the poor standard of the many of the current reserves.
  19. That was nearly as bad a prediction as I made saying Plymouth would struggle to get any heat advantages at Brum....lol
