My opinion is Buxton just failed to move with the times.
-
I imagine Bursill, Verge, and Widman are shoe ins. And reckon if they can keep either on of the top 2 they will. Or James Shanes Think Hampshire would be a good signing for them as he always goes well there. I imagine they are looking at a Pool of riders including riders like Edwards Brooks Spooner Stoneman R Andrews Atkins Kinsley Bailey, knight, Hunter. To name a few potential options.

I heard IOW and surprisingly to me Kent are the favourites to sign him. I imagine the Cradley side will have thefollowing sort of look to it. 1# Max Clegg 7.38 2# Callum Walker 4.17 3# Joe Lawlor 6.61 4# Luke Harris 5.74 5# Danny Phillips 6.75 6# Josh Embleton 2.88 7# James Chattin. 2.0

Fully agree with that. The 3 clubs should have gone up. And hopefully a year later clubs like IOW Mildenhall and Plymouth would see a hopefully cheaper Championship as viable for them too.

I have always inwardly scoffed at the people who claim NL to be a ten quid league. With the weakening of the standard for 2 successive seasons the price point really has to be lowered significantly too.
-
Deffo want to keep the 7 man teams and current 15 heat format. Would like to see NL Clubs who sign a rider before a championship side, get priority on that rider. I believe the limit was too low this year, so with potentially less teams a big increase in the building limit is required. But at least 42, otherwise there will be riders no where nr ready to step up but averages too high to ride NL completely frozen out the sport ala Jacob's and Knight. More thought but yet urgency in setting fixtures and potential rain off dates. More transparency, the top leagues freeze out the amateurish National D League clubs. So let's lead the way here, have regular information about the goings on within the league put out to the public, have decisions explained to the public so it removes doubts, rumours, and bad feeling. Let's show the big leagues how to use social media as a tool and lead the way into a new exciting era for speedway..... Let Barry Bishop chair the meeting, and let decisions be made for the good of the sport not the perceived interests of individual clubs.

What happened to the Yorkshire team, so gone quiet on that front.

I think out of all the NL teams, Brum have had the most consistent noises from fans about their desire to go back up. Something to consider here is that if 2 teams don't go up then surely the points limit for the championship will need resetting? As the 38 points was set for 12 teams not 10. Or would the BSPA of used their heads and had a different set of rules should 2 sides not step up. Would be a further disaster for British Speedways credibility if one of the few details from the AGM turned out to be wrongly announced.

Don't know why either club is waiting tbh, everyone knows who it is. One issue I take from that article is around cost cutting, surely the same amount of points are on offer, so even than average was 25 points, the winning team is still gonna score 46 points plus. Any other signing on payments etc are entirely at the club's discretion, so they will still spend as much or more then they can afford to get the best riders to fit the new average. The only way to reduce costs for clubs is to reduce costs for riders.

Will then end of season averages be released before next season???
-
I ll take 3 of the top 4.

Tbf that email is private and not for public knowledge, please don't keep posting the contents or we will lose the valuable resource.

But by their own choice, not forced too by the rules.

A six or seven team National League is gonna be the beginning of the end of Kent I fear, hopefully Len sees sense and tries to join Brum and Eastbourne going up this year.
-
I know you can't garuntee anything in speedway even after it's official. But I think you can take it to the bank that Eastbourne are going up, Cook is going back, and that Brennan will almost certainly be first rider on the team sheet. And I can't help feel they will want to try and include Baseby and Wood too.

That's not true, Kent announced they made a profit for the 6th successive year. Which just shows being proactive on the carnival front, local shows, and getting fans to spread flyers and posters around the county really can achieve. The Warriors have been the most pro active club for some time, and their crowds have increased year on year despite its challenging location and race night. Mildenhall will have had a financial nightmare of a year, simply because their points Bill must of been eyewatering.
-
If they go to 6 man teams and the league is getting smaller in terms of number of teams, how many more young British riders will be without a team place. Less teams must mean the average must go up, all clubs should be able to track 3 x 7 point plus riders. Also with less teams and more riders to choose from, the top names won't be able to hold clubs to ransom with silly demands when there is such competition for team places.

I got lucky this year, walked for 3 hours to the stadium in that heat. Was outside as practice started. Queue for programmes was massive but showed my ticket print offs and got let in. Then found no drinks outlets open, lucked in again and saw someone I know who works for Monster and got a few fans of that free as refreshment. Next year as I got my tickets early this time I should be able to sit in my own seat for practice...

Speedway riders really amaze me, so in a week it's announced Rzeszow owe Nick Morris £28k, one of his Aussie mates signs up there...
-
If they go 6 man teams then I am out. Likewise if the limit d8nt go up. Fed up of spending increasingly more money, for an increasingly watered down product.
-
I think his point is putting the pits on the infield is as bright as putting a moto x track there. Both unsafe, and would surely also block viewing the far side of the circuit. The less solid objects inside a speedway track the better imo

Having second rate foreigners taking places of equally or more talented Brits is a big issue. How can some foreign riders have 2 teams and many Brits are sat on the sidelines?
-
That would just leave the bottom clubs trying to lose matches matter in the season so they had an advantage a year later.
-
Seems strange that BWD gets a team slot over so many potential Brits. Is it the Brits ain't got the drive to go out there or is it the Poles don't want the Brits riding?
-
Can't you just gatecrash and fix speedway please.......
