  1. Although nothing official it has been sugg3sted the first meeting will be towards the end of February now as some clubs have been slow to organise their representative. Bit of a kick in the nuts as I had taken Friday night off work (work nights) to enable me to attend Saturday.
  2. Now planning on heading back to Berlin on the Sunday morning rather then evening. Is their any bundaslega speedway be Berlin does anyone know?
  3. I would much rather they delay the fixtures to ensure for example we get Belle Vue away on Friday and the following night stoke, and say Leicester on the Sunday. Thats what the fixtures have lacked in previous seasons, a bit of sense. Club's could have Warriors on a Thursday and gladiators on a Friday. We keep hearing about costs, well northern tour type fixtures would certainly save making 3 trips up north and for me far easier to organise as a fan.
  4. It just seems speedway officials make simple things a dam sight more tricky in all speedway countries. The mind still boggles that there is no meeting at Somerset or Swindon the Sunday after a gp. I just think it's poor planning not to think all these extra people in a certain area would nt like to maximise their experience with an additional meeting relatively local the following day. I know when they have a big banger racing meeting at cowdenbeath Scotland in a Saturday that a few promoters chuck event on the Sunday hoping to catch the southern drivers and fans on their way home for an extra crash. Could the temporary tracks not host a test match the lunch time after a gp. Making more use of the facility and giving fans an extra meeting?
  5. Why is it the turds in charge in Poland slam meetings on after every other SGP, but a 50,000 crowd in their own capital city and they put on nothing.
  6. Looking at politics, top flight football and youth of today, does common sense even exist anymore......
  7. We run every week Mac, something our promotion and fans are very proud of. Even challenge matches raised over 500 people on the gate. And in the summer holidays I am pretty sure we had a press release saying we had four figure crowds each week. Eastbourne over the last 2 seasons have had massive gaps in their fixtures, perhaps the new promoters will try to run weekly. Apart from the Kent based Eastbourne riders and a group of faversham/Canterbury based eagles fans and the odd neutral like city rebel there is very little cross over in fans, such is the strength of rivalry.
  8. You must try Kent. Probably gonna be Monday night's at 6.30pm or if planning gets overturned in March possibly Saturdays. But outside Belle Vue and Cardiff it is the best stadium in the UK. If you do come I can point you in the direction of decent hotels, and could probably get you access to the centregreen for a heat or 2. And showing a bit of British hospitality I 'll even buy ya a beer mate.
  9. Can I ask what level of Hot Rods he races, ad I know National Hotrod drivers get start money and good prize money. Anything below that is a turn off to the crowds, does nothing to bringing revenue in and is purely a filler formula whilst we repair the bangers or stock cars. So it is totally reasonable to expect to pay to race. (As i did all my career). Speedway however is the sole thing that brings in the cash to speedway, and is far more expensive then running a car. (Except Nat hot rods, Brisca and saloon stox) And there are 14 riders max compared to 200 cars at a race meet.
  10. Nothing after Warsaw gp again which is a shame.
  11. A lot of what holds us back as a sport is a lack of the product being put in people's faces online and on tv. I don't know the ins and outs of everything but it's seems this seems to be because GO Speed??? own all the video and broadcast rights. Meaning that we (as a sport) can't go and offer the NL or Championship (For free!) To potential broadcasters, fans are being threatened with stadium bans for uploading heats to the internet. (No I am sorry but if your happy to watch grainy vids online to replace attending meetings and buying dvds, then chances are you was never going to go much anyway.) Offer what is a fantastic raw and simple to follow sport is almost being kept in the shadows due to the stranglehold a middleman company holds over the entire sport in the UK.
  12. It's about time the BSPA did something to prove that they are viable.......
  13. Watching the crashes and cock up DVD, despite reading how close the houses were, I was shocked to see them with my own eyes. Honestly any optimism of a long-term home at the Abbey has all but gone for me. Really hope I am proved wrong.
  14. What are local taxi rates like, I 've discovered I can get to vojens relatively simply by train for less then 100 quid each way. But then the accommodation I am Looking at range from 8-11 km from vojens. Just wondering being in the relative sticks how easy is it to get around? Thanks in advance.
  15. rubbish not sure how I missed that at the time, how long did he get?
  16. It's nice to visit somewhere new without a 24 hr coach trip, being a non flier can be quite restrictive at times.
  17. Hoping to try something different and get train down to the SGP qualifier at Lamothe Landeron, France. Are the dates and venues set in stone, as train is already very expensive, and doesn't appear to be masses of local accommodation. Also how early do the federations submit their entrys for these events. I will be less keen if the sole Brit out there is not gonna be competitive.
  18. Last year the fanzone was abysmal in all honesty. The tiniest monster platform, a tent with monster bikes, a boll tent with 2 computer games, and a tyskie bar and bbq area. There was a few sgp stands but all had same merchandise. A few independent stalls which had more variety then the sgp stalls were situated near the station. For first timers you won't believe how easy the metro is. One line north to south, one line east to west. Trains every couple of minutes, and ticket costs about 60p for 20 minutes. The place is so easy to navigate, the people are extra friendly, and language is no barrier as most people have at least basic English, and resteraunts have English menus in addition to the Polish. Nowy Swiat is a good street for bars and resteraunts etc and has it's own metro station.
  19. Don't like the idea of a super league that much, but the idea of a British club entering the top flight polish league offers a range of benefits to both nations. I think the marketing potential for polish companies into the British market is probably pretty appealing to Polish sponsors, and of course there is already a lucrative tv deal in place meaning every meeting is live on tv, that will be the main revenue earner, with the gate receipts being a bonus. I think the Poole, Belle Vue, and Bees are probably the most famous names outside of GB (so Pearson and Tattum have said many times, the world famous....) so probably most marketable. And the sort of fixtures the NSS was built for. Unlike many nice notions and well intended ideas on here I actually think if the right people got behind it, could be set up within a couple of seasons. Logistics aren't that big of an issue with riders on planes as often as pilots during the season anyway. Could it happen, possibly. Will it happen, I very much doubt it.
  20. Regardless of the planning meeting, Kents opener will be on Easter Monday, the 2nd fixture will be May bank holiday Monday 2 weeks later, the following meetings will be either sat/Mon depending on planning decision.
