Assume Cradley will need a rider change now.

Think kent must have one of the most cursed seasons in existence.

With Belle vue set to be demolished this winter, this leaves the brisca stock car community another shale track down. And bradford used to attrack big grids and crowds for all stick car classes and indeed one massive banger event a year So if the two sports can get a cohesive joint proposal together, something may come of it.

Speedway Promotion or Lack of it.

Although in Peterboroughs case, without the "delusional" owner there would be no speedway at all. -
Most peoples formulas have Kemp as some one that should be there. I mean no disrespect to either Bomber or Kingy but I feel that they should almost be embarrassed to accept a reserve birth at thier stages of their careers. Both have won races at cardiff, so a night sat in the pits watching really does nothing for them. But for a young talent just sitting in the pits with the gp boys would be massive experience and the opportunity to ride in front of the packed stadium would be inspirational for these lads. Someone who finished in 5th and without the serious injury last season would of had a shot in the gp qualifiers is stevie Worrall. For him the opportunity to get a ride could put him on the radar in poland and Sweden and help his career move on to the next level.

I dont think we can hold jake back to much as it stands a couple of defeats to Mildenhall and Belle Vue Monday would leave qualification for the play offs no means a certainty.

I just think it's simple, if you sign for Buxton first they have priority. Even if Poole then sign the same rider mid season, the original club must get priority. A simple fix that would cost nothing and add some credibility to the doubling up system. For the record it works both ways, if a rider signs for Scunthorpe first, and has a bit of a dip and takes a NL birth at Stoke to regain confidence, then Scunthorpe should always have priority.

It's the same as when Ipswich signed Nathan Greaves who rode for the Warriors. And Chris Louis then had the audacity to say he didnt realise IOW was a Thursday club.....

Eastbourne v Glasgow Semi Final
teaboy279 replied to Hunters's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I can understand to a degree peoples confusion with the way the ban affects different clubs differently. I dont see any way around it tbh. Think rugby among other major sports, suspend players for a period of days, rather the matches. It's another consequence of doubling up and if we dont start to restrict this immediately then things will only get worse. It should go back to british riders only, and for a max of 2 seasons (a which point they choose to ride at higher or lower level.) I see riders say they need the meetings to make thier noney, but then they say the bikes need servicing every 20 or so races. So surely it stands to reason that a few less meetings whilst affecting income would also reduce outgoings equally? -
I think it was 2014 when ben Wilson returned to the sport riding for Stoke I recall, and thier season was ruined when they had to let him go when Sheffield signed wilson in the then Premier league. On a similar note, I feel with the doubling up and indeed in Perks case tripling up. That a rule that should be brought in immediately is which ever club signs a rider first SHOULD HAVE PRIORITY for his availability.

IOW Warriors v Mildenhall Fen Tigers 8/8/19

Tbf Wood is in the form of his life, and missing meetings in this form must be costing him a few quid. So cant imagine anything but a genuine injury. -
GP Challenge Final (Gorican) - 24/08/19

Yeah, whilst I am a Bomber fan I doubt very much that he would ever be competitive at GP level again. BUT if he does qualify he will have done so on merit and no one can take that away from him. Be nice to see 3 brits join Tai but i'll settle for at least 1. I think Lambert will probably get a wildcard in 2020 baring injuries dropping a title contender out of the top 8. -
Sounds like concussion for Danno, and broken shoulder, ribs, and bruised lung Adam Extance. Hopefully both make full and swift recoveries.

GP Challenge Final (Gorican) - 24/08/19

At Frickes current scoring rate had he raced all GPs he would be well inside the top 8, and Lambert made 2 semis so they ve not exactly failed to deliver. But then Tai has not won a heat in 2019 and that demonstrates how strong the line up is this year. -
I remember Danny's first meeting at leicester for a Raiders team , he won a race despite recounting twice and finishing with a puncture, a true hero of mine and a good mate too. Had his mum not suffered her horrid illness and then sadly passing away, i am sure he would be a top flight regular. He really has polished off the rough edges in 2019.

When Gilkes was injured at stoke, I was stood in the pits when chris hunt was told it had to be a 2.0 unattatched rider, ruling out Couzins O Keefe and a couple of others I think who had 2.something averages. The rules at the time did say 3.0 unattatched riders to replace missing reserves. But assume this was a clerical error when they were published and should of read 2.0 riders.

In past years I ve always paid the extra and booked my tickets through Ticketmaster as you can pick where you sit, as far as I can tell the only way to buy tickets this year is through see tickets and with them it appears they allocate a block they are trying to fill rather then let you pick you seat. How have people got the seats they wanted this year (I know there was a deal where you could retain your seat if you brought them before a certain date)? Has anyone phoned them before, I noticed they charge extra per minute on top of the standard rate. Do you speak to a human or is it all just an automated service? Thank you in advance.

Luke Harris Cradley rider and ex Kent rider has today posted on facebook saying the central park track was the best and smoothest it has ever been when he has ridden it, Monday night.
-
Obviously not so much monday night itself, but longer term having a big crash like that and all his injuries holding up can only fill the lad with confidence, which should allow him to attack the track that extra 2 or 3 percent harder. Which makes all the difference at the top level. Seems genuinely likeable and humble young man every time I ve seen him speak as well.

As a first timer and therefore I assume a neutral, as a Kent fan I value thos comments greatly.

Can only echo that, it was a herculean task they performed! After a near 40 min delay after the unfortunate Alex Spooner shed a chain in heat 1 and suffered what looks to be another nasty injury the time was already stack against us. So when Jack Smith took out the backstraight boards at an alarming speed it looked to be a cursed evening, amazingly Smith got up straight away and the fence was repaired within ten minutes. Then the Spencer and Gilkes crash, quite frankly was as scary a looking crash as I ve seen in nearly 40 years, so once both riders were again unbelievably up and ok, I surveyed the scene and it was pandemonium. Airfence panels scattered everywhere, mesh fencing ripped down for metres and metres, speedway bikes wrapped around the greyhound track railings, and shattered kick boards laid everywhere. The fact the meeting ever restarted was amazing, and in all honesty I doubt there are many track teams that could of saved that meeting last night with the tight curfew we have. Not often do the track staff get much praise, so I think it should we wisely noted what a great job they did last night!! I think the way the meeting ended was unfortunate, as a kent fan whether Cradley got a point or not had no bearing to me once we secured our 3 league points. BUT they way the appeared to have secured that league point isn't the greatest advert for themselves. So 2 points on this firstly I m not a bitter loser as my side scored the maximum points available to us, and secondly many Cradley fans in attendance have said as much on facebook themselves. They only people that have disputed the gamesmanship are people who werent there. How many time have both sides used a Tactical Substitute in meeting, I dont recall too many. Looking at the visitors Luke Harris was like a rocket ship from the tapes and is so far improved during the race, it's great to see. Tbf most the Heathens seemed dynamite from the tapes. Clegg and Halsey both as good as I ve seen them at CP. Smith looked very quick at times and Spencer looks a solid rider too. Davies gets all the points available to him, and a month a reserve should build his confidence further. First time I ve seen McGurk and it's probably a year too early at this level for him BUT he stays injury free it will at least be valuable experience for the lad. Kent's misfortunes continue, but it's all doom and gloom with Gilkes returning and instantly banging in 3 heats wins, Kemp got faster as the night went on, Anders was not phased by the number 1 berth, and Jake Mulford continues to impress with some astoundingly brave outside passes on far more experienced riders. And Jason Edward's not his best night but always a welcome guest with an honest attitude to the sport he has many fans at central park. Take away the injury to Spooner and it was a cracking night of action.
