  1. Ablitt quit mid season / Wood didnt turn out for one team but did another. Massive difference. And you only have to talk to Kent Fans, there is a massive list of things he has done to upset people, which is why is he is so universally disliked at CP.
  2. I think a lot depends on what the bigger picture plan is, are we looking to build a winning side or a side with potential recruits for the CL team, or combination of both?
  3. Wood would be the most unpopular signing of all time at CP.
  4. Tbh once they get away that's not a poor standard. So probably a sensible place for Eurosport/Onesport to look at if they intend to expand.
  5. I was lucky enough to chat to a few FIM officials in the pits at Warsaw, and selling out Warsaw twice over still doesn't generate the profit a half filled Millenium stadium does. So who ever promoter is, it would make no sense to scrap or try to devalue the british gp.
  6. Are their many Scottish riders good enough for the NL, I only know Ryan Mac who will be a good 2nd string this year. Who else is knocking on the door on the youth and amateur scenes.
  7. Surely Bursill deserves another season, and Sheppard had the season of his life last year and could miss out on a spot. But without any other team announcements that looks a very strong potentially winning side. And attractive to watch as well.
  8. That's 6 home fixtures against weds clubs as we face the southern teams twice each. Mulford was announced last season so almost certainty and think Spooner is very keen to return. I was elsewhere when Len gave his speech but I am led to believe Ablitt was mentioned as in his plans. For JJ will be looking to return as well. I thought I had read somewhere that the plan had changed to run all meetings on a weds, but I may be wrong. If that's the case then no ledders or Gilkes, if we run Mondays for NL then both are a shoe in I'd guess. Believe Bowtell has signed for Plymouth, but I wouldn't be shocked to see Morley if he doesn't return to the Warriors (although I suspect he will as he seemed very happy on the island), would love to see Armo in the team.
  9. Looking at the way other teams have come together, I am think we have a mid table side and if we scrape into the play offs then anything is possible. Bacon, Gilkes, Ledwith, and Starke already know the fast way around CP so hopefully we will be pretty hard to beat from day 1 at home. And on paper thier are 5 or 6 teams we may be a threat to on the road. One thing is for certain, Good Friday cant come quick enough.
  10. Thinknits 2021 thatsvthe bigger concern in that regard.
  11. Jordan came back from serious injury this year, and then suffered all sorts of expensive mechanicals early season taking the fun right out of his speedway. Very much on a false NL average and is a solid prospect at Championship level.
  12. Fingers crossed we come out of monday with a 7 plus team league, sensible points limit, and the continuation of what has been the best breeding ground for young brits in many years. If Mondays conclusion is not favourable how many young brits with have expensive shiny ornaments sat on thier workbench, how much young talent would slip away from the sport. Mondays meeting is genuinely up there as one of the most important meetings for the future of british speedway that there has been for generations. Fingers crossed it all works out well. NL is the lifeblood of speedway in the uk.
  13. I dont mind sticking the boot into eastbourne when the opportunity arises, but you have to say there admission prices other this season and next have been cracking value, coupled with all british riders. It certainly should be attractive to holiday makers as well as locals.
  14. I dont mean this disrespectfully but I had got the impression you was a bit of a stranger to the lower leagues and youth riders. Trust me there is plenty of talent better then the aussie imports, if only promoters werent constantly trying to sign foreign assets for free.
  15. Hume has just finished his first serious injury free season of his career, so no where near his potential.
  16. To be fair why are we tracking raw aussie kids, when we have many many young brits set to be without a ride depending on size and format of the NL.
  17. Everything you've written there about a winter tour in Aus and NZ then say Argentina and the US and even Thailand, Japan and Malaysia who all have massive bike markets. Even a small foothold in those Asian countries would massively open up extra potentially massive exposure and income. And there must have been some research into moving into spain. Whilst setting up a domestic scene is a far greater task, on the face of it I can help feel a gp in a Spanish football stadium in the summer will not only be a major must do to hardcore speedway fans, but a genuinely feel you would get local fans new to the sport. Again you get a tiny slice of the Spanish pie and its massive in terms of sponsorship.
  18. I doubt that very much as he was given a 3.5 assessed average in the NL last season. Having read the press release now, you are right, apologies. Seems crazy to have a higher assessed average then last year when now riding at a higher level.
  19. Think the next name all Kent fans want to see announced is Dan Gilkes.
  20. My reading of the press release lead me to belief it's one big group with the top 6 going to the play offs, first and second into semis and third to sixth into the quarter finals.
  21. Anyone know what average jurica pavlic would be available on? I ve been quite vocal I like a mostly british team. But I think a punt on a lad with a stadium in his back garden is worth a punt if the numbers are right.
  22. Think he was really kicking on when he had his first bad injury. Hopefully another season injury free will see him kick on again
  23. There are plenty of other sports that have BYEs in early rounds to get the numbers right. For example in some drag racing competions it is possible to get a bye through every rnd into the final depending on number of entrants. I do think in speedway when Byes are needed the fairest way is to give them to either... The top 4 in the league from last season or the 4 semi finalists from last season.
