Our friends in Sussex (The Budgies, (or after the season in green and black) The Orvilles) dubbed us the kent dram queens a couple of seasons back.lol

Poole Pirates 2021
teaboy279 replied to Pirates Of Poole's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I have to agree it was high, but still had 800 plus come through the gates most weeks. -
Initially i plan to upload to YouTube and share the link around facebook and here. So it should be as simple as clicking a link once it's done.

Today I started a new venture. Kent Speedway Fans TV, will initially be a pre recorded show but if it takes off I hope to broadcast live ala speedway tavern (but a lot more amateur lol). Fellow fans Glenn Collins and Wayne Raines joined me to discuss the 2019 season and look forward to 2020 season. And we were joined by Dan Gilkes who was "live from the sofa" and he talks about his speedway history, reviews his 2019 season and looks ahead to his championship debut in 2020. Hopefully it will be ready to put out on new years day.

Kirkmanshulme Lane Stadium to be demolished
teaboy279 replied to Garry1603's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
It's a post and wire fence at Sheffield and it gets put up and taken back down on race days. It's a fair old feat tbh. -
And ten minutes into 2nd half there are still a few thousand watching the game underneath on tv while they drink a beer... The people i go with regularly, leave the match on 88 mins, 30 secs to get to the underground before its gets crazy. Last time I stayed till the end and just walked from the stadium to st pancaras. Took 45 mins or so and was relatively pleasant.

The social club just along from the track usually allows speedway visitors and is mega cheap.

Warsaw GP 2022 Saturday May 14th

I could easily live there. -
For all my sins i am an Arsenal fan, and have a few mates with season tickets so I can go pretty much as often as I like. I dont care what the stats say, I ve been to the Emirates and there has been maybe 10,000 empty seats on more then one occasion. In fact in my last 3 visits it's only been the littlebaway section in the corner totally packed. I think they must count season ticket holders regardless of whether they attend or not as that seat isn't for general sale.

Poole Pirates 2021

That's a pound less then Kent in the NL last season! -
I d completley ruled him out in my mind, but now with only 12 NL fixtures and no filler matches. Another season at Kent may just fit the bill nicely for Drew.
-
Gutted he is not at Kent, but my honest assessment of Nathan is that he is the best natural talent on a bike since Tai Woffinden. So it would be an utter waste of talent for him to leave the sport, so I am very glad to see him riding. Once his belief matches his talent the sky is the limit imho.

On the travelling front (not sure kent have confirmed night for NL racing yet) but potentially with sensible fixture planning you could do Kent weds, IOW thurs Plymouth friday and maybe even Leicester on the Saturday (although I d try get BV on a friday, leicester on the sat, and Mildenhall on the sunday. Can cover all 6 away fixtures in two weekends away, tough on man and machines but also potentially saving a fortune on fuel Bill's, and probably get some travelling fans taking in a southern tour.

With teams announcing riders, will we fans get any presents this festive period at kent. Can see Mulford, Jenkins, Spooner, Clouting all getting berths, I imagine the Gilkes family would like Dan to continue at national league level too. Ablitt,Couzins and Laker must be in the mix for the 2nd reserve spot. Leaving us high 9s for a number 1. Flint is free and fits the bill perfectly if he fancies a bit of travelling. Ben Morley is the obvious number 1 but I think he is almost certain to stay a warrior.

Train tickets all confirmed as far as berlin, with over night stays there weds and sunday. Cant book the polish trains till 90 or 60 days before. Biggest worry now is my partner is due to give birth on the 29th April, so any delays there and there may be at least 1 empty seat in the Arena. -
Literally all the info you mentioned is in the article link you ve quoted.

Kirkmanshulme Lane Stadium to be demolished
teaboy279 replied to Garry1603's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
There is a tribute to him in the main stand under the commentary box. Very sad day for the sport. They removed the rope and wire inner fence a few years back, although dont recall seeing any car make it onto the pitch after its removal. -

I believe the fencing down the straights has now been removed, it's just massive tractor tyres protecting the pitch. -

Whilst I doubt very much you would ever see cars at the NSS, it not totallyvimposible as cars race around the football pitch at Cowdenbeath FC. -
Poole Pirates 2021

I do think after showing some promise in Poland during one of the last world cups, if he had not had that bad leg break, Stevie Worrall would of got a polish slot and be knocking on the door at international level. -
Birmingham Brummies 2020
teaboy279 replied to ProudtobeaBrummie's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Bad times for motorsport on the midlands with Birmingham Wheels being shut down on 31st January. The council set up charity owe, the council 600k, after the council imposed retrospective rent increases on it's own charity!!!! All the various motorsports and experience days are all paid up to date on thier rent etc and are all going to be homeless. There is some stipulation that if the businesses were viable (which they all are), then the council are obliged to find them an alternative site. In the unlikely event that this ever happened, I wonder if getting the speedway included into the new complex would be better logistically for the Brummies. As I say I am pretty sure I ve got more chance of a Nigerian prince phoning me about a lottery win then a new venue being found. But hey pipe dreams do happen some times.
