Individual Manipulation Of Averages

So we can only debate things if we have evidence? That would make discussions very short. You have the like of one (ex) promotor so i'll bow to your knowledge and evidence. -

How are you supposed to motivate a group of riders if your only ambition is to make it through the season? -

Ok we're getting nowhere. Although i stand by the opinion that anyone who enters a competition without any goal beyond survival is mental. That goes for all sport and not just Speedway. -

Nah, it's just about survival apparently. You got any to support yours? -

Exactly, it's a viewpoint. You suggested i should accept i was wrong? Why would i accept my view was wrong? I don't understand your last sentence. Are you suggesting i was getting personal? -

It was patronising. Nothing i posted suggested i don't have financial nous. We can agree to disagree. Enjoy your cracking stadium, shop, food stalls etc. If your lack of trophies continues one can only assume you'll be content? Attendances will drop. -

Thanks for the patronising second part of your post. Promotors will not pitch up year after year if they don't believe somewhere deep down there's a chance of winning something. I just don't believe they assemble sides each season with no expectation or hope at all. -

He might as well pack it in then. What's the point? Do you think the Facennas will be happy with your second option there? Not on your life. -

Of course trophies are the top priority. Why else would a promotion put a side out? Entertainment is a welcome addition but first and foremost people go to see their team win. I obviously want Edinburgh to survive but the threat of closure has been their for years and we've made it through each time so i'm not going to have sleepless nights about the thought of closure. I don't think we have got to the stage where Edinburgh fans expect to win everything (you'll likely disagree), that's when it becomes bad. To use your football analogy, i can think of nothing worse than being a Celtic or Rangers fan and with it the expectation of winning everything. As a Hearts fan, the weekends where we have won the Scottish Cup 'recently' have been out of this world. If we somehow win the league i think i better take the month off work! Rangers are still winning every week (well, last season and today aside ;-p) so not sure why it's so different to the pervious years where it was also the norm? -

That's fine but the rules in speedway don't really allow for work in progress for the team as such. As we all know the minute you get a settled and successful side it's ripped apart. Seven trophies in two years. I'll settle for that i think. I visited Ashfield for the first time this year and was very very impressed. It's great to see some investment in the sport up here. Don't get too comfortable though, we all know from the horrible world of football that people can become disinterested quickly! A few more seasons of no cups/leagues they might want a new toy to play with. I hope not though. -

Yes, not sure how to prove that to you though? Love the fact you think it's only the your/you're part of the post i was going to correct. -

I'll resist the temptation to correct the above. Glasgow's decision to offer a team spot to someone who wasn't set up to compete that season was questionable to say the least. Long term lurker but new poster. Weej paranoia out in force again! -

As is the Wolbert going to Glasgow to lower his average but that comes up just as often if not more. The difference is, one happened the other is paranoia on a huge scale. -

Predictable yes, tiresome yes. But accurate? Absolutely yes. -
What would Tabaka come back on average wise?
-
If Cook goes to Glasgow then it is a money thing pure and simple. I'm not saying for a minute getting paid at Edinburgh isn't important but he rides a lot for the jacket too IMO. Bleeds blue and gold.

I was a little suspicious -
Absolutely. People suggesting he should go full time Elite League for a challenge are missing the point slightly. It's not sustainable as you say. If Cookie rolls up to tapes in March don't get me wrong, i'll be delighted.
-
I think he probably has but isn't saying. Probably time to move on for him and the club IMO. Keep Sam and Kevin and build the team round them. What average is used for creating teams for next season? Their closing one?

Healthy transfer fee then please.
