This is absolutely spot on. You need to try and find a gem. For every Pickering there is a dud but I always find it quite exciting having a bit of an unknown quantity in the team. Thomson was a good find for Edinburgh this season and it wouldn’t surprise me if we looked to Oz for a similar type signing for 2022.

If he’d stayed then great but it’s not the end of the world. He was great round Armadale but was a bit iffy away from home too often. It all depends who we get in to replace him. If for example we persuaded Cook back and managed to fit him, Sam, Josh and Kye in without a ridiculously long tail then Richie will be a distant memory!

I think whatever the back story the Worrall situation it has meant Edinburgh possibly need to rethink a little. I’d have thought Glasgow would have announced a couple by now. Brennan and Cook being the obvious.

Possibly or again Redcar/Riss assumed he wouldn’t be needed so started talking before given “official permission”. All speculation but that’s what this time of year is all about.
