Poole Supporters Helpline 0871 30-60-30-60
Shockster replied to Mark's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Hans Anderson must love the 30-60 scoreline. Lejonen thumped at home tonight in Sweden. -

I thought it was a really good meeting and a fab final. Just watched it as I had to record and thoroughly enjoyed it. Brilliant sport. -
Poole Vs Rye House Thurs 10/8/17
Shockster replied to LisaColette's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Any news on riding order yet for both sides? -
Sky Speedway V BT Speedway? From my point of view I haven't really noticed much difference in quality from one to the other. Yes, maybe an odd battle at the back has been missed but maybe that's inexperience. I obviously don't watch it as technically as some and I'm happy with the programme. I hope BT stick with it and I do think the overall show is better. Sky are primarily interested in Football and all other sports are a foot note (TBF F1, Cricket & Golf are well supported). However, I'm not a Pearson fan when it comes to commentary, but you can't argue with his enthusiasm and at least Sudden Sam (loved him as a rider) is nowhere near. BT gets thumbs up from me whether they improve or not. If they do it's win win IMO.

Now the teams are set until the end of the season, I think Rye House could make the play offs. Kings Lynn are imploding and Poole are very poor at the moment. If KK kicks into form they have a team. It's def an if though.

Tungate is top notch tonight. He's the main difference with Bewley. -
Swedish Elitserien Round 10
Shockster replied to Ghostwalker's topic in International World of Speedway
Dave said in the broadcast Rune Holta was a good choice for reserve tonight. I think False Dawn was asking if they could choose "Reserves"? Apologies if I'm wrong. I understand reserves are the lowest 2 averages in the team? -

Great match tonight. Seems the track is OK. -

The Tapes & Unsatisfactory Starts

I think there may be more than normal to start with, but all changes no matter which sport need time to bed in. -
The Tapes & Unsatisfactory Starts
Shockster replied to Shockster's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
You may well be correct R&R and if so it would be counter productive. I do think it would be worth trialling in a few meetings though? Maybe in a track individual meeting with no "real" title at risk. -
The Tapes & Unsatisfactory Starts
Shockster replied to Shockster's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Interesting. Why would it become a farce? As long as riders avoid the tapes they would be OK! Why do you think there would be a lot of re-runs? The reason for my question was to cut out re-runs due to unsatisfactory starts! -
The Tapes & Unsatisfactory Starts
Shockster replied to Shockster's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I agree, it does seem to be better in Poland, but it's not always the case with the GP's. Is anybody actually AGAINST letting riders move at the start as long as there is NO tape touching? Should it be trialled? Personally I can't see a downside! -
The Tapes & Unsatisfactory Starts
Shockster replied to Shockster's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
OK, to counter that possibility, simply paint a white line say 30cm behind the tapes and the front wheel must be on or infront of it or something to that effect. Certainly not impossible to stop massive rollers. -
I understand the current rules state that riders have to sit still at the start and any movement can result in an unsatisfactory start and the race being stopped. This happens on far too many occasions and I agree with most people that if this rule is to persist then there should be no going back to the pits. It would still delay meetings though. However, why not let the riders move? Let them move as much as they want and if they get a flyer great stuff. We all watch meetings where certain gates are graves, well if they could move maybe it would be a leveller? If by moving though they touch the tapes then obviously they're out. No more unsatisfactory starts and the meetings would run more smoothly. Just a thought and apologies if this topic has been covered. I was reading the comments on the BT Coverage thread about meetings running over scheduled times and fans missing the ends of match.

Comfy home win for the Stars. Holder looked better last night for Lejonen and too many weak links for Swindon. Doyle & Morris can make it interesting though. Start delayed for Sun again??????

Could be a very close match at Dackarna with no Lindgren riding. -
Belle Vue Vs Wolves, Grand Final 2nd Leg, 5/10/16...
Shockster replied to Col's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Regarding the tactical rule. IMO I would not allow it in 2 leg matches. It is not needed and unfair. 1 team may get to use it and the other may not. That can't be right in a final especially. In 1 off league matches I see the attraction but not over 2 legs. You could get a situation where a 1 team gets 6 for the Tac and wins overall by a point and the other team never uses it. Surely this rule is flawed. Same for The World Team Cup really. If a team who's played the Joker and pips a team not having had the chance. -
Belle Vue - Swindon 14. 9. 16
Shockster replied to A ORLOV's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Tungate won a race and he said he was the Ni***r in the wood pile for Swindon. He had no idea at what he had just said and carried on as normal. It was just a stupid wrong ignorant thing to say and nobody really could believe they had heard it. However, he came back on the mike and apologised for what seemed an age. Everybody takes these things different, but it seems harsh for the guy to lose his job out of stupidity to me. -
Belle Vue - Swindon 14. 9. 16
Shockster replied to A ORLOV's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Belle Vue announcer has lost hi job after last nights ill judged comments. The guy cocked up and made a really stupid wrong comment, but he apologised and I don't believe there was any malice in his thoughts. He made a mistake,. Political correctness claims another victim. Give the guy a break. -

This is going to be a right tanking. Can't see Kings Lynn getting 30.
