  2. This may seem Mad but Plymouth could have won last night if they had gated first. Paul Starke 0 0 3 3 0 gated first twice two wins I enjoyed good friday meeting meeting but i think that is me finished for another season and wonder how many more fans think the same. Shame really because Poole have good entertaining team this year on good track it should good night out.

  4. RIP Brian. Many Weymouth Speedway fans have very fond memories of Brian riding for Wizards/ Wildcats.
  5. thanks Racer and Royals for posting videos It has been great entertainment this winter
  6. RIP Bob This so sad Bob was one of most genuine speedway fans that just loved the sport of speedway (even if he was a parrots fan ha ha bob)
  7. I think both cost cutting exercises kevlars and commercial manager just shows what a businessman matt ford is A businessman would have sold 10 advertising section on race suits at £350.00 each So 10 x £350 = £3.500 a race suit x 7 = £24,500 income. This income would pay for race suits and a wage for a commercial manager for a year. The commercial manager then could spend his time marketing Poole Speedway to increase crowds and gain more sponsorship. A good commercial manager with the Poole brand should gain extra £60,000 income over a season. But what did Matt ford do: He spent all his time putting a team together of riders on false averages which in turn probably means he had to use a lot of his sponsors to gain there signatures. At the end of the day Matt Ford can run Poole Speedway how he likes but Speedway needs to look at the bigger picture (not because Poole are getting rid of kevlars the rest of the teams should follow)
  8. £8000 / £9000 per meeting Rubbish or Speedway promoters are more silly than I thought I went to few Poole meetings last year and if there was more than 1500 paying fans they would be very lucky When you take 80% of the crowd are over 60 or kids then 20% of the gate money goes in vat. So you would be lucky to take £16,000 per meeting so Magic would have took all the gate money for a home and away meeting (mad). It is time for Speedway riders and fans to get real Speedway in this country can not pay anymore than £100 a point.
  9. Racer and Royals (you are the man) thanks for your information. We got to Ostrow not a bad meeting thank you. The day after Torun could you confirm that there is play off between Gdansk v Torun (trying to book which airport to fly too)
  10. We are going to both Gorzow & Torun Gp,s but having a major problem finding any meetings on the Sunday after GP. If any kind person could post any information of meetings on these Sundays it would help with a lesser hangover on the Monday
  11. Very good turn out and it was good to meet up with old friends again Days like yesterday shows how much interest there is in Weymouth Wildcats Speedway team A lot of people could not make yesterday and there was still nearly 200 people on a wet and windy saturday morning. Lets just hope that Weymouth Speedway has some luck for a change and Weymouth Speedway can come back better and stronger.
  12. I have just read Weymouth Track Review in the Speedway Star and i would just would like to point out a few facts.Anybody reading the Bartlett spin story would think that Weymouth Speedway was unviable which is not true if weymouth speedway was run right. I was Commercial Director (a big name for it) in 2006 /2007 for the wildcats. Me John Hawkins Ray Collins Julie Martin and with Paul and Ross from influx marketing We were the ones that did all these promotions ( Bartlett was on about SS) ie leaflets in every hotel, leaflets on every car in the car park, giving kids go free tickets on the seafront ect. We also made The Dorset Echo, Wessex Fm and Littlesea Holiday Park Media partners. In 2006/2007 we also gave away free tickets for people to sample speedway and hopefully they would pay the next week (which was working well) Weymouth Speedway has catering and bar rights for wessex stadium (we were averaging £5.00 ahead on top of admission price)so more people in the stadium the more money made. In 2006/2007 Phil Bartlet did none of the promotion work for Weymouth Speedway and in fact he thought it was a waste of time. In 2007 Weymouth Speedway were averaging 487 paying people per meeting we were also getting 30 plus people with free tickets so we were averaging over 500 per meeting. We run 23 meetings in 2007 and broke even over the season. So Weymouth Speedway can break even if it is run right. To sum up Phil Bartletts business skills in 2007 Weymouth Speedway was paying £1200 per meeting (23 meetings x £1200 = £27,600) In 2008 Bartlett went to the landlord for a meeting to reduced the rent and came away thinking he had done well. Since 2008 Weymouth Speedway has been paying £38,000 a year in rent you could not make it up
  13. Yes Thanks Ballinger it has been great fun this year Wessex wanderer now got to buy me a pint Stick to NL Wanderer this is the big boys stuff
  14. Looks like some good news for the Wildcats for once http://www.dorsetecho.co.uk/sport/8687815.Wildcats_saved_/ Lets hope the good news keeps coming
  15. What is wrong with NL racing i would watch NL racing rather than any other league racing Lee Smart rode in the NL last year and believe he was No 1 for Stoke for while last season (the NL is not a league for wobblers it is a good standard) If some of the upset stoke fans think back to the old Stoke teams which they used to watch in the 70,s and 80,s i would say they were no better than the NL league teams are now
  16. Weymouth Speedway can run once a week on a Friday or Saturday night March to October 7.00pm until 9.30pm Also they can run 2 training schools per month in the winter November to February
  17. Lets Hope now Weymouth Wildcats Speedway Team can move on now and all us wildcats fans can start enjoy our speedway again Lets also hope someone comes in to take over the club and starts building the crowds back up. With Bournemouth not running this year there is a good hardcore of fans that enjoy NL racing in Dorset so it is not all doom and gloom for Weymouth Speedway With the right promotion Weymouth Speedway should break even at NL level and then we can have a club that we will all be proud of again
  18. Just like to point out It was me and 2 other Directors that put in £30,000 not just me We were part of the consortium that run Weymouth Speedway in 2006/7 The money we put in was used to get planning though. At the end of 2007 the consortium had fall out. Mr Bartlett decided he could run on his own the rest is history But i was told that i was banned from Weymouth Speedway (still do not know what i have done wrong accepted for telling Mr Bartlett he was out of his depth which i have been proven right
  19. Well i am banned Me and 2 other directors put in £30,000 in to Weymouth Speedway so i would say we have paid I also noticed this money was not mentioned in the fantasy story in the Speedway Star couple of weeks ago I think it is time the BSPA did the right thing A lot of things that have happened at Weymouth speedway have not been put on the internet because people care about Weymouth Speedway and do not want to air our dirty washing in public Then the promoter post a post like this above (bloody crazy )
  20. Sad as it is to say Even if you could buy Weymouth speedway for a £1 with No debt you would have to be very brave man Weymouth Speedway crowds are less than 200 now and that is 250 less than break even You would also have to pay 6 months of rent with no income which is roughly £15,000 So if you also have to take the debts of Weymouth Speedway on god knows how much that is There are still businesses and people owed from 2009 The outlook is not looking good lets hope for Weymouth speedway sake some new owners come in and deal is done without them having to pay for the mistakes of the past 3 years
  21. There has been some great new British talent in this NL at Scunthorpe Kings lynn Rye House ect have they been held back by commonwealth riders NO The biggest problem the NL has is Journeyman riders that have not made the grade but expect to be paid PL wages to ride in the NL and the silly promoters who pay them
  22. From Dorset echo http://www.dorsetecho.co.uk/sport/speedway/8421257.Cats At last Phil Bartlett has admited that he has shareholders surely the right thing would have been to have sent each shareholder a letter or he should of had a shareholders meeting to tell them that he was putting Weymouth Speedway up for sale (He was happy enough to take their money) And surely he is selling his shares in Weymouth Speedway not Weymouth Speedway club. But to say to shareholders that if there is any money left after the sale the shareholders may get some money back can not be right I am not an expert in shares but i am sure that this is not the way football club shares work and i thought this shares scheme was based on that idea Robin Spicer
  23. I believe there was £18,000 worth of shares raised ( no Agm over last 3 years either ) Also me and two others ex directors put in £30,000 which after legal advice is class as director loans (but we have never followed up because the whole point of putting our money in was to save weymouth speedway so by claim our loans back it would have shut weymouth speedway down but it maybe a different story now) I believe there are other loans as well to other people which are at least £20,000 I would say Weymouth Speedway is in a bit of a mess and Clueless Claude has already run Weymouth Speedway Lets hope BSPA come in and do what they should have done a long time a go and someone comes in and gets Weymouth Speedway back to where it should be a good little speedway club helping young riders progress in the sport Robin Spicer
  24. can i have Rune holta as captain please wanderer have you been on the rum watch nicki go now
