  2. If the council wanted to help out they should of give the comets Derwent Park and let them run Speedway there while they go and build another stadium for Rugby and Football elsewhere. That way it would of been ideal training track too if land over Northside is earmarked for development.
  3. Cracking meeting tonight. Sheffield out the blocks first and thought hope we don't get beat, but the Bears fired on through and Mauled the Tigers even though they put up a great battle it just wasn't to be for them tonight. Agree on Ref situation was a bit radio rental. Was glad to see some Comets fans across including Tony Jackson. Just gutted i'm not going to see any racing there this season. Another good win for the Bears and hope they do well on Sunday.
  4. What ya blaming Ged for? He had the team last year going great and even though he sold the Panthers on if Buster had left him run it and done as well this season you would of been singing his praises. Ged Rathbone is dammed when he does and dammed when he dosn't.
  5. Enjoyed tonight's meeting very much. Have to say the Diamonds were caught napping at first, but battled well to keep up with the Bears. I think both teams have very good riders and this season going by tonight is going to be an interesting one. Have to say Danny Phillips was like a changed man tonight riding well. Stood next to a couple of Diamonds fans and they were good to chat too Hope The Bears can do it on Sunday away from home, but it's gonna be another mighty one.
  6. Worth every pound in my book. we go to watch two teams race that's my buzz sorted. Already lost my other home team of Workington along with all the other Comets fans and I would be happy to pay a bit more if they had to put the price up if it meant we still have speedway. Still far more value for money than watching them down the road kick a ball about for 90 minutes.
  7. Just shows even with this years championship not always spending big can still get you success over the big money spenders. Workington proved that one. Looking at Glasgow they look to have a good team too. Redcar have looked at the points and I feel have picked wisely with experience and youth eager to win. It can all look good on paper, but hopefully everyone's team in the Championship can do well on the track next season. Redcar have never pleaded poverty, but work to a budget no matter who was running them I hope we are up there higher next year.
  8. Some line up for the 2019 season and a good mixture of experience and up and coming younger riders. Our new team will have fire in their bellies roaring for success next season. Up the Bears
  9. Would be good if we could get Carlisle Airport to put some backing in by advertising at Derwent Park
  10. So sad as i've enjoyed coming over from Middlesbrough the past few seasons to support the Comets. It will be sad if it's lost.
  11. Is it rumour the club is folding or losing it's base?
  12. You would need someone that would have to work the way of the directors. Even if the Dinosaurs running or should that be ruining the sport? you need someone at the club that has the enthusiasm to make the club go forward and promote it, but if the directors want it run their way and people deem it not making the club be good again then there could be a wait for someone to agree to what the brothers want. Like him or loathe him about Havvy he ran the club with what money he had, but some don't see it that way. The same Kev has run it to how he would like the club to be run you always have the directors saying yes or no. I personally would of liked to have seen the brothers and other directors sell to someone that had good ideas for the club, but Dinosaurs don't like change. They would rather become extinct and let it go than see someone take it on.
  13. Still no news if we have a promoter for next season. If not then it will be Workington and Newcastle to go see next season.
  14. Fans are putting their hard earned into the track as well, but personally I cannot see how Redcar will survive unless the brothers put more in for next season. I would hate to see Redcar go NL because of lack of investment. As Ged seems to get a lot of mention about how good it would be if he bought it if the the directors sold out, but it will be a toughy. Do the supporters want the directors to keep it on and not invest as needed or leave it and risk moving down a championship?. I would rather see them sell out and let someone put new ideas into the club and move it forward.
  15. Well done to the Comets. Annnd another win. I like the Panthers, but Glad to see my other home team win again and Play offs here they come. Many wrote the Comets off last season, but this season they certainly turned heads.
  16. Lambert should of got a Bridegroom replacement for his day lol so he could ride ;-)
  17. seven 5-1s and four 4-2s. Don't get me wrong i like seeing both teams race, but this was something else when you consider people wrote off Workington at the start of the year because of last years team. This year has seen the team make even the front runners in the Championship sit up and notice and get beat at their own tracks by the Comets.
