Ipswich v Oxford Thursday 10th April
Fullmax replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Ipswich built the team that every other team in the Premier League would have dreamed of with all the team consistently contributing to the scoring Every other team assembled their squad with a few riders they wanted and filled the rest of the 7 with individual riders just to fit the averages left available to them They're the one team in the league I'd ever pay to watch home or away if I ever had the opportunity. -

But what a great team. It's a pity that all the other teams aren't allowed to strengthen to try and match them a little more. -

Will the winning rider from the British Final ( or runner up if Bewley wins) be the Wildcard for both nights GPs ? -

But what a weekend 🤪. It's the only GP we've attended where the Speedway is an added bonus and you have to remember to attend. And if you really don't like crap tracks and racing then you must really struggle watching racing over here . -
Grand Prix Ticket Sales
Fullmax replied to Beercellar1966's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
We've paid £600 in total , including flights, 3 nights accommodation in central Prague and GP tickets for this year's Czech GP. The exact same price as quoted for 2 nights accommodation at a local Premier inn for 2 nights in Manchester. I'll take a flat Speedway atmosphere in a great City like Prague any day of the week. -
Ryan Douglas Testimonial
Fullmax replied to Barrow Boy 2's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Yes , if it was anything like Prague last year, it pissed it down all day long until mid afternoon. The track covers saved the meeting from being postponed. I presume the same will happen at Belle Vue this year should the weather forecast be similar. -
2025 GP line up/wildcards
Fullmax replied to eric i's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Interesting to see 2 Russian boxers Berbatov and Bivol fighting each other in the Main Event in Saudi Arabia on Saturday night . Seemingly like the tennis, boxing doesn't regard the Russian invasion of Ukraine as a justification for banning athletes from their sports. Both those sports have coverage that only Speedway could dream of in the UK and I've never heard of any criticism of their participation in both sports in our press. What then is the justification for Sayfutdinov and Lagutas continuing absence in World Championship events? -
Cardiff GP 2025 Cancelled
Fullmax replied to Phil's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Yes I know , amazing how the prices have plummeted. Again this year ,we'd already decided we were never paying the ridiculously exorbitant prices for a couple of nights in a budget Cardiff hotel when for a lower price we could get return flights , 4 nights hotel accommodation and train travel for a GP in Poland. -
Cardiff GP 2025 Cancelled
Fullmax replied to Phil's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
What a pity the Speedway GP in Cardiff has been cancelled this year. Just had a quick look on the booking sites and the hotels in Cardiff are quite reasonably priced for that weekend. I think a fair few people may have made a weekend of it this year 🤔 😆 🤣 . -
Not really sure why the Lions team was announced over a number of days being as there were absolutely no surprises whatsoever in the team selection and 99.9 % of the supporters already knew the line up.

What a fantastic team Ipswich have assembled. The type of team that'd get you off your backside and want to go and watch if there visiting a track close to you. Time for other Premier League clubs to step up to the challenge and for their supporters to stop their constant moaning about the Polish League destroying British Speedway. It hasn't at Ipswich. Let's see more of the top GP riders over here that will draw improve the standard of the Speedway.

Tickets now on sale. Bought ours today. Another fantastic weekend in a great City is guaranteed with the added bonus of a Speedway meeting thrown in for good measure. What's not to like about that. 😀👍

2025 World championship dates....OFFICIAL
Fullmax replied to andout's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
But is a weekend in Wroclaw better than a weekend in Prague ! ? That was some weekend last year in Prague. Already booked flights for next May. Transport to and from airport to City centre and onwards to stadium can't be beaten for ease of access and cost 😀. Another GP weekend with flights and accommodation for less than 2 nights in a Cardiff hotel -
How about having a British team in the Extraliga more like ! How great would that be. Would have to be Belle Vue as it's the only decent British track available.

Torun GP Saturday 28th September
Fullmax replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Our 2nd night tonight in Poznan. Tomorrow we're on the train to Torun and spend 2 nights in Torun for the GP. Home Sunday. All travel and accommodation for less than 2 nights in a Cardiff hotel for our own GP. Something wrong there. -
Exactly 💯 %

Brilliant result and great to see that the NSS has another meeting this season . Makes the final worth watching
-
Has to be Belle Vue regardless of the strength of either team . Just a much better racetrack.

Ipswich vs Leicester play off Semi-final 9th Sept
Fullmax replied to ShanoXtra's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
What Leicester would give to have him in their team tonight. They'd be only one outcome so you're right what you say. -
Really enjoyed the meeting considering we were nonplussed about attending a venue over 5 hours from our home. Seems a lot of people weren't that impressed with the racing which surprised us. We enjoyed it Still think it's a disgrace that the majority of the hotels were half empty and still charging ridiculous overnight prices on the day. Not sure whether that's down to greed or due to a lack of staff in hospitality which is understandable. Speedway GPs are a weekend event and ideally you stay locally. Its no good having cheap family tickets if there's nowhere affordable for them to stay.
-
Let's hope so. Prices now are ridiculous. GP's for us are a weekend away and not just watching a Speedway meeting. Amazed that our own British GP is perhaps one the most expensive ones to attend in the whole GP calendar.
-
Are half the hotels in Cardiff going to be empty on Saturday night ? Will people honestly pay nearly £200 for 1 night in a Ibis Budget in Cardiff . They must be mad. We've always stopped but not this year . I refuse to pay more for for 2 nights in a Cardiff City centre hotel than we are paying for flights and 4 nights accommodation in Torun for the Polish GP. Infact if we hadn't already arranged to go with friends we'd have given it a miss. Definitely the last one for us.

Sheffield v Leicester - Thursday 1st August
Fullmax replied to 4BenMoran's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Whose idea was it not to have a draw and how long has this ridiculous rule been applied. I'm one of the target Speedway supporters who doesn't attend meetings anymore and how it's run nowadays that's not going to change anytime soon. -
Sheffield v Leicester - Thursday 1st August
Fullmax replied to 4BenMoran's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Aggregate scores level in a KO Cup match then by all means have the extra heat. I'd go back to 2pts for a win, 1 point for a draw in all league matches. That's it no bonus points whatsoever. Keep it simple -
Sheffield v Leicester - Thursday 1st August
Fullmax replied to 4BenMoran's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Saw a post somewhere saying why don't people go to Speedway anymore. Look no further than tonight .45 - 45 away at Sheffield. What a great point that used to be . Absolutely ridiculous that the home team walk away from that meeting with an extra point. Pathetic isn't the word.
