  1. but presumably his best engines will already be on there way.
  2. I would imagine Freddie is like a development rider. If there are new bits to being developed then Freddie would be the guy to get the first. Some might say that's not fair but that's how it goes. Buy a new car today and a new upgraded model comes out next week then tough, that's life. Things got to move forward and the same with a race engine. No doubt GM and tuners will be working madly to get extra power from their engine/tweaks - that's life.
  3. Buying a GTR cause of Freddies success is one thing, but you still got to be capable of making it a winning machine, and that is due to set up. Some riders can do that better then others, but thats the secret of success - set up.
  4. Shame about Zagar. He will probably be on the podium this year, may even win one, but he is not consistent enough to be WC or even in top three.
  5. Those guys were so fast last night, you needed to be brave and bold to get the points that matter. Re Pederson/Zagar. You cant block someone into the fence then simply dive for the inside position. NP fault - wrong man excluded IMO. Re Lindback/Pederson - saw nothing wrong with Lindback move.
  6. Good meeting, ran smoothly, and good racing. As the results of two meetings so far - 6 of last years GP riders wont be in next year. Mmm! I hope Freddie keeps up his form and the bubble dont burst too soon. Maybe it wont....that would be good for Gerhard engine sales.
  7. Last time Cook was wild card at Cardiff he got 7 which is pretty good when not used to riding at that level and pressure to deal with. This year he is riding a lot better - I hope he gets the wild card. But it has to be the 2017 British Champion.
  8. Actually Krsko looks a nice setting, a good grandstand area, and plenty of banking, as in Sweden, for spectators to stand. The Slovenian GP should have been a showpiece for speedway on at least 2 counts 1) the first GP of the 2017 season, what a showpiece that should be. The riders were up for it and it could.should have been a cracking meeting. Lost opportunity no 1 2) a showpiece for Slovenian speedway as well. I am supposing that it was shown on Slovenian TV, what should have been great TV viewing to encourage the people and the country to support speedway, turned into a damp squid. Lost opportunity no 2. Ah well, lessons will have been learned for next year.....or will they.
  9. Nicky was flying last year at the time of his accident - just won the Euro championship, next day was at Pardubice in the Golden Helmet meeting, 6 riders in the final, Nicky was last on the first lap, on the last bend (of 6 laps) he was challenging Emil for first and I think would have got him but clipped Emils back wheel. Has he has any meetings this year? From what I read last night was TW first meeting of the year and look what he did (or not do).
  10. If his looks appeals to the "yuff" then the stadiums would be full of "yuffs"......... are they? The last time I saw someone looking like TW was yesterday on the telly about Living on Benefits You may be right re the BBC/Question of Sport....... but maybe if speedway presented them with someone who looks presentable. Re Krsko.... I have no problem that Slovenia is a minor country speedway wise, but the stadium looks pretty smart, it was said 12,000 were their yesterday, not bad. It was the track preparation that was lacking. Someone making a case for more GP's in Poland........ absolutely not ! Three (25%) is enough. It is a World Championship, encourage more in other countries but making sure the tracks are ok (not like Finland attempt). There is still Russia (SEC this year may prove a possibility), then perhaps Czech Republic to do Pardubice.
  11. New rule required - watering of the track prior to start of the meeting has to be finished 1 hour before the start. They were watering heavily 30 minutes before the start.!!! Then looked like no grading for the whole meeting. The quality of racing was pretty dreadful - and that is all down to the poor track preperation, not the quality of riders capabilities. Got to be poor when gate 4 is so highly disadvantaged. Well done the top 3, Vaculik, Lindgren and Dudek, though as the season progresses I feel that Dudek might be the one who is more consistent. Dont think anyone mentioned Emil yet. Slow start to the meeting, but then tuned in, but picked the wrong gate in the semi (gate 2) when the "best" gate had moved over to 3. Cant remember any recent world champion in any sport that looks as bad as TW does - does'nt help to present speedway to attract newcomers. Has he been on Question of Sport yet? You get to see personalities from all sorts of sports but not speedway, not surprised really.
  12. So, Bruno, you gone to BT but set up your Sky box for tonight. Whats the deal there???? Are you paying to Sky as well?????
  13. Race card looks amazing - no weak heats. Looks like a really good scrap this year and the best really will be at the top. I know some liked the one match world championship better then GP format, but its when you get a field like this year the GP series really excels.....you going to see 12 world championship finals spread over the season.
  14. My post reads confusion, KN1, my mistake. Should have read "Maybe true, but we could still be a million miles behind Poland, With Denmark, Sweden and Australia 2 million mile behind, then the rest."
  15. Maybe true, but we could still be a million miles behind Poland, Denmark and Sweden, Australia 2 million miles behind, then the rest.....
  16. A bit like saying whoever wins the World Speedway GP's cant enter next year because it is preferred to have a different winner each year. If its an under 21 championship series and you are under 21 then your in it (if you want to be) Seem to remember TW getting criticised for not wanting to be in the British championship to give others a chance, now its being said you keep someone out so they cant win many times. Its up to others to raise their game. If I was an eligible competitor, won something last year, but excluded this year on the basis I already won it I would be naffed. I would expect to be in the competition again, and as long as I was eligible and wanted to do it. Equally, if I won a championship this year knowing last years winner was not in because they has already won it, then I would think that was a hollow victory.
  17. Is the lower crowd attendance just a feature of Poole speedway, or is it something generally going on.?? I am wondering after years of paying supporters grumbling about British speedway being down in the dumps (for all sorts of given reasons) whether this year they are voting with their feet and staying away from stadiums that dont give value for money. After all, many on here say BSPA are not listening to the paying public, well maybe could it be this year are showing their disgruntlement...... bt not showing up.
  18. Sad news, thoughts are with his family left behind.
  19. I just took it StheR was asking the order of just those 5, on the basis he never mentioned "of all time" or a certain time period. If it was supposed to be the top 5 of all time then the list would be completely different.
  20. Perhaps Wolves will "phone a friend" to help out and get TW back in. Last year Wolves bringing TW in and also Poole doing the same with Lindback cheesed me off. Glad it didnt work for Poole, but it did for Wolves and BV were robbed of the league title. Revenge I hope this year - and no silly nonsense near the season end.
