He may be, but Emil is a far better racer, that's the difference.

Pure jealousy. It took hard work by Mort & co. to get the council to layout for a new track. No doubt they reminded the council that Hyde Road track was of international renown for 50 years, had provided jobs in the area, won many sporting accolades, had 4 riders winning seven world individual world championships (that’s PCx2, OF, PC, JCx3), provided wholesome entertainment for families over decades etc. If Wolverhampton or Peterborough, or indeed anywhere council, offered to cough up financial support to build a track I am sure the supporters in those areas would be cock-a-hoop at the offer. Unfortunately in today’s climate it is highly unlikely it will happen. But instead of being happy that a team (and everything that surrounds that term) has managed to continue successfully, some members of the speedway family begrudge others having got what they would definitely be very happy to receive in their own area. If you are REAL speedway fans everyone should be unreservedly happy for any team to receive help from whatever legit source.

Good to see Ove Fundin walking around the pits last Friday evening for round 4 of the SEC championship in Pardubice. Mind you, he’s just a youngster at 90

Looks like the SEC is Michelson's to lose. If he wins it means he will be in next years GP’s. I don’t mind that, he can mix it at times. At the moment he seems to be on form, so hope he does it. Would be good if Woryna could pick up a bit. Be nice to see him in the GP’s. Was Toni Woryna of the 1960’s his grandfather. I remember seeing him race at Wembley.

I always understood that Emil couldn’t get the right level of sponsorship to fulfil a full season of GP racing so opted out for a few years.

I would be interested to know why it is now that a number of russian speedway riders have decided to join British teams. Could understand more if they were newbies, but 2 of them were 1st and 3rd in the 2021 world GP series. Just seems a bit strange to me. I don't suppose they will ever say why they come to UK all of a sudden.
-
As it looks at the moment, still one GP to go, I would have the current top 10 back next year. Plus winner of SEC, currently leading is Mikkelson, plus the 3 from the GP Challenge of which Wozniak is already through, then possibly Kvech and a Pawlicki. That leaves 1 place....... possibly Rasmus Jensen, Lebedev, Kubera, even Anders Thomson who isn't too bad and mixes it (just injury took him out this year).

So the two Russians who flew into the UK to (allegedly) look a the clock on Salisbury cathedral then flew out couple days later were fictitious - even though they have been identified as Russian agents. They themselves were not poisoned by the nerve agent because they protected themselves. The innocent woman who died didn't protect herself because she didn't know anything that was going on. The ex Russian agent opened his door nor knowing the nerve agent was under the handle, likewise his daughter touched her dad sometime after, again not knowing. Have you not watched the series on Litvinenko, the Russian who was poisoned in London by a cup of tea, and died a horrendous death. If not watch it, very interesting.

2023 FIM Long Track

So did Bomber come second overall to Smolinski. I know Bomber didn't -ave a good day but was he enough points ahead to get 2nd? -
So you think that a sponsor who has probably paid 10's of thousands of pounds will just say "that's fine by me". Pull the other one. What do you think will happen at the next GP....... I'll tell you what would happen..... it would happen again, and again. Then it's anarchy, it will be a free for all....... truly seen as a Micky Mouse sport. Can you imagine England playing a world cup football match, and the entre forward says I'm going to wear MY sponsors logo today. If you want speedway to be recognised as a world sport then it's got to be done professionally all As for you point "I think we should be able to see what's gone on here", I agree with you. In an earlier post I commented BZ did a simple mistake, took the wrong kevlars. Others have pointed out he knew what he was doing and giving publicity to HIS main sponsor. If that theory is proved the case I can see BZ being thrown out of the whole series for this year with no certainty of a place for next year. It's getting very interesting.

If next years gp’s get the”fresh” riders some posters on hear want because “it’s the same ones year by year” THEN you would see the weakest gp field ever for a whole gp year. Next year I would have in the current top 10 plus the SEC winner (possibly) Michelson as it stands, plus the 3 from GP challenge. The GP challenge May put Jan Kvech into next year GP…. that’s how the rules go, but IMO he is not GP quality….yet.

So Zmarzlik wore non conforming leathers with respect to advertising. Imagine you paid 10's of thousands of pounds to advertise your business to appear before a potential world wide audience at every gran Prix/practice/news (everything included in the legally drawn up document signed by all parties). We talking big money here. Then someone turns up advertising a different sponsor. Do you think the sponsor who paid lots of money for GP advertising would be happy. Riders will have signed contracts too, no doubt stating the organisers of the GP's lay down the rules and riders/pit crew etc will have read the rules and agreed to adhere to them. I can easily see Zmarzlik made a simple mistake but the responsibility is to advertise the GP sponsor. Legal boys would have been all over this if the penalty stipulated was not adhered to, and rightly so. The FIM would have been in deep trouble, with this and potentially lost sponsors for next year - lack of adhering to contracts. As for the suggestion Poland could withdraw riders and tracks from next year's GP's..... they will fully understand the situation because they too will have legal documents with their own sponsors...how do you think they can afford big money to the riders on Polish racing.

If the culprits get caught all they will get is smacked hands and told not to do it again.

Sad news to read.

If indeed he is negative would this lead to legal action against SCB….. at least for loss of earnings, possibly damage to reputation.
