  1. 1976, pleased to say “I was there”. The atmosphere was amazing, it was an open air stadium but the atmosphere matched Wembley. PC was brilliant. I heard he played it crafty and fluffed his practice laps to make the others think he was off form. Another YouTube not to miss. Search for “Peter Collins v Egon Miller Long Track”. Think it was 1982 world long track final, track was wet and dirty. Amazing race.
  2. Here is a copy of a paragraph from switch.com:- Ofcom regulations state that you’re allowed to break your contract penalty-free if your provider increases subscription fees from what was agreed when the contract was signed. .............. You have 30 days to ask to cancel, think that is from date on letter they send to say there is a price increase.
  3. Its just you said you went over a telephone limit and they charged you £7. That's should be a one off, unless it was so high like £90 and they agreed with you to take it over the next 12-13 months. That seems unlikey. I think under the new regulation they are limited to what annual increase they can do - like the CPI index, which is about 2%, so sounds like you were paying £65 per month, 2% of that is £1.30 per month, that should be your increase (approx.). Somethings going on.
  4. Are you really saying you went over a limit on the telephone, they charged you £7 which they probably entitled, but then you say they are going to charge you £7 per month till your contract ends Jan 2021. Either you telling porkies, are confused, or BT are not working correct. Where you say they put the price up after 3 month into a contract. That’s where the new law, which has been in existence some time now, allows you to pull out of the contract if you want when a price rise is applied.
  5. It will be WHEN they call a full lockdown...….I think next weekend.
  6. If prices go up during contract there is a legal obligation for supplier to cancel if customer wishes. Stopped the signing up then 3 months later a price rise, that is a surprise and the customer doesn't not want to pay.
  7. Not that easy, well, yes its easy to cancel DD, but that would cancel my broadband as well, and I dont want to do that. I just want cancel the TV package ie 2 TV boxes (I get banished to the bedroom when speedway or Mot GP is on.
  8. Got a message from BT earlier last week, they removing Movie 24 from the package I have on 31 March. Reason we joined BT TV was so I could watch speedway and the wife Movie 24. Now there is no speedway, MotoGP and now Movie24 dropped it gives me the legal right to cancel. Just have the problem now to talk to someone at BT.
  9. Aub, Norwich, Lawson in front to Peter Craven. Ron How, Wimbledon, in front of Briggo. Bottom left, Ken McKinley, Leicester. And I agree with Bavarian, Hofmeister between Briggo and Peter.
  10. Saw a news snippet last night, cant remember where, but BT can suspend packages until future time. Cant do a link, and some may already have seen this....but on www.speedwaygp.com website there is a fantastic race in Prague GP 2015 where NK Iversen gates last but ends up ...…….. Been some good snippets recently, no doubt more to come as no live speedway to comment on.
  11. Not going to get into the argument re Sunny v BV and Sheffield BUT Torun looks longer then BV, and for BV to be actually longer straights mmmm BV has been built into pre existing constraints, it could not be any bigger even if they wanted. I thought Mort went to a few tracks renowned for good racing including Torun, the shape, widths, banking angles, etc. But are you sure BV is bibber then Torun?
  12. Could it have something to do with the fact that some expertise in medical matters are needed at these large gatherings, and they could be better utilised elsewhere within the NHS - staff shortages
  13. How can you reduce 7 teams riding home and away.
  14. Because by the time this virus has eased off such that restrictions are dropped we could be a long way through the season, so much so there won’t be time to complete home and away meetings. So do something else to attract as many supporters as possible.
  15. There is a good chance that any league commitments will not be completed due to delays, so I would scrap the league this year and run as many matches as possible as challenge matches. Saves any frustration at the end of the year. Apart from that...... some tracks may not reach the end of the year anyway.
  16. I can see a lot of businesses, even some big ones, struggling through this, some even disappearing. I wonder how this will affect speedway sponsorship, either team or individual riders. Certainly GP riders require a lot of sponsorship to be competitive through a whole season, Emil went awol for 3 years cause he couldn’t raise funds to compete at highest level. we know sponsorship in Poland is crazy high, riders getting £1k per point it is said. What happens to Polish speedway if sponsorship collapses. Interesting times ahead.
  17. Me and the wife are of "the elderly", but we had a call from our son tonight who has just got home from a NHS meeting where obviously coronavirus had been discussed. His message for us was to restrict where we go, who we visit, do a big shop one day a week, not do multiple trips, because "this is serious" and is going to get worse, a lot worse. For sure we each decide to do what we want to do, but it would be foolish to ignore warnings, this is not a scam!
  18. If there is a 500 limit and that includes speedway, it would be quiet novel to see fans being turned away from some tracks.
  19. Lidsey, I think will make it, impressive in the under 21's world championship. If Dan doesn't make big strides this year then I will begin to wonder if he will. My big concern is Lambert. Again, like Dan, this will be a defining year for Lambert.
  20. Youngy105, you know it can rain at anytime anywhere in the uk, especially in these weird times known as climate change. You also know the BV track is still raceable when rain has stopped play at other uk tracks. Chun up though, it’s been blazing hot during June for 2018 and 2019.
