  1. Is the price shown for 2 nights racing, I can’t see options for the Friday or Saturday. If it price for 2 nights it’s a bargain. If it’s price for one night it’s still going to be value for money.
  2. Ove Fundin (no brainier for me), Peter Craven, Igor Plechanov, Peter Collins, Chris Morton. All value for money riders.
  3. I just read on speedwaygp website that after discussions with local authority another 1000 tickets been released for sale, but they don’t think many will be available for entry on the night.
  4. What would the crowd be for a league meeting pre COVID?? For a league meeting during COVID restrictions, have they also restricted fans to only certain parts of the track?? Have restrictions eased in Sweden, or the Manilla area of Sweden, that would open up to more spectators. I just trying to think of reasons why it could be different.
  5. The story goes the Saudi company Aramaco (nothing to do with oil) has just invested £130 million over 5 years which allows Valentino Rossi to put his VR46 team into MotoGP (he already has Mot2 and Moto3 teams). The money out there.
  6. Ah, so that’s why Lockatev is first reserve for the series and probably come in this week for Vaculik. Interesting how this Saturdays No 16 goes on, Aspergen. He has a tough act to follow after last Fri/Sat but what an experience it is for these guys. A handful of points would be good.
  7. So right Ian. One qualified as Euro champ, and Lambert is do I very well. 3 qualify from GPChallenge and Thomson not too bad, KK shows signs of a fight but can’t turn into points, and Berntzon is not ready for GPs. I thinks nexts next entrant from Euros, Mikelson will do ok. Just waiting to see the three from the Challenge. Quality riders in the field, will they shine through or fluff it.
  8. Vaculik was going well last a Saturday, looked like he was going to get much needed points. What should he do now? He could ride this weekend to try to get some points back, but risk it either not working out or even his situation made worse. Or he could save himself for the week after, GPChallenge, and try to get on top 3 to secure his place in next years GP. Whatever, I think he is deserving of being there in 2022.
  9. What you don’t know is that Freddie gave Martin a mobile call on Monday to wish him well. Not everything goes on social media.
  10. If it is weather you thinking about, Hyde Road used to be cram jam full for the BLRC. I know times are different now, but everyone now knows what a race track NSS is and there will be plenty racers there. But there again it’s on telly live.
  11. That’s sad, only known of him since I started on this forum, but probably seen his name in various speedway publications.. He has obviously contributed a lot to speedway and had a lot of knowledge, that I could tell.Condolences to his family, relatives and friends.
  12. I know a few have said Freddie should have been excluded for causing come togethers at the start But as I see it, the race with Laguta on gate 1 and Freddie on 2, Laguta immediatley pulled to the right. If Freddie had gone for the corner there would have been a clash causing even more mayhem. By Freddie staying straight for a bit longer it saved the day, until the other two moved across and chaos.
  13. Re Willstaxi - I sent a personal message about 10 days before the first Prague GP. As we would be on holiday whilst the first gp was on I was asking could he send me a blank race card so I can fill names in on the Friday. Unfortunately I do not get a reply. I hope he alright and didn’t get caught by the Covid.
  14. Are they going for extra seating on bends 3-4 as the last final at BV? anyone in the know.
  15. Ever saw Harvey ride, butt I was there in 1976 when PC won. I am positive he could beat all the Poles on their tracks, he did that day. And I not sure the “Continentals” always had a far easier progression to the world final. The fifties and sixties were tough for them, then in the fifties, when only the likes of Fundin and Nygren rode for English teams, they had to race on Wembley track which was smaller and tighter then what they were used to.
  16. At the moment I would think most of the GP riders live in Poland anyway. They will be doing that because thats where the money is and if Covid goes up in Sweden and self isolating kicks in they are pretty secure in Poland to continue earning.
  17. But it is only the last 2 years that we have had 6 gps in one country.......why is that....... the common denominator is Covid. Hopefully its temporary, and pandemic allowing it will be back to normal next year. Its the same in Moto GP, Spain seems to be taking a lot of GPs at the moment, even though Spain is still being hit badly even today by Covid. They also have double headers, but with a week in between (same as F1). During that week race teams isolalte as a team, They have to remain in their team mobile accommodation units at the track for a whole week. Tough, but that is whats happening in the sports world to be able to continue this year and last year,
  18. When virtually all the GP riders are based in Poland riding for Polish teams it sort of negates a “home” track advantage, and therefore does it matter in times of this pandemic that most of the gp’s are in a country where the riders can actually get to a gp meeting. If things take a turn for the worse, COVID wise, it could be the Danish, Swedish, Russian meetings could well be cancelled. So at least we get a world championship over more then one meeting.
  19. But the selectors do have a choice, before they didnt. Pros and Cons with both ways, cant satisfy everyone I suppose. I would think we going to say goodbye to Zagar this year. I been happy with him over the years, pity he couldnt have got more out of it. Looking at the list so far, the ones from the GP Challenge are not doing too good (Thomson the best so far) whilst Lambert (Euro champ) is doing ok (two semis in the last two rounds). We already know who the 2022 Euro Champ contender is - I wonder if the GP CHallenge will give the series 3 good ones.
  20. I am ok with 2 gp’s in a weekend, but I could easily change my view if a rider couldn’t compete the 2nd night due to injury. That could have happened at Wroclaw with Emils second accident. He must be badly bruised but it could have been much worse. Points system, still wavering between the two systems. Current system gives a chance to someone who suffered an engine failure a chance to do really well - I like that. The race between Fricke and Doyle was very intense, loved it. Madsen, four years ago I thought he was just a fast starter, but now appreciate he is a racer that will mix it as well as being a good gater. As for Laguta, he is just a fast starter, put him in the mix and he pulls out. Would be bad for him to be world champ.
  21. Give them the right track conditions and these Speedway gladiators always give an amazing performance.
