  1. We got another evening of rubbish tomorrow, only one super strong team tomorrow so racing between the others might be interesting. Tonight, Czechia came equal last. They used to be better then that, but even Malik is a shadow of where he was 3 years ago, just when the shout was put him in the GP’s. Someone on here the other day was suggesting newcomers to the GP’s should be given 3 years to prove themselves. Yes, Milik would have added something to the GP’s - boredom.
  2. The prime object of SON is not can fans predict the top three correctly, is to give smaller speedway nations a chance to join a competition. Like it or lump it, that’s what it is about. Someone, or some committee at FIM need sacking. The track was not fit for a world championship event. It was dangerous, riders could have got seriously injured, even contenders in the individual world championship could have got seriously injured meaning they could have missed the last two rounds. Heads should role. It’s no excuse saying they want smaller countries to hold world championship finals, it was dangerous. The track the GPChallenge was held this year was not dangerous but it was a useless racing track not fit for such an important meeting. Very possibly the same person or committee making the decisions.
  3. How does BSPL send out a questionnaire if they don’t know where people who used to attend live?
  4. Chris Morton was world class, no doubt about it. Just didn’t do it on the big night of the world final, presume nerves got the best of him, but yes, he would have been a worthy world champ.
  5. It’s a month of yet, we don’t know what other countries have qualified. All teams will have to decide at the same time.
  6. Not on that occasion Ian. I was sat in the temporary stand on bend 3-4. It was a track that prepared wrong on the Friday evening, too grippy, fast track, no racing. Someone else must have took the lead for Saturday night as the track was prepared differently and racing was very good.
  7. Problem with giving riders 2-3 seasons ((and I can see your point) is that the end of year one, they stay, but for selectors to “go wild” and pick another three would mean three to go from the remaining twelve and be replaced by another three to be developed. You could end up with 6 riders you are hoping will develop and they may/or may not, and the series could be worse. Its tricky for the selectors, absolutely. Not being able to please all the people all of the time (or should it be hardly any people any time)
  8. So the 20 heats DO mean something, glad you agree.
  9. You have got different people this year, 1 performs reasonable, 2 not so good. You want more then 3 new ones each year?
  10. Of course 20 heats mean something…….. only 8 take part in the semis. what that means if you score 8 or 9 in first three rides you more or less cert of a semi final place so no need to bust a gut in the last two rides (other then the more you score the better your choice of gate position for the semi).
  11. I asked the question on here at least a month ago and the answer was No. It would be too risky being October. When they did it in 2016 it was June time, nice summer evenings, and it was still sold out, but almost full.
  12. Waiheke1 and Bruiser, I in agreement with you two, not a bad meeting (but not a brilliant meeting).
  13. I disagree that this year he is mediocre, he had a couple 7th places and a 9th. The meeting he got injured he had 2 rides, 6 points, that is definitely mediocre, maybe he would have been on the podium or top of the podium. If he had done that he would have been a cert more then likely for next year. Martin is a proper racer, not a passenger hanging on picking up odd points. He is coming up to his prime years, for me he is a definite goer for next year. Danger is they could pick 37 year old Jan Kolodzeiz who had his best years about 15 years ago.
  14. Too soon for Bewley, no matter what they do with Lambert. If the selectors picked. Bewley for next year, and he flops, then he will be out in 2023 (unless he earns it Euro champ/GP challenge). If he misses 2022 (like I think he should) then he just might be right for 2023, depending how he develops.
  15. Traditionally the current British Champion gets the Cardiff wild card. I wouldn’t like to see anything change that. It’s a one off meeting. The British champ rides in Britain, that’s why he in the British championship, British fans get to see him. Dan will have to qualify another way for the GPs….. Euro Champ, GPChallenge or get a permanent pick.
  16. Bewley not good enough yet. I think for 2022 we got good four between the Euro champion, three from GP Challenge, add the top 6 from this year plus Madsen, Doyle, Lambert, Vaculik, Thomson . Those 15 give a good line up, looks a lot better then 2021 looked/is.
  17. If Thomson has half good meeting x2 in Torun he probably deserve another crack at it. Conversely if Lambert has to mid-low meetings then he could be in trouble, Thomson has had a podium, that means something. It is a pity for Kubera that he comes from a country populated with good riders. If he misses a pick then he has to be the series first reserve.
  18. It must have been a better quality of a meeting from Vojens because in a weird sort of way it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. For sure there was some boring races, but first corner action was often good and those that wanted to chase and pass did, but with current points system chasing hard in heats 13-20 is not always worth it if you scored well in your first 3 rides. Not the first time has Emil took a dive, yet others later stayed on when in similar situation. Glad to see Freddie on his feet, just hope it wasn’t him in that report of an ambulance with blue lights leaving shortly after the meeting.
  19. I think it was hoped that qualifying would be an additional attraction. It turned out not to be. I hope we seen the last of it and the draw for meeting number reverts back to as was. I don’t know about Vojens but the only one so far with practice that I know of has been Malilla.
  20. Even boxers shake hands (touch gloves) after an event, and that’s after they tried to damage each other’s brain (that’s what a knock out means). I hate that “sport”, how they are allowed to do it. It is now claimed that in football heading a ball can cause health problems. Look how Cassius Clay ended up, and as far as I know he didn’t head a football regularly, but did take a lot of punches on the head.
  21. Once he retires and looks back on his speedway career I am sure he will regret that decision he made to skip the GPs. Ok he has 2 European Championships to his name, but it could possibly have been 2 World Championship titles, plus the first Russian world champion.
  22. Don’t agree with that……. You got to be in it to win it. Those two have chosen not to be in it.
  23. I watched BV v Sheffield last night on Quest. I would say that GB team has to be Woffinden, Bewley and Tom Brennan as the under 21. When the GPChallenge was from Glasgow a good few weeks ago, I watched via stream and was very impressed with Brennan. Now even more so after watching him v Sheffield on Monday. Great potential. However, he will be in Poland in a couple years time if he carries on developing as he is.
