  1. It is not an “attack” on any rider, it’s denying Putin the prestige he gets when a Russian does anything to boost Russia on any world stage. I wouldn’t be surprised if some top riders are uneasy, maybe the Poles, Swedish, Finnish, Chech, Slovak, Latvians. Some of those countries are deemed to be potential targets of Russia in a wider future long term plans.
  2. Don’t we all, that’s a natural viewpoint of speedway supporters, or indeed supporters of any sport. However, no single country, nor NATO, is going to put their army against Russia, but the people in Ukraine, ordainary people like you and me, are suffering and will suffer more for every one of them that dies. So other means have to be taken to show that the world detests what they have done. Russia, and Putin, like their sporting heros, especially world beaters. Hence Olympic champions, World champions etc are highly prized. So just like all the other restrictions heaped upon Russia, it is hoped the effects the restrictions will get them to think is it worth it and change their ways. Action now may prevent world war 3.
  3. and Russia have been excluded from the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest. Russia are so keen to win at sport, cheating has been rife, and even when Russian sports people cannot wear Russian colours etc (in the recent winter Olympics the Russians were representing “the Russian Olympic Committee”), and even then in the Ladies ice skating that young girl had been found of taking drugs (maybe not her fault). This shows even when banned they deem it worthwhile to cheat. For the “fatherland”. Not only should the Speedway GP due in Togliatti be cancelled, but Russian riders should be excluded from all the 2022 world championship GP’s, and yes that means Artum and Emil. What Poland speedway does will be interesting as well, I can see all Russians being excluded from the Polish league. Edit…… just heard Manchester United cancelled sponsorship from Aeroflot, worth millions.
  4. They can take the Togliatti GP away to somewhere else - rubbish track for racing. Nationalism is the source of a lot of problems in the world, do away with the flags etc, strip it back to just racers names.
  5. Are you sure there is not a provision for a printed ticket.? Online ticketing will save money, so has to be good, but I can’t believe any organisation would preclude a sector of the community by going electronic. It will come one day……. But I would be surprised it is happening now. Check the detail carefully.
  6. Do you get Speedway GP on Eurosport Player? I know you get World Superbikes. MotoGP/2/3 is on BTSport, and Discovery+ has SpeedwayGP. That’s how I see it.
  7. Does it tell you which is incorrect….. your email or password. Of those two it’s usually the password (assuming you know your email) me usually allows you to reset the password…. After pressing a button. Or have you used an email address you don’t usually use and forgot.? As our smart LG tv in the lounge won’t accept Discovery app tonight I connected the ROKU box I use on the bedroom non smart tv onto the LG tv. The ROKU box has the Discovery+ app on it and it worked ok on the LG, so I am going to buy one of the latest ROKU boxes that does 4K to get the best out of the TV ROKU combination.
  8. I am similar to you in that my contract with BT will be up in January 2023. It’s going to be difficult, BT are one of the most expensive broadband providers and to have tv but only seriously watch MotoGP/2/3 makes it an expensive package. With the increase in gas, electricity, council tax, petrol, food etc life’s choices are going to be under pressure. If Discovery+ join with BT and the BT price doesn’t increase then having MotoGP and speedway GP on the same platform might be ok. Today I am watching Discovery+ via Roku in my bedroom live Olympic skating and also got up on my iPad Discovery+ App showing Olympic curling, still in my bedroom. Both devices showing very clear sports events. Half price annual offer ends tomorrow 20th Feb
  9. What bad have you heard about the app? I was watching some olympics the other day and it seemed ok
  10. What I have noticed whilst watching Olympics on Discovery+ is the commentary can get way ahead of the actual vision. Typically in Ski X and Short Track Speed Skating. The races can be 2-3 minutes in length, but the commentary declares fallers/winners sometimes as much as 20 seconds ahead of the viewer seeing it. Weird. Hope that doesn’t happen in speedway, I don’t want to know the winner when they still on the second corner of lap 4.
  11. For those interested watching the 2022 Speedway GP’s on Discovery+ do remember the £29.99 pa offer ends 20th February, then it returns to its normal £59.99 pa.
  12. That was a good race, articulately the one that had to be restarted.
  13. When there are only Russians in the world final can they still call it a world championship?
  14. Just been on the Discovery+ and it seems you ok logging into a Wi-Fi away from home in the uk. You will need your account details with you. Also showed a comprehensive list of what is compatible. For phones, tablets, pc, there is an app. I use the Rocku box I have, get a Roku Express for about £28.
  15. I really pleased with the quality of viewing with Discovery+, bveen watching 2021 lay off BV v Peterborough, the Winter Olympics through a Roku box to my non smart bedroom Tv. Unfortunately lining to my LG smart tv in the living room is problematic, a known problem to Discovery that they wi hopefully sort in the future, just a heads up for those with LG tvs. For a busy family, up to 5 devices can be used simultaneously. Discovery must recognise the Wi-Fi, so inside a home a mixture of tv, iPad, tablets, phones, laptop, pc all can be used at the same time, u to 5 units. The £29.99 per year offer runs out 20 th February, then it is £59.99
  16. Value for money. Yes, people will be tightening their belt, no doubt about it. We started couple weeks before Xmas, glad we have hide a long stretch of mild weather. Instead of turning on the heat we put extra jumper on. A smart run meeting would be a good start, meetings 2+ hours is not on at any time, never mind a cold wet March/April night. Keep the pit gates closed if tapes broke etc, riders straight to the tapes. By all means sell a full program, but provide a race sheet only for a nominal 20p or free.
  17. Just joined up with Discovery+ for the next 12 months at the £29.99 price. It's a good deal at £2.50 per month, picture quality on my iPad is great, I will try on my tv via Roku later.
  18. If that is referring to todays news it says “for the new company to be operational later this year” (3rd para).
  19. Yes I with BT as well, got 12 months to run. As I watch MotoGP/2/3 I need BT, but it’s expensive. I will be paying the 29.99 to get Discovery+ this year because I watch SpeedwayGP, that and MoroGP are the only two sports I seriously follow. Not interested in football, cricket, rugby, cycling, boxing, wrestling etc just the two sports mentioned. It’s a big inconvenience when suppliers stop or start showing sports I want, business to them, nuisance to me.
  20. Just read a news bit on The Guardian online news, BT has entered into exclusive talks with Discovery for a joint business venture between BT Sport and Discovery. Early days yet and the report suggests no deal agreed this year. The chairman of Dan, hoping to buy BTSport has said the deal for BTSport has become uneconomical for Dan and wishes B!BT Sport and Discovery all the best for the future. so for this year it looks like the Discovery Plus offer of £29.99 expiring 20th Feb looks attractive, then see what 2023 brings.
  21. It is a bit more than 8% banking on the very outside though. Yes, its looking good, and I like how the track laying is taking priority, everything getting nice and settled.
  22. Maybe just photo angle, but the bends don’t seem very wide.
  23. Yes, I remember Sandors 4 years with Belle Vue Aces. A good solid mid scoring Ace. A bit of an unusual style, but it worked.
