  1. With a few gp riders injured/doubtful to ride on Saturday at Gorzow I reckon Darcy will be allowed to ride - just to keep the numbers up together with the quality of those numbers. Then, as someone suggested, strip him of those points at the end of the year. Do you mean "driving permit" as in driving licence? If so, to do what you suggest I would think would be very strange - was he driving a vehicle on the public highway when he was tested?
  2. Is it such a difficult decision to make? Surely not.
  3. I got the stream at heat 17, very patchy until about heat 20, then went steady. Enjoyed that, and looks like Emil is on top form. I hope NP is ok and fit for next gp.
  4. I wonder how his sponsors feel? If they start pulling out then he will be hit right hard in the pocket. It would be ridiculous if he got a ban for the rest of the gp year and then get a wild card next year - that is no punishment at all. Into the qualifiers he goes.
  5. I would settle for that screm. A lot less then I was stating some many posts back, but yours is perhaps more realistic even though I wont hold my breath.
  6. I dont know - which Aussie did miss his flight to Poland on the Sunday after Cardiff? Initials will suffice.
  7. What you saying Sidney is not for the good of the sport. You saying just because someone is a "crowd puller" he should be treated differently to some one else who may not be. That has to be wonky thinking. I am positive that DW needs help, as you imply, and that helps needs to be available - if he wants it - but you cannot go easy on one person because of that. Why? because the next one to come along (and some one will) will expect the same. Wrong way to go IMO, Sidney
  8. from a google search http://www.goldentyre.com/en/ from the contact it seems the hq is in Italy.
  9. but its all speedway.... but its all motor sport....... why a difference Sorry Sidney..... but "all these numpties on here" are not the one that failed a test.
  10. Darcy Ward racing in Sweden tonight. Eurosport NOW
  11. speedibee This link was in post #46 above http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-28778032
  12. What is the point of an eight month ban if most of that is out of season. If it to 8 months, it starts at Latvia GP till end of season (whichever is the latest to finish - Polish, Swedish or UK) and then picks up again at the start of next season. A ban during the winter is no ban at all. Why should FIM have to rush a decision just cause a rider has a schedule meeting tonight. As long as FIM dont linger I dont think they should be pushed - after all, if the rider had passed the alcohol test he would have been riding tonight, he didnt pass the test so if he sits out another meeting so be it - his fault no one elses.
  13. Spotted that myself and thought what the heck. No one seems to learn. Same with DW
  14. Thats interesting. Speedway gp site did cover the Dudek drugs test a week ago, but no mention of Ward alcohol test.
  15. Probably a good idea to try to make the sport less costly. They do it in F1 and Moto GP. One tyre a match is a good starter for a debate, though I would think its a bit extreme. I would think the most money is spent on engine tuning. You can see who has got the best engines. I dont know how much a top engine tune costs compared to a "normal" engine tune but I would imagine there is a wide gulf.
  16. I have been away from speedway for so long now, about 35 years since going to Belle Vue from the late fifties on well into the late seventies. Really sad to read of all the disgruntlement from fans now. British speedway really must be in the doldrums. Sad, so sad.
  17. Scott Nicholls answered the question during the gp. He said visually little difference between the two, the difference will lie in the make up of the side walls. Scotty reckoned come the end of the season, or towards the end, some riders will do some testing and probably change. Whether the difference makes any actual measurable difference sometimes does not matter, many times its all in the mind, and that can make a reall difference.
  18. I take some exception (not a lot really) to being called "a Ward hater" I love his exciting riding style, just what the sport and us fans need. I dislike what he has done in his "private" life (which never can be private when in the public eye) but my reaction to his negative test before a gp is that he has broke the rules full stop. and the rules must be followed when dishing out the punishment. No one, absolutely no one, is bigger then the sport they chose to be in. The longer before real discipline (and that can include help) is given the worse a situation can get and the longer it will take to bring the person in line with what is expected. i wouldnt think any of the posters on here want Ward out of the sport, far from it. I do think most if not all would want Ward sorted out, that will include some fairly severe punishment for his irresponsibility and some professional help to overcome his problems. For the latter to work, he needs to want to work along with it. I hope that is in him.
  19. If Dorna have a deal for a Moto GP to be there in 2016 I reckon they will have a back up lined up. From what I read Silverstone are saying to much is being asked by Dorna so they on the sidelines - but who knows. Elsewhere I am sure it read that if £30m if given to Ebbw Vale scheme Silverstone says it will be illegal. Interesting developments to come.
  20. Had a couple days in Prague in 1976 and yes it is a lovely city and well worth a visit. Did Katowice in 1976 when peter Collins won the world championship, followed by the World Long Track the Sunday after in Marianski Lazne, in Czech when Ivan Mauger won. Thats how we had a couple days in Prague - on the way to marianski Lazne.
  21. Very probable. but Prague is a great place to go to but most say the track is not so good ie rubbish Cardiff is a great place to go to and the track is acceptable but atmosphere fantastic (judging that on the 2 years I have been 2013 and 2014)
