  1. I know that if you have the power (in an engine) you still got to be able to ride it, but Tais and Gregs bikes last night were so fast. If I was one of the other riders using the same tuner as T & G I would be asking the question why are they going so much faster when I am paying the same good money for my tuning. More so this year then the previous couple years there seems to be a divide in the quality of the GP riders........ the top 5 or 6 this year seem to be in a different class to the rest. Yes, sometimes someone from the "lower ranks" shine for a meeting, but definately a divide. Wouldnt call last nights meeting a classic by any stretch of the imagination, some good races, and Tais passing was exceptional. As to whether Tai is racing all the time or not - when you got a fast rider in front of you, catching him may be possible, but passing is a different thing. Tai knows that, and hes not going to risk the rest of the seasons GPs in pinching a point. He stays in touch, so if the rider upfront makes a mistake he is there ready to punce. Sensible head on a young rider.
  2. Is the GP Challange on the TV, or are we going to miss out?
  3. Take F1 as an example, recently and sadly one of the F1 "family" dies because of serious injuries sustained in 2014, Jules Bianchi. I never heard any interviews with F1 drivers include swear words, in fact never heard any swear words on any of the interviews on F1 over the years. Yet F1 gets masses of sponsorship and plenty of TV time. Just this morning speaking to a friend of ours, her daughter just moving out of the home they had owned for a few years. They invested money into it, new bathroom, new kitchen etc, yet they moving out Why?. Next door neighbour not only noisy, but the noise is the shouting of the young mother to her young kids. Not just shouting though - swearing including regular use of the F word. THAT could be the acceptable norm in a few years time. Are you ready for it.
  4. I agree, Fromafar. If I was were other riders I would be keeping a keen eye whenever I rode with Doyle or Kildemand. Since Nickis wrestling match with Greg he seems to have calmed down. Take Zagar for instance, he has two bad crashes in the last two GP's, both involved NP as well, but neither was Nicki the problem. First of all Kildemand, then Doyle. If these things carry on there is going to be another serious injury, which no one wants.
  5. I and many others can express themselves emotionally, show man love etc without the need to swear. If someone can not string a a few words together to form a sentance without having swear words included then I feel they are lacking something. When very young you expect parents to chastise their children if they swore, yet somehow it becomes acceptable when one is older. I dont accept that. If you let standards of decency to drop in any one area and accept it, can we really complain when standards drop in other areas. If someone came up to you and your wife and started feeing and blinding, would you accept it. I wouldn't/couldn't So why should I accept it on TV especially when its a family sport that I am viewing. And that's why the presenters keep apologising for those occasions speedways top sportsmen swear. What they do in the pits or their own life is up to them, but it is not acceptable in public and that includes TV interviews.
  6. To develop an engine you need experience, and that is there with CH and PK. Once development gets to a certain stage you need top riders to show what it can do - thats if you marketing to top riders. If you marketing to PL or NL standard on the basis of lower servicing costs then go for top riders in those classes. I think it would be difficult to get the likes of Tai, Greg, Nicki on board a Gerrard engine whilst they still going for top positions.
  7. I recently moved over to Windows 10 and now I dont have a translator to give me English, and I cant remember how/where I got the previous one from. Any one help with ideas.?????
  8. That engine seemed to be doing better tonight, but as you sy, it would be nice to see a top rider on it.
  9. A really enjoyable GP, plenty of racing with passes. Doyle has begun to loose my respect. In a week we have had a serious speedway injury, he goes and does that. Glad Zagar picked himself up, dusted himself down, and went on to win the meeting. Well deserved. Still 4 meetings to go, but barring injury the chapionships Tais for losing. but what a battle for 2nd 3rd and 4th. Only a handful of points between Pederson, Hancok and Zagar. If only Zagar could become more consistant he could be well clear of those two and perhaps challanging tai. Top 9 defining themselves clearly. Who ever finishes 9th this year probably deserves a wild card for next year along with Hampel.
  10. There are risks.... and there are riskier risks. Why on earth those riders were actually riding I dont know. We know speedway is dangerous, but riding on a track like that is just senseless.
  11. Dorna sold the Moto GP rights to BT, it was on Eurosport until 2014 started. Big money to Dorna. All we get now of Moto GP is ITV4 think it is on the MOnday after the GPs and then only the Moto GP race with very short highlights of 2 and 3
  12. and the insults continue to fly. I am sure Gustixs thoughts towards "hiding" this thread were honourable, though others have not agreed with him. Should have been left at that.
  13. Why, for example, do riders still risk their lives in the Isle of Man TT? Every year there is at least one fatality, "at least one" is one too many, and sadly some years thee is more then one fatality. Many of those killed are not high money earners, in fact it is probably costing them a small fortune each year just to compete at the level they at. What drives them on? Its an inner feeling that they want to compete. They know the risks, its just that the "inner" man is driving them on. I cant understand why they do it, probably because whilst I love motorcycle competition, road racing has not been one of my favourite sports. I can though have a guess what drives a speedway rider on. It would be hard for anyone to explain, but its "in the blood" and whilst the danger is always there most riders "blank" it out for the majority of the time.
  14. No need to "hide" this thread, nor any other. The comments already made have been seen by numerous members of the forum, so what good does it do to remove them now?. They were genuine thoughts of people at the time they were written. Hopefully all contributors on the forum today, and the time to come, will be in one accord hoping that Darcy can make a recovery, no matter what has been said in the past.
  15. Before he passed away in mid 70's Bill Collins was always with his son Peter at grass tracks and BV
  16. Of those I saw from the early sixties through late seventies - I would say Jessup and Plechanov would be right there in the mix.
  17. Just bought the Simmo e-book and because Amazon gave a £3 voucher when I bought Tragedy - Kenny Carter (because I was a first time purchaser) it will make the Simmo book a great deal, not that it wasnt. Even downloading the trial version you get to read the intro by Simmo, the forward by Barry Briggs plus more. More then enough reading to judge whether you want to buy the book or not.
  18. Thanks for that Tony. As I was a first time user of Amazon Kindle when I bought e-book of Tagedy I got a £3 voucher to use with my second purchase.
  19. Excellent, that makes two of us at least - any more want to join the new trend.???
