  1. If that's the ccase then I am snookered. change over to PlusNet as my tel/broadband provider on Nov 25th. Done this so I can pay monthly to PlusNet to watch speedway on BT Sport next 3 years via my Sky box. Cant do it through a BT TV box because my broadband speed is abysmally slow. Thursday afternoon it was 1.83mbps, last night it was .82mbps. You need 2mbps to stream tv, so I am a loser. Cant get a faster broadband, but can get satellite tv.
  2. I can see these winter months are going to be long and hard to endure.
  3. With Doyle signing for Swindon, and Rroscoe having half a team in place, surely someone must know Swindon going to race in 2016.
  4. Wonderful Gustix. A really good reminder of all the star riders of that era. I saw Josef Hofmeister a couple of time at Wembley in the late 50's, and then the rise of the Polish riders, plus the two marvellous Russians Plechanov and Samaradov. The Scandinavians and Commonwealth riders all added to the exciting times. A good trip down memory lane.
  5. If you go to the Diamond Lodge website, the quoted room prices look as if they suspended. You have to phone them for pricing....... just like Cardiff, prices go up when a big event is taking place.
  6. Legal to sell the boxes, that's no problem because they give access to sites that are free to use. Illegal though to view sites that are not free to use ie BT Sports, Sky Sports. There is a difference.
  7. Clearly HISTORY is the correct section to put this thread in. To make sure I don't miss anything, when I visit this site I just click "View New Content" which is towards the top left side. That gets all new posts in each of the sections. That's how I got to read about Bristol Bulldogs 1977-78.
  8. Nationalism has caused arguments on this forum, and started wars around the world. We are all humans, all the same, just get on with living with each other.
  9. In a few days time I am out of contract for landline-broadband so I took the opportunity of going to PlusNet with 18 months free b.band (the £10m). This gives me the option of going with BT Sport 4 channels on a monthly contract thro my Sky box subscription, this will cost £10pm (but monthly contract). Option to see Moto GP and Speedway GP probably over a 10month season for £80. As the wife decided (yes I know) we not going to Cardiff in 2016 £80 spent with PlusNet/BT is a good compromise.
  10. and be after high retainers/bonus which will then take UK speedway into financial problems - as if they not already in that situ.
  11. Do the same as was recomended couple weeks ago and contact SS direct.
  12. I may be fortunate that my contract with Talktalk for phone/broadband expires in 15 days time. I could follow someones suggestion and join Plusnet and get BT Sport for an extra £5pm. For the next 4 days Plusnet is doing free broadband for 18 months (then £10 month), so adding BT Sport for £5pm is a no brainer. Of course I could go to BT who do their BT Sport for a fiver and loads of hotspots for mobiles. Time to research and do some thinking
  13. http://www.speedwaygp.com/news/article/4575/three-year-deal-for-bt-sport Well, I enjoyed 3 year viewing on Eurosport, but I am not paying BT so I can watch it, so no Moto GP and now no speedway.
  14. Tetro announcement on speedwaygp.com http://www.speedwaygp.com/news/article/4573/sgp-racing-returns-to-germany
  15. I would have to look closely at Lindback - I not sure he can perform well through a GP season.
  16. I am sure Emil has said if/when he comes back to GPs he will qualify, not a wild card.
  17. That may be true Niamh, but lets remember ..... AJ has done 14 full GP years and finished a 2nd, 4th, 5th and a 6th, and 4 years has had a average in excess of 10 points per meeting CH has done 8 full years - highest position 6th overall in 2010 when he averaged 9.73 per meeting fact is, AJ can still cut and thrust with the top guys hence 9 GP wins (CH 1), and AJ has made at least 1 GP final per season except for 2013, Chris has only made a GP final in 50% of his GP years Like I said earlier post, its like comparing chalk with cheese. and I do like CHarris riding style and he is a racer, and I can only imagine what he must have been like in 2007, but there again that is 8 years ago.
  18. AJ a perennial charity case? Quick look at his record on speedwaygp.com shows he has done 14 GP seasons, Finish 2nd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th x2, 8th - so that's half his GP years in top 8 of the others 9th x2, 10th x3, 13th and 14th Finish 9th or 10th in a year and your bound to be looked at for a wild card the following year, especially if you performed well and met some bad luck. 2015 he finished 10th but put in some strong performances. In 2007 he finished 10th but with 2 GP wins In 2010 he finished 9th but with 1 GP win 2002 he finished 14th but that was his first year. I think that is a pretty good record. I not competed in speedway full stop, never mind at a high level, but I have in cycle speedway and performing at a high level meeting after meeting, year after year, is not easy.
  19. Its so obvious that he, MV, cannot pick and choose. He either has to qualify through the GP Challange or organisers will need to "pick and choose" him. Riding in the GPs is not compulsory - is it? I think he made a sensible decision, he felt he wasnt good enough to copete at the level he wanted to, so he said I will (hopefully) mature over the next few seasons and if I get another chance I will be in a better position to have a good go at it. Thing to remember is that the Gp season is basically once every 2 weeks one has to perform at the highest level. To be in the mix at the end of the 12 GP season that is a lot of pressure. 2016 I am not expecting Zmarzlik or Pawlicki to be in the mix at the end of the year. Sure they going to have their moments, but they going to have poorer meetings as well, all good experience for future years. Vaculic experienced a GP win, and also experienced a full 12 meeting GP season, and then declared he wasn't ready to get in the mix at the end of the year. Good on him for a sensible choice.
  20. Thats not what I read he said. When he dropped out at end of 2013 I read he said that he wanted time (a few seasons) to mature as a rider and then return when he could peprform well all the GP season. He is a GP winner, and from that he got to do a full season of GP, and thats the tough part - performing at the highest level for a full season, hence he wanted time to mature. 2016 is not going to be his GP year, not even as number 19,20 or 21. He will get a chance to qualify for 2017 or even a permanent wild card if he regularly performs at the top level and messes up qualification.
  21. Is that a fact or is it your best guess. I think the way he rode in Torun and Melbourne showed he was trying very hard to get that 8th place from Holder.
  22. AJ can still mix it, just wish he would start the season as he finishes it and carry on all year. I know I predictes those 4 correctly, the one I worry about is Lindback. He seems so unpredictable, if he can put his past problems behind him then he should be sensational, but there is a BIG BUT in my miind.
  23. Personally, if I went in 2015 and watched the antics I would not be rushng to go in 2016 However, I think it will be a good year and everything will run very smotthly. Since Warsaw 2015 I think we have seen an improvement in the organisation of the GPs, particularly the indoor arenas, culminating in the Melbourne GP just last Saturday. I dont think the organisers would dare to put on such a farcical show as Warsaw 2015 again (well not for a few years until memories fade enough).I hope I am proved right
  24. Chris Harris highest score was in Stockholm, 9. His average score for the year was just over 4.5, not even 1 point per race, though he did win 5 races. He did get on a rostrum - the farcical Warsaw where he score 7 out of three rides When you compare with Kildemands score its like chalk and cheese. Won 1 GP, 3rd in two GP, 13 race wins, double figure score in 5 GP's. and of course in 2014 he did well in the GP's he was in - 2 I think.
