British Final
OveFundinFan replied to phillipsr's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Why would he want to try different engines tonight of all nights. He had a couple good races in last week's gp, so he knew that engine was ok. It must be him/his team that cannot seem to get the bike and conditions tuned in. -

So if the reserve at the wtc has to be an under 21, and then can only replace no 1-4 if the track doctor oks it, then what do they do with Robert Lambert? IMO he needs to be in the team (1-4) for the sake of the future of British speedway. -

Russians favourites to get a massive cheer but to win the wtc I put my name against Denmark. -

Re post 269 I've said that before but some think you got to put the strongest. Can't really argue against that, except I still think how British speedway is it would be better in long term interest to go for youngsters, and that includes Tai -
Should Tai Woffinden Ride For Team Gb ?
OveFundinFan replied to robert72's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Yes -
Someone mentioned earlier that temporary tracks seem to have got better. Havnt they now decided to use 2 weeks to prepare the track - ever since Warsaw 2015 I think. Danish GP last night was really good. Lindback and Zagar started off really well but tailed off, especially Zagar 2 wins, 2 lasts, what was that about? Freddie not up to scratch last night either after two really good gp's - shame, Jason Doyle not really on it either. Shame. Prague next. Not too sure about this one. It seems if its one of Tais really good tracks, but is the track really good..... not convinced yet. Lets hope some good racing their as well.

Hanock's Monster Diarrhoea
OveFundinFan replied to TheReturn's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Amazes me how much Monster must spend on advertising, especially at motor events, its everywhere. All has to be paid for from sales...... so how much does it cost to produce a can of Monster (or Red Bull)....... 1p.... or maybe 1c -
I was watching the IOM TT races last night on TV......... they have a race for electric bikes which is in its 6th year I think. Sadly there was only 6 entrants this year. Some of the riders are the top riders whose main thoughts will be towards their other races no doubt. However the average speed of the winner was just shy of 120mph, slightly less then last years winner but its reckoned that was due to the fact the leader went over a jump and when he laded he compressed the seat so much the pressure turned off the emergency kill button which effectively took him out of the race and the new leader could take it easy. Average of 120 mph on electric when the new lap record on "normal" race bike is 133.???mph is pretty good. Ok, it will take some time for the average speed to improve but great improvement gas gone on in the last 6 years. So now we have electric cars accelerating equally with the top Porsche and Ferrari's and bikes with very good speeds on race circuits. All that technology will come to every day cars/bikes that's for sure.

Well spotted Gemini, but I reckon he didnt mean that (and probably you knew that), but wll spotted anyway. -
boring maybe but is it...... more boring then F1 less boring then F1 or the same at the moment I find F1 very boring and wonder how it can justify the amount of money that's spent on it. Electric cars are the future, so why not invest heavily on their development, and Formula E is surely developing technology that will be fed into electric road cars. Already there is a Tesla electric road car that does 0-60mpm in 3.9 secs, that's the same as the fastest Porsche or Ferrari, at a fraction of the running cost. Within 2 years the distance that can be covered on a single charge will be up in the 300miles I reckon (they may even be in test at this moment, I wouldn't be surprised.

TV and speedway in the UK seems very fragmented now and non more so then this year. We have Sky Sports, Eurosport and BT Sports. Who can afford the subscription to be able to watch them all. I can get BT Sports to watch the GP,s but I notice apart from the live showing and one shortened rerun that's it for BT Sport. Its as if they bid, won and beat the others just for the sake of doing it....or was it with the hope the others would give up on their speedway contracts and BT Sport move in to cover all at cheap purchase for them but higher cost to the viewer.

This is why Emil needs to be back in the GP's.... he is prone to injury due to his never say die attitude, hes got to win the world championship whilst in one piece - then retire one or two years later when he has earnt off the back of being world champ. -

but that was not the question.... it was "would work longer hours, for less money, in a company that was 3rd rate compared to others that offered you a job?" -
Andre Compton.....has He Retired?
OveFundinFan replied to skoobie's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Re above comment If he has a business and its doing well you can afford to put yourself on the market at a higher price. If someone is willing to pay that then you very happy, if not then you are still very happy. I used to do it when I was self employed. If I didnt want to do a job I would price it high so if I got it then I would be well paid for doing something I didnt really want to do, if I didnt get it then it didnt bother me. -

Should go back to the 50's/60's - all leathers were black (apart from Nigels and Mike Broadbanks) Was joking about going back to black - much prefer the colourful gear they wear today. -

Shock and Horror!!! This morning I read Andy Murray is taking a rest after his French Open final before Wimbledon. What about all these matches that will be taking place around the UK between now and Wimbledon, surely he should be doing these so the British public can see no2 tennis player in the world. He doesnt think so. -
Should Tai Woffinden Ride For Team Gb ?
OveFundinFan replied to robert72's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Interesting this very tight schedule not only Tai has in July but other riders too - Greg and NKI are mentioned in the item on speedwaygp.com, and its all about Polish league rescheduling. We have heard recently of riders who cannot fulfil their UK clubs duties because of a contractual condition from a Polish team. Seems like Poland are tying things up very tight to suit themselves. Could this lead to further problems in the future, even more tighter contracts. I can foresee this possibly happening. -

Is there any more to be discussed about this thread. Most people want tai in the GB team, a minority want him out, and I daresay a few couldnt care less. Now 461 posts, surely it cant go any further. -
The 2016 Speedway Best Pairs Cup

Watched it last night, must say I was not particularly inspired. Sure there was some good races but the whole event (all 3 meetings) just seem to lack something..... maybe it was the meaningless teams. -

IMO it is utter nonsense to suggest ANY GB tea without Tai would be better then if he was in.
