  1. Perhaps the reason they gave to Freddie is that he did have a bad meeting, finishing well down, but has had a good season including most GPs he been in this year. If there is a wild card system then it can be expected there will be some wild choices, but they must have their reasons which are noot self explanatory.
  2. Bus - BV is just off the main A57 (Hyde Road) road which runs from Liverpool to Lincoln via Manchester. I am assuming main bus station is still in Manchester Piccadilly gardens area, 3 mile journey maybe. Etihead stadium is about 1 mile away but if shuttle bus as someone reported that's no problem. If you looking on Google maps like I have just done, its not up to date with respect to the new stadium. Its show the old greyhound stadium as the National Speedway Stadium, literally the new stadium is next door to the greyhound stadium.
  3. The reserve has to be under 21 PERIOD. Nothing in the rules that say they they must be in the under 21 world championship. Ans the reserve can only replace a rider ho has been injured. So Lambert at reserve is senseless as he will only ride if team mate gets injured. He is too good for reserve unlikely to get a ride.
  4. Just because its the norm in your mind doesn't mean to say its the norm elsewhere, certainly not in my home or circle of friends. Some can still string a sentence together without swearing
  5. There are venues through out the UK that have roofs - Manchester has an arena with a roof, very close to city centre, but not large enough for a speedway track. Think Sheffield has a roofed arena, but again it looks too small for a track.
  6. Apparently so according to some grown ups. Like sheep following each other. Those on here that approve of swearing need to remember that not everyone does, and maybe some of those that don't were watching the GP on Saturday, got quite excited by the racing, just as we did, but then shocked to hear and see words and actions they trying to protect their families from, and whoosh..... any thoughts of going to a local speedway meeting gone out of the window. Of course Tai will still get his sponsorship money from Monster (and others) but the long term damage could be far greater.
  7. Bewitcher, you are only the second so far that has responded to my post, but you have not answered the question I asked. Do those who support swearing do so at home in front of their wife, daughter?? And if those supporters of swearing should ever be both nominated and approved to receive an honour from the Queen, and he/she accepts it, would they stand before the Queen and swear? and as for "Folk need to grow up and stop pandering along with what certain sections of society tells them they can and cannot do". You wouldn't like to live in a society where individuals, or groups, can do what you want. So think carefully what you are saying. If I had the time and inclination to go back over your posts, all 12,290 of them, what would I find? Would I find you have condemned those in society that go against principles that have been accepted for many generations or are part of the laws of the land? You tell me, because I have neither the time nor the inclination to do so.
  8. I think he has suffered much in the head after Darcys crash, just like Holder was affected. Holder seems to have come round a bit quicker then Batch. Time may help him, or maybe not.
  9. well then Marky, whats your view why speedway gp doesnt get on ITV4 then?
  10. when the GP goes to countries like Latvia, Czech, Italy at least there will be one rider from that country in the event therefore "local" interest would likely to be raised. BT own the TV rights for speedway GP, maybe ITV4 doesnt want to pay to show minority sports, or perhaps reluctant to show sport where the competitors are likely to swear when being interviewd, Cycling, golf, athletics etc have clean speaking competitors when being interviewed.
  11. and if Tai had not used the swear word the crowd would have still gone wild, so using the swear word added nothing to the response. adding a swear word to a sentence adds nothing at all to the meaning. and those supporters of swearing...do you swear at home in front of the wife and kids?
  12. On the basis of what Tai did on Saturday night in Cardiff after the racing but still on television, I am agreeing with robert72 - just on that point only.
  13. That "something" appears to be the length of time given to prepare the track. Since the shambles at Warsaw 2015, I think temporary tracks have had 2 weeks instead of one to be prepared. Having said that, not sure about Cardiff this year as Beyoncé had a gig in the Principality Stadium sometime the week before.
  14. No he didn't. And its only speedway that I see apologies given for bad language. Speedway could loose its tag as a family sport due to bad language.
  15. but the reserve does not get used unless one of the team of 4 gets injured. Reserve cannot be used as a rider replacement on any other grounds. So if one of the team is having an off night Robert will not get a ride.
  16. Me and the wife will be in for some good fun if Gollobesque happens on turn 3 at BV. We got tickets for the temporary seats on turn 3-4, but more precisely looking down the straight towards exit from turn 2 - so riders coming at us from turn 2 directly towards turn 3. Its where we sat at Cardiff for the last 2 years, and yes, you can see riders lining themselves up for a go on turn 3/4, especially on the last lap. Cant wait
  17. 2 more options to use in conjunction with suggestion at #46 1) stabilisers for the juniors 2) start the meeting one hour earlier to allow for "ambulance delays"
  18. Re-introduce second halves for juniors (just 4 heats), except put them on first so the dirt has moved around a bit and therefore when the "new" second half starts ie the main match, the racing will be good from heat 1.
  19. lay this to rest once and for all.......... I only wish!
  20. Plenty of seats in the temporary seating (to be erected) on turn 3 and 4 as stated above, but for "seniors" I see that prices are £45 each for the two meetings ie Fri and Sat - still a bargain, especially as the Fri evening is likely to be as closely fought as the Sat evening final.
  21. Maybe if he wins the final in September he will get a wild card to the speedway GP next year.
  22. Why hold him back? He has the talent, give him encouragement along with the chances.
