Read an article today which is saying the inks used in tattooing can be very dangerouse, even cancer causing. Not what you want to hear when the body is covered in tattoos.

I dont know the facts any more then you do, but what I said is "it could be that BV has already provided more then the minimum requirement". I have been to Manchester Arena many times, that indoor stadium holds approx. 20,000, but provide probably space for no more then 40 wheelchairs, and no doubt they are working to regulations.

Do yo know what regulations say as to what and how many facilities a staidium has to provide for disabled persons? Think there will be 8000 on Saturday now the temporary east stand is in use for the weekend. Could be that the demand is in excess of the minimum requirements and it could be that BV has already provided more then the minimum requirement. Unless you know the facts then its difficult to make a comment.

Event 2 Vastervik 26/7/16

I dont see that USA "would be on the way home right now". Take Joker points off Hancock (3) and take Joker points off Smolinski (2) and you still got USA being 3rd and throgh. And although the slowing down last night was blatant to everyone, it could so easily be made more subtle, so much so it would be impossible for a ref (or member of this forum) to judge correctly. -

If it was definate that a rider who stops racing will be excluded then Johnsson could have carried on knowing Doyle was to be excluded. If there is any doubt about an exclusion then Johnsson would have to do what he did. Another sport where a joker is played, and known as a joker..... the joker lap in rally cross, the race may be 6 laps long but at any point in the race a driver has to do a longer lap - the joker lap. Actually it works well in rally cross, as you have to on it 110% of the time. -

If you had a full strenght reserve to be used tactically could it be that the teams no 1 rider could be that reserve. I like the dea of the WTC being a 4 man team, with a reserve being theere in case of injury as now. Whether the reserve is under 21 or not...I'm open to thoughts at the moment. -

I suppose its easy for a rider to fake an engine problem... and could a ref challenge that, I think that would be difficult. So its scrap the Joker from me as well. -

Surprised at how well Sweden went tonight. Its AJ that makes the difference - but you dont know which AJ is going to ride....the extremely good one or the average one. Tonight is was the extremely good one. -

Emil really does need to win a individual world championship. He surely doesn't want to go down in history as another Russian that nearly won a world championship. Plechanov nearly did it, Chlinovsky almost did, Emil nearly has.... but to be the first of your nation must be a big prize. -
m a bit like you Moxey63, long track can be processional, made better by there usually being 6 man races, and of cours when a top rider gates poorly (ie Peter Collins) then it could be all action.

I think it would be good to have 2nd halfs return, except not 2nd halves, run them straight after the main event. May well only be 3 or 4 races for "local" juniors who want a bit of track practice. Running straight after the meeting may mean they will have a "crowd" watching them.

Re parking - its been quoted on here in the last week that official parking is via pre purchased ticket at the school next to the new stadium. You need to contact Belle Vue speedway office for that OR at the Etiad stadium (Man City football ground) which is £5 per car per day, no tickets required. Re Google maps - the maps mostly are about 3 years old, some places (like where I live) must be at least 6 years old. To update them they would have to fly over the area (manned or unmanned) and take new photos. Seeing as these are world wide maps somehow I don't think they would be doing that for every new stadium, shopping precinct, roundabout etc. etc. I think we are fortunate to have what we got access to and all for no cost.

Difference between Nicki and Lambert as I see it is that Nicki said he wouldnt be available for (at least) Round 1, thats last Saturdays match. It wasnt practice he was missing, it was actually a qualifier. What we dont seem to know re Lambert, is when was the practice day arranged? If it was after he had arranged his holidays then its a tough call to say he should be out of the team. Also, maybe Robert thought he wouldnt be picked fore the team. After all, more then a few on this forum wasnt picking him for the team. And even if he was sure of getting reserve spot he unlikely to get a ride, so his experience of BV track in British final would be suffice till he got to official practice on the day.

More a case of you could buy just Saturday evening, or buy Fri/Sat together (at a bargain price - just £5 extra for Fri where I am sat) but you couldnt just buy Friday evening ticket. Many people would just buy Sat evening meaning tickets left over for Friday. Obviously they were trying to tempt people to go Fri and Sat, both nights are televised so in best interests of speedway to have a good crowd there Friday. Be interesting to know what they are charging for Friday evening sitting in East stand (the temporary stand. I reckon it will be a bit more then the £5 I paid (joint buy with Sat eveningl) but it still will be a bargain to see what will be a very good "final chance" meeting.
-
I always assumed practice was essential part of being competative but apparantly not. Chris Harris must miss half of all gp pratices due to riding Friday in the UK and King said Cardiff on Saturday night was nothing like practice on the Friday, hence two rides with nil points. So whats the benefit of practice.

Should Tai Woffinden Ride For Team Gb ?
OveFundinFan replied to robert72's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
A search on the internet produced this link from this forum..... may not be all british riders, but still riders who are sadly no longer with us. http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=60461&page=2 -
Should Tai Woffinden Ride For Team Gb ?
OveFundinFan replied to robert72's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Killed on the track 1 Derek "Tink" Maynard, Belle Vue rider, killed at Norwich I think in the 60's. A collision with his team mate, sad. 2 I read in the Kenny Carter book there was a rider killed at Ellesmere Port in the early days of KC career, lost control and hit the track tractor - maybe why now tractor/graders go off the track to park. 3 Wasnt there a rider at Poole, just dropped dead when racing, not an racing accident, just something burst inside him causing instant death, they reckoned he was dead before he hit the track. Read it, cant remember name or when. -
Oh, of course, yes he would.
-
I can see GB second if Aussie/Denmark/Sweden/Russia dont dial in to the track. Of course Fricke has the track experience and can pass that knowledge on to his team mates. Its going to be closely fought out on Saturday, and Friday for that matter.

Some peoples standards must be very low if they find swearing the norm and acceptable. I can go a whole week and not hear a swear word, I can go shopping, to the local market, eat in a pub, mix with friends..... but its only when I switch on the telly that the swear words come across. Good job there is a button on the remote that I can press to move onto a different channel.
