  1. I remember Dag beating Ole at Wolves, Dag was on a JAP!
  2. Ted Gibson & Wilf Plant were riding in the meeting in my programme, you could be onto something John
  3. Regarding U21, yes I agree with you, will be going to Gustro & Pardubice to cheer him on. But hope I am wrong, but Smektala a different class
  4. I was a big Kenny fan, & im from Worcestershire!
  5. The First & only race in the programme was a Midget Car race, some well known names in the programme, ie Stan Dell, Paddy mills etc
  6. Many thanks for the info, think this could be a nightmare one to sort out!
  7. I think Dave Perks was the first rider to go straight in to first division with Cradley in 1972 I think ?
  8. As a avid programme collector, just got a Wisbech programme dated 20/10/1945 Wisbech track championship. My good friend John Somerville has a Wisbech programme stating the first ever meeting held in a sports stadium, Wisbech v The Rest 18/07/1948. (Since 1937 various Grass & Dust tracks in fields around Wisbech) No idea of the venue of my programme! Any info much appreciated
  9. Regarding your comment on Chris Pusey, what a rider, so underestimated
  10. Nor me Steve, always will remember Wolves October 17/1975. if you now what I am talking about ? Still have nightmares about that night!
  11. Alan Grahame, could dish it out, but could not receive it.
  12. I hope you are correct and he learns from it, he seriously needs to toughen up, no doubt about it the lad is very talented
  13. Not had chance to watch the meeting on TV yet, but from where I was watching, cant for the life of me understand what Lambert was upset about. This is GP, hard riding!!
  14. Young up and comers, the likes of Drabik and Smektala IMO are not far off GP level, for me the two riders mentioned are above Fricke just Lambert by a long way
  15. To be honest he has looked very tentative all season, he gets beaten up so easily especially on the first turns, in Poland if he has a rider get anywhere near him he backs off. He needs to go to the Bartosz Zmarzlik training school !!!
  16. Great days, me with my mum and dad always did Wolves on a Friday, Cradley on a Saturday and Birmingham on a Monday. I was at Gothenburg when Ole won his first world title. The two riders always give Ole a good run for his money around Wolves was Michanek and Ray Wilson
  17. I agree with you regarding Ole, I was fortunate to watch Ole week in week out at Wolves in the early 70's, for me Ole and Gollob were the two most graceful riders ever to throw their leg over a speedway bike
  18. Yes, but on that track he could be a different kettle of fish. Got very fast engines this year
