  1. IF it is Berge then Worky have a team full of "personality" if that works then it could be a very strong year, if it doesn't the blow up is going to be entertaining.
  2. With respect if likely to be two meetings at Owlerton so hardly needing a track specialist. But im sure if someone provided bikes, kit, spares, a van and throw in a few quid JPB would show up and do a half arsed job. Perhaps Ben Hopwood, Scott Campos or Lewis Bridger could be tempted back too.
  3. Has Dicken been posting some blistering practice performances over the winter? I would have expected more ripples if he was. Otherwise im questioning the fanfare other than the old Stags link because previous track records at NDL and even MDL were never anything to get excited about.
  4. If Coles and Woolley can pass on some useful advice to McGurk then the signings make sense. However if they just pass on how to keep your average attractive for next season(Tom) or how to ride on the tightest budget (Connor) whilst practical it might not offer the greatest amount of progress.
  5. My bigger concern would be that there is very little in the Edinburgh side to challenge Luke
  6. Good because Sheffthorpe won't win it either A lot can be learnt by getting beat, but getting hammered home and away is going to do little for some riders reputations and poor management selections can actually prematurely finish careers.
  7. Depressing enough. No personal disrespect to any of the riders but its a side that sums up the state of UK speedway today
  8. Saw little P few times last year and was impressed each time. Attitude on and off track was spot on and its obvious there is ability there. Don't know whether the links to Rogers were purely a Brum thing or if he trying to get involved deeper?
  9. I agree that Keiran is a nice lad but nice doesn't often make for successful. 4.18 in 2021 but his average fell for the past 2 seasons despite having the same home track. Speedway is a ruthless business and sometimes it just doesn't work out for certain riders.
  10. Could also harm crowd levels? The novelty of big home wins week in week out and little on track action might be detrimental. The hardcore of club supporters will be pleased but the floating fans than many rely on could be more choosey.
  11. Could easily add Woods, Woolley, king and Davies to the list of riders who have had multiple chances and done little with it. Be nice to see a Rookie like Budd or Goldsborough get a chance
  12. Genuine trials or a good way to boost practice day sales? Uncle Len used to say that year on year at Rye House but the team had been signed up months before
  13. Why on earth is Dayle even in contention, the league has been focused on developing British talent rather than giving places to a never been Aussie
  14. 1.Glasgow 2.Oxford 3.Poole 4.Redcar 5.Scunthorpe 6.Berwick 7.Edinburgh 8.Workington 9.Plymouth
  15. Standard Colts side namely be alright at home and chalk up decent wins and will look bang average or worse on thier travels
  16. Just like they did last season and cost themselves a shot at the play offs in the process?
  17. Very interesting side, very unproven number 1, strong 2,3,4 but weak number 5 ( whoever takes that role?). Reserves were always set to graduate and will hold thier own without the pressure of moving into the 1-5 all season. Ultimately uninspiring but matches should be entertaining at home.
  18. No longer allowed or not got a ride? Either way nice lad but no huge loss, arguably took up the place of a brit last season and would have again this year, NDL should have stayed brit passport only but bowed to pressure of a couple of teams.
  19. Looks a funny side but if written out with Foord at reserve and Crang in the 1-5 as expected after the first setbof averages it makes more sense. In an easier league Spencer and Butcher both need to push on towards the 6+ mark (or keep manipulating thier averages like they have the past few seasons). Springer will certainly be an interesting watch an Cairns will probably be held back until next season.
  20. Moral of the story is i should not post tired. No rider that i have ever spoken to has been charged to ride on IOW, they do need a Nora licence and then are rewarded per point at a fair (lower then NDL) rate.
  21. Basic sense says that proving a decent product generates a decent crowd and helps make the league sustainable. Giving riders team spots because of links to the club rather than ability is flawed. The IOW dont charge riders to ride, they generate a product where rider levels are closer and have a track which produces good racing. The NDL could easily do the same but teams are still being built with heavy heat leaders and new 3 point rookies so the same mistakes are made over and over again.
  22. Im wondering if the achieved over 4 rule has forced a change around? I can see Killeen & Kinsley as a spearhead, Scott in then either Clouting or Garrad (probably the latter). Another 3 pointer alongside Senna would still leave room for a rider up to 4.5ish like Simpson or Alcock. Still feels improbable and looking around it feels like something unexpected will happen with the Chargers side this year.
  23. Im assuming that Dicken is doing a lot of laps in the Northern amateur meetings and looking impressive as otherwise i just don't get where his name has appeared in so many potential line ups? The last i heard is that Alcock had fallen out of love with the sport and was finished with it.....but things often quickly change. Only in speedway can riders like H.McGurk & Crang have appalling seasons and then become sought after signings the following year.
