  1. Not intended to be harsh but with a closing average of 3.00 and actual average around 7 and starting at reserve he should be cleaning up in the early stages. There are obviously final averages out there as all teams have been able to build around them but us normals are not treated to such delicate information, yet another treat of resepect from the Mafia board to the fans
  2. I think the Iwade based team will benefit and be hampered from being weekend based. Doubling up riders could be a problem but Morley is a great shout at number 1 especially if he doesn't land a CL place. The rest will depend upon who was the sponsors favourites etc bit do agree that Spooner and Coles would be great value additions. Very unsure on Clouting though as he has been around (not full seasons granted) a while and still hasn't really put much on his starting average.
  3. Obviously a lot of teams to be announced etc BUT both Jacks have proven to be wasted talents thus far and finishing on 6ish averages in a weakened NDL last year shows that, McGurks had great years and will be the season to show if they can improve or plateau and "i" think the teams success will largely hang on how they do. Freeman is another with plenty of potential and its time to deliver, Ablitt will be tasting life at (or near) number 1 and thats a big step for him. I hope Hodder has taken a big leap forward from when i last saw him and i really wish that the actual 2021 final greensheets would be published so everyone could know whats going on and how teams are being built.
  4. Didn't hang about, definitely team Marmite. Built with "potential" but time will tell who pushes onwards and upwards.
  5. d be delighted for all involved at Brum if Nicol was one of the signings as he can be box office and great value but options really are becoming limited atm.
  6. sorry didn't mention Nicol....i said Ully and Auty
  7. Perhaps neither fancied dropping back down to the NDL
  8. Very true and the latter was a shocking signing that was really a kick in the teeth to a lot of young brits looking for a chance. All three are certainly capable of big scores but for some reason lack consistency over a season, Kyle i like but he has to be one of the most frustrating riders over the past X years, ive always thought he was/is capable of Worrall level or at least Kerr but he continues to frustrate whilst others progress.
  9. I'd be surprised if Brum go down the route of signing any rider that needed a visa (especially in the consortiums first year). First two signing are unsurprising and uninspiring but are at least credible riders around Birmingham although unless Morris offers some machinery investment or Shanes has a style change neither are likely to add anything significant to their average (again) and both risk becoming the aforementioned frustrating Newman type rider who offers so much promise yet remains a sub 6 CL rider season after season. Not really sure what the final pieces of the jigsaw will be but i hope that nobody tries to extort more out of Brum than they can afford to pay due to the limited options. Id rather see an honest team tracked even if its a bit under the limit rather than a couple of mercenaries who put the long term project in danger.
  10. Great value for the 5-16 age bracket and always admirable for under 5's to be free BUT standard adult works out at £16 a match which can only raise alarm bells at what standard admittance will be for the coming season?
  11. You twit, im genuinely offended that you would use those names just to make a cheap point. Non of those riders risked their lives or bodies just for our entertainment. They did so because they wanted to, to earn from it and because they enjoyed it. Spectator viewing is just a bye product of that. Dragging good speedway names who have met with harsh misfortune to score a few points off another is nothing short of shameful.
  12. With respect they would have to be very good deals or some hefty assurances to keep riders from signing elsewhere. Rogers only likes working with easy to manage riders anyways so think of speedways nice boys and the team will be close. Im not knocking the efforts to keep the club going and think its remarkable that Brum are coming to the tapes but still feel like it will be a miracle if they finish outside of the bottom two.
  13. Until the standard of the Jnr sides are confirmed i wouldn't get too carried away. It was rumoured to be NDL reserves/better MSDL riders from the draughts i knew of (basically think what riders will turn up midweek for free/very little) There's an obligation to name a number 8 but none to actually use them and i suspect plenty of matches with RR in use will take place without number 8's even present.
  14. Don't be mean, after everything that Brum have been through don't terrorise the fans with the prospect of Goret being in the side!!!!! In some level of seriousness i could see a team close to the below and not being entirely terrible. 1.Oystercard 2.Shanes 3.Newman 4.Paco 5.Auty 6.Ash Morris 7.Thomas
  15. Delighted that Brum are coming to the tapes again in 2022. I don't think anyone being 'negative' was doing so to derive any pleasure from it only pointing out the already known situations. The decision to run effects far more than just Birmingham and their supporters. Failure to complete a season has huge cost implications for those who have already raced against them, put out a below par side and as an away side they are unattractive to watch and will have an effect on the home teams attendance's. To clarify i hope that this years budget team is competitive and the promotion are honest about the aspirations and that it can be built upon for years to come.
  16. Perhaps thats where things are changing, new joining sides like the Bullets and Armadale enjoyed things as it was with double headers and lower costs whilst others (both clubs and riders) questioned the amount of investment required versus the smaller number of meetings. I think the NDL can limp on with 6 but feel it needs to be nearer 8+ to become longer term sustainable.
  17. Theres positive and theres realistic. I am hopeful that teams will come to the tapes for the 2022 season and that the league will start to flourish again (if its allowed to) but all surrounding it must be aware that just like the rest of the sport its in a very precarious position at present and the blindly bumbling along assuming all is ok doesn't really cut it anymore.
  18. I think/thought/suspect that 2022 might be a bit quick for Workington to get everything signed off baring in mind the track isn't built so no inspections can take place, funds may currently be better focussed on construction etc. Iwade whilst with every intention could still need many requirements met including an experienced promotor to come on board. Big IF but if neither of those sides are able to come to the tapes would a 5 team league be in any way viable for Mildenhall (or indeed is a 6 team league any good for them really?) Would the others want to be subsidising the NDL sides for such a small league? I know its said most years but this years AG could be one of the most important yet as the whole league at present looks like a house of cards and any number of factors could see it crashing down.
  19. Sadly the promotions still hold the vast majority of the power, there is also a vindictive element amongst them. Ive heard and known of threats issued to riders about the chances of them getting future team places unless they fall in line plus which rider wants to publicly come out as the initial "trouble maker"? For that they need to often state their owed monies which is intrusive in itself and they know it will cause a reputation dent. No matter how talented an individual how many employers would be keen on a new employee who has caused strikes at their last 3 places of work (justified or otherwise).
  20. I think IOW are incredibly happy away from the mafia and the way they were treated/ hounded i would be staggered and disappointed if they were to consider a return. 5 from last year to return, Iwade replacing Kent and maybe Oxford if they are very ambitious/ have been coaxed into it. Id love there to be a surprise entry but 7 for 2022 with hopefully Eastbourne and Worky to join 2023 would be a decent uptake (providing all current clubs make it that far)
  21. Anyone else read it as bassoon the gasso? Just me then. Oh and apologies for encouraging piratetwit chucking his inane drivel on ignore soon.
  22. I would think it wouldn't be much of an issue for any rider who takes speedway seriously, for those who wish to do both disciplines and pick grasstrack its a matter for the governing bodies to resolve. I would think there will be more than enough weekends to avoid local clashes anyway as Competition would hurt both crowds.
  23. Personally i think he needs a hell of a lot of work both off track and on it before he is NDL ready. I don't agree with the basics being picked up along the way whilst pinning the throttle flatout and hoping for the best. That said most promoter's don't share the same view and he will likely feature somewhere.
  24. Not good and reflects poorly on the Masons. Think all outstanding money should be paid up before the club can be sold personally. I understand the family are tryingbto recoup done losses but negative press devalues the club more and no sale means nothing back.
  25. Yep last one, they changed the rules after BWD so you needed a British passport to ride in NL from season after
