  1. Stranger that the rider didn't notice. Forgivable for the re-run but 2 extra rides to clock that the handling is off is a little bit green. Everyone knows that Pearson is likely to come good but it also appears that its currently a year or two early?
  2. Only 1 round completed so far and very lightly supported in the below 2 classes. Vinnie Foord was due out in the 500's but instead they ran 3 rider races. Not much better in the 250's with the 4 below and Ashton Vale completing the line up. 500cc: Sam McGurk, Jody Scott, Max James 250cc: Luke Harrison, Sonny Springer, William Cairns, Jamie Etherington
  3. Perhaps by a few but most knew Tom would go further. Sadly for Georgie pockets weren't deep enough and dedication was found wanting at times. Unbelievable talent on a bike but like many before and since that simply insn't enough to get to the top.
  4. Could the away support outnumber the home at this one?
  5. Rules dropped after a year...unheard of! Sadly the unattached route is slightly flawed (especially when unattached riders get an average after 4 meetings). Personally id rather see RR saved for emegencies and either guests (-x% of missing averaged rider) or use unattached but be able to re-order the side and promote a reserve to the 1-5 for the meeting ....
  6. Bullets are a very strong side especially at home and reaping the rewards of loyalty towards riders. Going to be serious contenders come play off time
  7. Apologies to Josh put the mockers on him it appears. Dominant home side, disappointing debut for Shanes who shows that his gating still really isn't up to any decent level. Hope the injuries aren't too serious.
  8. Agreed. Maybe limit the use of RR to twice a season per side to cover for last minute emergencies etc but otherwise unattached guests. In fairness until the actual rules are changed it will remain. I would think RR still makes Mildenhall weaker. Home track specialists to take this but Shanes and Warren could mix it up a bit.
  9. Here. Delighted for Sedgy but really didnt see that coming. If he continues to get half that score he will be considered a huge success. Still got a long way to go though.
  10. But as a replacement for Congreve surely even Sedgy would be appealing?
  11. As the rules say both Ace and Ben can't both score in the meeting whats the point tracking both ? Is it simply to see who gets the better overall score then scrap the others?
  12. To be fair Jenkins was one of the best guests available. Covering for Atkins will always be hard as he has such a low average and guests don't usually line up to race at or against Mildenhall (another fixture taking place at Kent reduced the options further) . Plymouth won't be the first or last to take a thumping at Mildenhall and no guarantee the return visit will be any better. (BTW Colley is an middle order MDL rider. )
  13. Im guessing the facility is in place whilst the 28 day ban is running, if JPB's witholding started later the cover still applies Im pretty sure the fire was pre season. Certainly a knock to any rider though and must have eaten into key funds. Id like to think that other promotions won't waste another chance on him but more likely he will pop up again somewhere in the future.
  14. Definitely putting the blame on auto correct. I guess i made a poor attempt at spelling conversion and an even worse job of checking what I typed.
  15. Rode since then though and implied it wouldn't cause an issue. Sadly another in the Bridger mould where talent is there but preperation and dedication is massively lacking. Thought teams were daft to include him on his comeback and still looks a daft decision now. Probably makes Belle Vue stronger though.
  16. Perhaps if the conversation rate actually got to 2.0 as was the plan and highest average applied both ways then the doubling up / down would see a reduction. As ever though the 5 year plans last 5 minutes.
  17. I can only see manipulation on the rise. Teams whos play-off chances have gone will see riders tripping over themselves to finish last. Two "bad" matches could easily see a rider trim 1-2 points off thier average.
  18. Poor form really and shows the clumsiness of a new promotion being guided by you know who. Signing clearly made to get to the tapes for the first few meetings, season tickets and any other advance tickets all sold under false pretences. My thoughts go to all fans who are trying to support a club and are being fed the smelly brown stuff repeatedly. As ive said on other threads the paying public aren't completely stupid, an honest and open announcement from clubs at various stages goes a long way. Instead Brum have served up the signing of the British Champion for the upcoming season.....poor form.
  19. Home win but Scunny will have to work for it. The 3&4 combos will swing it so unless Heeps and Newman really turn up the Scorpians should be OK. Providing Bomber is on a pay per points deal the racing should be good though.
  20. Anyone got any news on Rowe's "illness"? he misses the Leicester match tonight at Edinburgh so figure that his illness ban will extend to the next Witches fixture also?
  21. 10 days should be the case so figure he will miss Mondays Ipswich match also
  22. pish take or brutal honesty? Glasgow (riders, manager and promotion) all carry the weight of expectancy that play offs will be reached as a very minimum given the way the team is built and the finances laid out. Newcastle are looking at play offs on a wing and a prayer that if a lot of misfortune occurs to others they might and its a big might scrape the final place. Nobody would be against Newcastle if they openly stated this year is about survival, building for the future etc in fact i think more would get behind them and Brum (who are in similar positions although they pro-actively sorted the track) sadly delusions of grandeur will only ever hold each club back and alienate all supporters not just their own.
  23. To confirm this is going to cover all three leagues? Easier to maintain / calculate i guess but also opens up a huge window for average manipulation in the later parts of the season
  24. Why you go back to worrying about your club and let other people worry about theirs. All you have achieved so far is to paint Newcastle Speedway in a far worse light than it already was (and to be fair with a club that is falling apart at the seams its saying something). Nobody wants any clubs to close in the same way as they don't want the sport to disappear but half baked efforts to keep a club going do just as much harm as good. Given the few who attend its unlikely there were first time holiday makers at the Newcastle debacle but if they were its highly unlikely they would ever attend any track again. Poor showings reflect badly on the whole sport not just the host club.
