  1. They could of course name Coles as number 8 and allow him to take 3 of the RR rides and let the other go to the rider with the average above Dan.
  2. Theres a lot of dodgy rules about. Personally i think that unattached riders should be issued an average just as attached riders are once the number of meetings are achieved. Don't really know how Jody was signed in and out of the Chargers (28 day replacement or full signing) either way at NDL level theres too many rules and regs to jump through.
  3. Can a rider be re-decalred into a team if they have been taken out once already? Hopefully can be as regular team racing will only enhance him further (and im sure will be available for Oxfords visit to Kent in a couple of weeks). Certainly no blame for heat 15 but he and Greg were scrapping and really it was a safe 3-3 so could/should have tucked in one behind the other.
  4. 15 i believe. Skill set is good and perhaps the more experienced riders should have just given him more room? Big future ahead though and will be a big signing next year for someone.
  5. Useful rider big speed but was out for himself. Took Blair out early on turning an easy 3-3 into a Kent 4-2. Tangled with Crang in heat 15 also. No doubt quick though. Not sure how long he can keep guesting without getting an average though?
  6. Could have been Gilkes. I remember Spooner spent a year free and easy with no threat of being saddled with an average. Could easily happen with an up and coming rider. Especially if they get dialled in at a few tracks. I know its limited to twice per track as a guest but that could drive the higher bidder element further.
  7. Hard on Connor and probably unfair. Been putting in far more effort this season than Roynon has been but the Godfather knows best.
  8. I have been told it but dont know if its still active? The only benefit i can see is that it would prevent an unattached rider who is much better than his 3.00 grading taking multiple guest bookings a season, setting a high price and scoring big every meeting at reserve. Obviously not a common tactic but entirely possible and could see results dictated by whoever gets the joker guest in.
  9. I was led to believe that unattached riders still got an average after 4 matches. Didnt know if tonight was his 4th or after Kent tomorrow?
  10. Does Jody Scott achieve an average after tonight or will Sunday be his 4th fixture?
  11. Not going to debate that. Im just concious that as the sport as a whole is in a precarious position and fixtures that could cause financial issues have to be given extra consideration.
  12. I was suspecting Kent but time will tell. I doubt Butcher would willingly leave an Oxford reserve berth to sign for further travel 1-5 slot at Plymouth. Also not sure if Scott wants a team place this year (would certainly make more sense to wait until next season and start on a 3.00 for the whole campaign) .
  13. Interesting group of signings. Not surprised that Meadows has been released but King is likely to get fixed up somewhere closer to home. I thought the governing body decided who was in the 1-5 in the event of 3 x 3.00 pointers and ususlly they place the rider with most (any) experience so that would be Naylor? Either way i wish all the new signings the best but it still looks a tough match tomorrow night.
  14. Im not saying im a far of the option but the sport as a whole is in a precarious state. As a standalone meeting its likely to be poorly supported so will cost Berwick money, as a double header its reduced admission so potental monetary loss again? Leicester will obviously incur further costs sending riders to compete in a meeting that is almost won. Further impact of available dates for the cup final to actually happen could come into play (with Leicester Lions and Cubs likely to feature in the play offs) . Yes it is entirely possibly for the Bullets to overcome the 36 point deficit at home but is it entirely worth it?
  15. Can see Berwick not contesting the 2nd half of this tie and allowing Leicester through, probably the most sensible option for multiple reasons.
  16. Predictions Ben Morley as guest at number 1, Extance a no show (again) and different home pairing to the listed above. Spooner is possibly RR for the visitors but the result is likely not in doubt. Hefty away win with only the weather possibly beating Mildenhall.
  17. I did look at Thompsons, Bickley and likewise Edwards but they have had spells at reserve so averages fluctuate further and would currently put Palin ahead of that group BUT they are catching him. There have always been sleeper riders who at times struggled to get a team place Mountain, Hume for example and are now highly in demand. Palin wants to watch that he doesn't slip into that bracket as not everyone gets out of it.
  18. Lines up alongside Armo, Tony Atkin, Hurry and Complin. Wouldn't be bottom in the NDL
  19. Kennedy a long term gain? Palin maybe heading towards Josh Auty status but he could easily be another Simon Lambert. Definitely needs to look at what his counterparts are doing Flint, Brennan, Thomas all increasing their averages whilst riding in a CL 1-5. Not saying it can't be turned around but riders destined for the top rarely have extended plateau's in form.
  20. Blimey. A forecast a prediction a percentage chance its all the same thing. The likelihood was that it was going to piddle down and a high likelihood at that so the promotion called the meeting off early saving / reducing costs to them (they will have already incurred fees for the rain off so its not like they get off freely) saving untold amounts of mileage travelled (Plymouth especially being an outpost will mean travelling the day prior is more common) and of course the countless amounts of work days that need not be cancelled due to travelling to the fixture by the early call off. Yes the predictions can be wrong but id much rather see an early call off end up dry than a meeting abandoned/not start when a poor forecast proved to be accurate.
  21. Rowe not doing the UK, Newman out of form even for his standards. Don't know about Clegg at Scunny but would he get more than Coles who is at least busting a gut to score points? Better to replace Tero with BWD (at least for a single match) then guest it up.....all in the best interests and all that
  22. Almost certain that NDL fixtures will get punted to later in the season. The Centurions have nothing left to race for (except avoiding wooden spoon) plus i suspect fines for non completion of matches would be lower?
  23. Oh yeah they ran a select side in the National Trophy so 3 home and 3 away. Not really enough fixtures to get anyone engaged with. Second sides will always be a bit marmite but largely essential if the sport in this country has any hope of survival.
  24. Yes Mulford, Harris, Bowtell, Chad Wirtzfeld, Zach Waj.......basically brits make up half the field as nobody else is taking up the places for some reason.
