  1. The return of the flying Adam Sheppard could herald a change of fortunes for the Kings. Sublime in the MDL & vital impressive practice at Arlington how can we go wrong
  2. Im not sure its down to the SCB etc to curb costs it down to the clubs. Set sensible pay brackets within the club and stick to them for example £40 per point for heat leaders, £30 second string & £20 at reserve. If you move in the riding order your money changes too? It might be that many riders say no way to those terms but see how many will be prepared to sign when they still have no team place as the season gets closer. It would weed out the money men & get those who truly desire to ride. So a rider cant have new bikes every year or has to take a job to make it add up. What you will be left with is those with a desire to be involved. Obviously these are figures pulled from the air but the basic principle is there.
  3. Was hoping nobody would mention Knuckey as after his latest showing would be a great booking. I suspect the tie is beyond doubt anyway so would be nice to see Eastbourne track their no.8 instead of R/R especially when the result has been secured. As for Kent a lot will be down to which reserves they choose to use, will Baseby travel? & can Shanes do anything on a track that I strongly suspect doesn't suit his all out style. If the Kings can put in a decent showing like at Brum I will be happy(ish)
  4. For me I think Kent are doing the right thing on this occasion despite the inconvenience for some (me included.) However Lakeside is under threat. The £5 entry is aimed at getting as many through the gate as possible and showing everyone what levels of support and how much they deserve to have all the help they can get in finding a new home. From a personal perspective I would rather see a month of home meetings cancelled than lose another track / club forever!
  5. "Not only has he got the only Female speedway rider girlfriend" Well hats off as he has got one over most of the posters on here by having a girlfriend full stop!
  6. Ive always thought it was a rider based error rather than engines. It seems to be a constant statement " I need more speed" or words to that effect. Everyone else uses these tuners without issue so its more than likely bike setups rather than engines. That said Bomber has been around more than long enough now to know what he should be doing!
  7. Don't know for certain but definitely a bigger percentage than decisions that have gone Ben Morley's way this year!
  8. BIt harsh by some? On certain tracks a 250 in good hands could keep with a 500 as it could be held on all the way? What was the time comparison between Tom and the main meeting heats? That said all Niall does is stand around at Eastbourne and take a few laps after the meeting so no wonder he isn't competitive although in fairness any MDL's I have seen him do have been disastrous!
  9. Is there any further update on Robert Parker? Such a shame after a good showing for Mildenhall on Sunday.
  10. Obviously wasn't able to attend last night but what a huge shame as it sounded like a cracker. Points thrown away by Brum perhaps but that just adds to the excitement and entertainment. Nice to see Basford starting to get amongst the points and given a run in the 7 jacket as Danno has done nothing in it. Obviously R/R whatever my views of it worked for Kent tonight and an excellent choice of guest who must have raised a few eyebrows as heat leader choice but must have scored more than Baseby would have. A turning point perhaps or just a flattering confidence booster?
  11. I get the feeling that Luke wanted away but no other offers came? He seemed a bit cheesed off about being hit with a ban for withholding his services. Once the gaps had been plugged at Redcar, Peterborough & Somerset there weren't any other viable options so it was back to Rye?
  12. No Bates does open it up a little......will it be Powell at reserve again?
  13. Sings 4 Kings has given up predicting having got about two right all season! Sadly inconsiderate work will keep me away from attending this one but I will be checking the updates through my hands I suspect. If Kent hit 40 I will call it a result but I fear a massacre. Ellis, Bates, Waj & even Kirby to fill his boots.
  14. I used to have an enlarged and vibrant NL but now its worn a little thin
  15. Agreed its not like for like but very rule will have its pitfalls. Same can work the other way though. When Zack Waj or Ellis Perks are running at reserve like they have been they can run riot with RR. Its a double edged sword some teams are weaker with RR some are clearly stronger. Just seems harsh to insist teams in the NL have a number 8 when RR is used in the NL and then not actually use them.
  16. In that instance it would make you weaker but over the course of the season it would balance out across the teams. But with my suggestion you could re order the team i.e 1.Cleggy 2 Extance 3 Williamson 4 Moggo 5 Perks 6 Harris 7 Govier doesn't look too shocking to me?
  17. Id wait and see what they do to Kings Lynn & Mildenhall first. I strongly suspect this Danish lot will be awesome. Are they likely to send a bunch of chumps over to represent Denmark!?!
  18. Exactly. Even more crazy is they cant step in for a reserve during a meeting. If one was struggling or the meeting was already won / lost it would be an ideal time to give riders like Niall match experience.
  19. I think several riders would benefit from some extra MDL outings but many appear to not want them? Personally I think that RR should be dropped from the NL and the number 8's used or shuffle the riding order and put a reserve in the 1-5 with the no 8 in at reserve. They should also be able to take any reserve riders outing not just RR rides. If we are going to insist upon them and want to drive new blood into the sport why not give them all the opportunities available?
  20. What are the Cradley supporters opinion of Luke Harris being "rested"? Seems a little mean considering you will be running RR anyway?
  21. Has anyone actually brought one of these now they are on general sale?
  22. Ippo are darned if they do darned if they don't tonight. Nothing other than 60+ would be deemed acceptable and ive a nagging feeling a couple of the "Rye" boys might just go for it! BWD could be interesting but im not sure if the dirt at Foxall will be too much for him? Definitely wont be at Rye next year either. Saturday then Sunday with the Eagles? Highly unlikely. Any PL team that runs on a Thursday / Friday will lead the chase. Although at the moment he is good but Morley level good.
  23. IF he gets an average above 3.00 by the end of the season & IF Eastbourne want to use him next year. The Dugards have proven that they have a wide net of contacts and wont be solely hanging their hat on Powell. Plus all experience is good experience & isn't it 4 home 4 away before getting an average? Could be wrong with the last bit? How does that work if the rider is guesting for multiple teams?
  24. Long term id agree that Zach has better hopes. He already has deep pocket backing, good grounding and ego is not likely to become an issue and in the current climate has a UK passport. BWD is a huge talent no doubt of that but is fully reliant on sponsorship & visa's if either of those dry up it could hamper things greatly.
